Thank you Hccb. You are helping me to get excited about this trip. I have always wanted to be at the world for the Christmas holidays and every time we have tried something has happened to stop the planning or cancel the trip before we even got within 6 months. You gave me some great ideas. :thumbsup2

I am wondering is MVMCP really worth the time and money? Are the shows and parade something we don't want to miss?

Hi!
We are staying in the Hawaii building in July, and our flight home out of MCO is at 9:49 a.m. Anyone have any experience using the Magical Express to the airport from this hotel ? Will we be able to make our flight? How early will they pick us up? I have read that we have to be there 3 hours earlier than our flight if we use Magical Express. Help! Please???

Congrats on your upgrade! :cool1: Take lots of pics for us.

Hello, I am book at Poly LV in August. Can anyone tell me if all lagoon view rooms have balconies, or do I need to call back and request one. I would love to sit out on the balcony in the evening. Thanks

I beleive that only the 3rd floor has balconies. No balconies on 2nd floor, and patios on 1st floor.

Thanks Lwilson2006, I will call back an request a balcony room, just to be sure. :thumbsup2

Husband and I are planning a trip with our two daughters (17 and 7) for the dates of 8/13-19. We want to reserve a LV Concierge room. I want to make a room requests but we can't decide if we want a first floor or third floor (non-smoking) room. I was leaning towards first floor with a patio so the girls could come and go from the room easily, but Husband thinks the view would be better on the third floor.

I've learned so much from this forum so I thought I would ask for everyone's "expert" advice! :smooth:

A patio is a must so the second floor is not an option right?

Once the room request is decided it is on to ADR's

Thanks!

We've stayed in both; each have the advantages you mentioned. 3rd floor probably has slightly better overall view, more privacy. 1st is far more convient for come & go. If it matters, on the second floor there is no stair/elevator concerns when accessing the lounge.

2nd floor does not have balconies - you can slide the door open though.

Is there really only that one laundry facility near Rarotonga in the building with The Neverland Club? I was planning on only packing enough things to get through a few days and then wash them for the rest of the time...but if that's the only one it's not very conveinient...I was hoping to be able to pop in a load and sit by the pool while it washed...like at the Mods and Values. I don't really think I should leave my laundry all the way over there though...anyone have experience with that? TIA

We always do laundry there and never had a problem. I like to do it later at night whnen we return from the parks. I bring a collapsible hamper which I carry over with the clothes. I do leave but always return before they are finished.

I agree that I haven't had a problem the few times I've had to do laundry there over the years. There are a number of washer/dryers and it is actually rather close to the East pool. And remember the whole resort isn't nearly as big as the mods or values.

I have gone at off hours though.

We never have had a problem doing our laundry there. Infact after a long day at the parks, my dh and BIL took all the kids for a late night dip in the pool while my SIL and I grabbed a few rum & cokes and headed over to do laundry together and watched tv. It didn't take that long and we had fun hanging out and having a few drinks as well:cool1:

The laundry facility is closer to the quiet pool. Pretty close to it, actually.

My beef with the laundry facility is that it is just too small (not enough machines, I have seen folks really having to pounce on them!) Be prepared for your things to be removed from the machine if you aren't back on time.

I think it would be nice if each longhouse had a couple machines like apartment buildings. If you go during an off time (not really sure when that is, lol--probably early morning?) it's fine though.

chamonix, that is the type of arrangement that the GF has and although it sounds nice in theory, in practice I found it to be a pain. In Conch Key, there are two washers and two dryers. If an inconsiderate person leaves their stuff in the machines, you are sunk. No nice folding table either. And Conch Key serves for both Sugar Loaf and Conch Key although I think that is the only building that does double duty and is that way as a result of the concierge lounge area in Sugar Loaf.

Is there actually a room that you can sit down at while your laundry is being done? I know that at the Yacht club the laundry room is probably 10 feet long by about 6 feet wide and you can hardly breethe in there! they had two washers and two stacked dryers! it was like being in a sauna! and there was no where to go. Does the Poly at least have a few more washers and dryers? I will probably try doing my laundry early morning...depending on when they open up.

There are maybe 8-10 washers and a similar number of dryers on the other side of the room. There is a large folding table down the middle. The room might be 20 or 25 by 15???

There is also a small waiting room with a few chairs and a TV.

It is open 24 hours/day but you need to use your key for access during off hours which is good!

:yay: Just wanted to drop in for a minute and let you all know how Excited I am getting. We have our MVMCP tickets, we are staying in a lagoon view concierge room for 7 nights after Thanksgiving. :lovestruc Woo Hoo

I have request third floor, for the view. Maybe we will be blessed and get the Tikiman room. :hyper: Whatever room we are assigned will be wonderful. I will be on vacation in WDW at the Polynesian with my sweetheart, best-friend and love of my life. :cloud9:

Happy planning everyone!

Well I certainly don't want a stranger taking my clothes out of the washer/dryer...do they just dump them on the floor??? I wouldn't want to just leave my stuff there, hogging the washer/dryer...but good grief, I would NEVER have the guts to take someone else stuff out just to do my own. So, if I go like say after 10pm on Thursday(may 25) should I be okay? Will that be an off time?
