We were there between 10:30 & 11:30 and there was only two other woman in there with us.

There were lots of available washer & dryers.

Well I certainly don't want a stranger taking my clothes out of the washer/dryer...do they just dump them on the floor??? I wouldn't want to just leave my stuff there, hogging the washer/dryer...but good grief, I would NEVER have the guts to take someone else stuff out just to do my own.

I would never take someone else's clothes out either. but at the GF, when I went back later and the same clothes were still sitting in the two washers I was tempted to call about it. But I didn't. Can't remember if I waited until the next day or if they were gone by the third trip!

But at the Polynesian, I personally have never seen clothes just laying around. Everyone seems resposible about it. And there is no excuse for not attending to clothes on time as it tells you somewhere how long the cycle is.....I think right on the machines but it might be a seperate sign.

Will that be an off time?

I have seen plenty of folks take stuff out of the w/d when they are waiting for one to open up. I go after 10pm and there are usually machines open but I have seen folks take stuff out. One guy waited 30 minutes after the washer stopped and still no one came for the clothes. He took them out and put them in a heap on the table. Can't blame him as it is beyone rude to hog a machine for that long after it is finished. If you don't think you can return before your wash is done then don't leave. I usually stroll the grounds for 15 minutes and come back and wait for the clothes to finish. There is a small rooms to sit and watch tv while waiting.

do they just dump them on the floor???
No, only a crazy person would do that, lol. It is acceptable though, as mentioned upthread if, after waiting a reasonable amount of time noone shows up to remove the clothing and place it on the folding table or in a basket if they leave one, etc.

Certainly this isn't what I would want or prefer to do, I don't care to touch other folks unmentionables, lol, (clean or not) but it's done all the time in laundromats and apt buildings. (at least it sure was being done when I was in college!) Don't worry about it, just don't leave your stuff for long enough for it to happen to you! ;) BTW, I dont' recall seeing any sign with times, but it's been awhile since I attempted laundry at the Poly.

We got back about 2 weeks ago and we stayed in Fiji. Laundry was not really convienent. I went over around 3 put in 2 loads and went back to the pool and came back in 1/2 hr and put them my clothes in the dryer and went back an hour later. It was okay but a lot of walking, but I was the only one using machines.

We're driving, self parking and arriving around 1-1:30(TOMORROW!). Do park and then bring our bag up to check-in? We can drop them off with Bell service and they will bring them to our room when it's ready? Or should we just leave them in the van and go back out to get them when our room is ready? We plan on taking the monorail to Epcot for a late lunch. What would be best?

Drive up to the bell services area and unload. They will load your bags onto a cart and give you a claim check kind of thing. You then go inside to check in, and they will bring your bags to your room. One of you can park the car and deal with the luggage folks while the other goes and gets in line inside for checkin. Your room could very well be ready at that time, if it's not, Bell Services will hold and secure your luggage until you actually get into your room. You can call them to bring up your bags.

Just drive up to the front of the hotel and Bell Services will handle your bags for you. If your room isn't ready, they'll store it and then take it up once it's available.

I see you have your "quiver full" lol, so it will work well to leave an adult with the car with the kids still in their carseats, or contained in the car, or playing on the walk there, etc (it's a shaded area) while dealing with the luggage, while one adult goes in to checkin. Hopefully the line will be short, and then you can deal with the kids together (into strollers, etc) to head out to your lunch.

Looks like you will have a blast with that bunch!! :thumbsup2

Poly fans and experts, I have a question about the bathrooms....I have stayed at Rapa Nui and loved it, but we were in a handicap access room. I noticed on Tikiman's site, that even the bathrooms with 2 sinks are still located in the bathrooms. Will this be a problem for 3 adult females in one room? :confused3 LOL I was really hoping that the sinks / vanities would be outside of the shower and toilet area.
This might be a deciding point of maybe not staying there, and I really wanted to for the convenience and my sister and cousin's first time at WDW ....Also, can 3 adults be comfortable in a room? Has anyone had any problems where an extra adult in the room is just too much?

I think 3 women could be very happy in one room at the Poly, but you really can't know for yourselves until you try. My family and friends could easily share (not shy around each other) and aren't too into perfect hair, makeup, appearances, etc so for us it works fine.

There is a large mirror over the desk area in the room. No sink in there, but it might help you "spread out". (yes, the sinks are in the bathroom even in the two sink rooms)

i cant tell you impresses I am with the plannng staff at the poly
they have answered all my questions quickly and have been so helpful
i am really looking forward to stay
lynne brandon nikki
everyones been amazing

Is there going to be a huge difference between rooms on the third floor of Samoa east pool view when compared to the rooms on the 3rd flooor of Tokelau east pool view? Are the two buildings that far apart? I'm reading that Tokelau rooms are larger, but maybe not even larger enough to tell the difference? I'd like the larger room, but I'm also concerned to being close to the GCH, and TTC. :confused3
Thanks for your input!

To Michelle2 about bathrooms.

I was in a one sink room. The toilet was in a small alcove by itself but of course you were not well hidden when sitting there. Still it offered a little privacy if others HAD to be at the sink. Of course just DH and I so WE'VE not had privacy for over 20 years and it didn't matter!!! :teeth:

Otherwise, the rooms at the Poly were nice and large and would offer no problems for three ladies. And the bathrooms were large -- just that toilet issue. Good luck and have fun!

I have never stayed in Somoa, but prefer Tokelau. Nice quiet location away from the activity yet close to the lagoon. I don't think you can be close to both TTC and GCH, as GCH is in the Center and TTC is past the last long house. I like Tokelau because of its proximity to TTC, the quiet pool, and balconies on the second and third floors. I assume you have checked out Tikiman's site. Best info on the Poly I have ever found. http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/

When is Tokelau supposed to be finished with the rehab? Does anybody know? I have requested this for my Dec. trip.

Tokelau is slated for completion Sept21 ...... although this is always subject to change/delays.

I am hoping they complete on time as we check in Sept23 and have requested this longhouse

Yep, I have been ALL over Tikiman's site, with much appreciation! That's why I am so on the fence about Tokelau. I made my request for Samoa 3rd floor, but really think I need to change it to Tokelau balcony. Oh, WHY do they give us so many choices???? hahahah! I've made our plans so that we get MGM and AK out of the way during our first 3 days at the Caribbean Beach, leaving MK and Epcot for our last 5 days at the Polynesian (because of the monorail.) No matter where we are, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to stay in Tokelau tooo but it's not going to be open by September 2 when we check in. I've requested Samoa and I'm hoping to get a balcony or patio but if we get the 2nd floor oh well.

Can anyone tell me anything good about the Hawaii Building? The recent reviews I have read are not very good. :guilty: They rooms aren't great and the lobby is smokey. I thought this was the concierge building? Anyone stayed there recently?? We are scheduled to stay there in July.
