We are going for our FIRST trip to WDW in May and staying GVC at the Poly. Last night I sent a note introducing myself to the concierge and today I got the nicest reply. We are going to finalize our ADR plans and the concierge is going to help book them. CRT too so perhaps I won't have to set the alarm for 4:30am AZ time.

As you can tell from my count, I do not post much but I was so excited that I just had to post to my "Poly friends".

And Steve/Tikiman...Your work is erasing the bad image the Brady Bunch gave to the words: Tiki and Idol. It doesn't seem like enough to say but...thank you for all you do and all you have done.

David

I hope you have a great trip and don't run into any of the Brady's when you are there.

Aloha

Steve

It is very nice and loved the GOT Terminal.

Tikiman,

Is the surprise item dole whip?

Bought the mugs, they are not available in travel size.

Anybody have any questions?

Do you mean that Dole Whip is now on the menu at Capt. Cooks? Also, how much does the menu differ from what is posted on allearsnet? We are getting in at about 10:00 am and we are looking to have our lunch either here or fight for somewhere in MK.

Answer this and get back to having fun.

Please tell me they at least have a new design for the mugs...I'll buy them either way, but would love to have a new design for our collection.

Hope you're having a great trip!

Yes, dole whip is on the menu. It is only soft serve. I didn't see it with pineapple juice. I will look at the menu on allears again and let ya know.

What was the old design. These have minnie and mickey dressed with leis.

We leave next week for our first stay at the Poly. Can you tell me where I catch the bus to MGM and AK? How long does it take to get there? Thanks!!

They have leis on the old design -- Mickey is surfing and Minnie is in a hammock.

Sounds like I better start saving up for the Poly again next year! Missing it already and sad we didn't get the mugs with Captain cooks closed.

Hi
We are looking to do a split stay this year. One being the Poly. Has anyone else had a room in the Samoa building? I've just seen a picture of this building, from their room, looking out towards the pool. Beautiful is all I can say!! Any suggestions of other rooms would be appreciated.

I dont have time to read through the whole thread, but we will be at the Poly again and its the lst time we will be staying conceirge in just 6 short days. Should the island planners be calling us and does anyone know what the food offerings are, I am especially thinking of lunch and dinner. I told my ds this is not their food place, just more for snacks. TIA for any info.

I didn't wait on the Island planners to contact me. I contacted them directly. It's my understanding if you booked through a travel agent other than the WDW site, the planners will not have your personal info and have no way of contacting you unless you contact them first.

You can contact the planners at this email address: WDW.Polynesian.Island.Planning.Office@disney.com

Be sure to include your name and confirmation # so that they can look up your reservation.

You can find info about the concierge food offerings here:

http://www.allears.net/acc/faq_polyc0.htm

I'm not sure how accurate that menu is exactly, but it should give you a good idea of the type of items that will be available for your sampling.

take a look at tikiman's website and I think there is a map of the bus stop....

It is several feet to the left as you exit the GCH....of course there are several ways to get there(through paths of the Poly) but only one bus stop. We were in Rarotonga last time at the end of the hall closest to the arcade. This exit was RIGHT outside of the bus stop and was an ideal location! We used only Disney transportation. This building was a lot better as far as closest to the monorail and bus stops compared to Fiji in 2005. I would say allow yourself at least 30-40 mins (depending on how quick you get a bus to your location)...the only time we waited an extended amnt of time was Downtown Disney but even then I think we made it in 40 mins or so back to the Poly (including the wait...) point being...don't think you are going to be there in 15 mins. Not going to happen. Just plan and allow extra time. We LOVE taking the busses! Meeting all the people on the busses is extra fun for us. Remember busses are shared w/ Contemporary and GF...but do not worry...we always got the first bus and it was never extremely crowded. Same way with getting BACK to the Poly. We always stayed til park closings and never ever had to wait for a second bus. It was really great and although the busses do not come as often as say ALLSTARS...there are MUCH less people to vie for a seat on the bus! It worked out great for us...but PLAN ACCORDINGLY :thumbsup2

I wish my trip was a month later. We were at Poly 11/4-11/8 so missed Captin Cooks. DH is so upset about not getting a mug for our collection he's been searching e-bay for one.

If he is that bummed out, I am sure one of us that is going in the next couple of weeks would be glad to pick one up and drop it in the mail for you.

It would be easy to do.

Let me know,

Ed
