O.K. I just switched my reservations from GFSL to Poly LVC :woohoo:

My question is this, I put in a request for the 2nd floor so that my DD who is disabled can have easier access to the lounge. I know that we will not have a patio but do the sliding doors open so we can watch the lagoon from our room????

Yes our first room did in Samoa. I'd bet they're all the same.

You had our room! We left on September 10th :sad2: . I liked the view alot of the pool and lagoon. You think Fiji marina side is a better view than that? I couldn't see the castle with the trees there but I did enjoy EWP from the balcony. Walking up 3 flts. of stairs from :) the pool was a work out especially after the parks all day. Glad you had a good trip.

My favorite thing about Fiji was we could see the MK. Not the castle, but Space Mountain and it really made me feel "apart" even though I wasn't there. Plus we had a MUCH better view of the EWP from Fiji. I could only see the last few floats from our Samoa room. Not that it mattered. With WISHES at 9 most nights, they didn't play the music for the EWP. Which really bummed me out.

That happened to us a the few nights wishes was at 9PM. We could only see the EWP but no :sad2: .sound. I don't know if I can stay anywhere else now after staying at Poly. I love the location of samoa but I did walk over to Fiji just to see the whole resort.

We are staying 2 nights at the POLY in Nov. Per my TA advice we requested the Tahiti longhouse. I was getting nervous that the 2nd floor doesn't have balconies but according to Tikiman website they do.

Has anyone stayed in this longhouse? Should I request another one? Is it really that far from the Ceremonial house?

As you can tell I am second guessing my request. I hate to have picked the wrong longhouse.

TIA

What side of the building were you on? We've requested Fiji, 3rd floor for our trip in November and I'm so worried we won't get it.

OK, I just can't figure out what EWP is??? And I am too old and too lazy to find the acronym thread. Just tell me :teeth: !

Cthia - I was ready to say no balcony on 2nd floor -- but looked at TIKIMAN site and WOW there are balconies on 2nd floor Tahiti!! TIKIMAN's site is sooo cool! I love a balcony too!

To all those who were in FIGI - I loved FIGI third floor facing marina! It was wonderful!

Electrical Water Pageant. To me, that one and the Polynesian are just to special to abbreviate. :wizard:

Yes, Tahiti, Tokelau and Rapa Nui have balconies on the second floor.

I just switched from the Swan to the Poly for the first part of our trip. We have a Magic Kingdom view. Can someone tell me the name of this building or do a few of the buildings face the MK? Also,I would love to see pictures and maybe a layout. Thanks!

Marina side. I think 3 rooms in from the front side of the building.

Do all the 2nd floor rooms without balconies have sliding glass doors with railings?

Thank-you SAMSA-I appreciate the link. I'm excited about the Poly as it's been 25 years since I've been to this hotel!

Thanks BVC23 for telling me what EWP means! I probably never would have thought of that because I keep forgetting the name of the Electrical Water Pagent. (Ok between DH and I, we call it the "King Neptune Thing") :teeth:

Ooooo Concierge just sent me a big envelope with brochures and maps. Hmmmm... how can I save money to go Conceirge next year ... I may get used to it!!!

My DH turns 41 on the last day of our trip. Other than dinner at O'Hana's, (ADR is in place :) ) Does anyone have ideas for a Poly style birthday surprise? He surprised me with the trip, and I feel like I need to find a special way to let him know how cool he is!

What about going to the Lua instead of 'Ohana that night. I know they do something special for B'Days like let them come up on stage and dance. Also you can usually order a special dessert wherever you decide to eat. Other will know more about ordering a specail dessert. I would start a new thread on this topic because there are alot of cool cakes and stuff you can order. 'Ohana or any restaurant will usually give you a birthday dessert if you let them know.

I ordered my DH chocolate covered strawberries and had them delivered to the room for his 40th birthday. We were staying at the Poly.

Hi Everyone! I need some help with picking a room! :teeth: we'll be there in just over a week and I was told to call if I wanted to try and select a specific room the week before we are to be there. We are Poly Lagoon View Concierge and I was wondering what the very best view is? I would love to see the Castle but I don't know if that is part of Lagoon view or not? What do YOU think? :confused3 Thanks ahead of time for any info! :thumbsup2 Helen
