It seems that so many people rave about it. We will be there 8/31-9/5 and there are still concierge rooms available if I want to upgrade. It will be myself, dh, dd7 and ds8. What are the benefits to us?? BTW We already have the dining plan and I have already made my ADR's. With a price increase of almost $1000 I really need some justification....

I guess the only reason we are doing concierge is for the room and the view. :teeth: We originally booked concierge without the dining plan but have since changed our minds. Dining plan was just too good to pass up! We usually do concierge rooms because we like the convenience of the lounge area and being able to bring cold drinks back to the room all the time...with three teenagers you can't beat that! :rotfl2: So, technically as far as I can see there is no specific reason to go and spend all that extra $$$! :rolleyes1

The lounge and breakfast is the big draw for me. I am just not sure that it is worth the price. I has requested Samoa volcano pool view and would be totally happy with that room and view so to be in the concierge building itself is not a factor. Its hard to justify the price increase for the convience of the breakfast (especially since we have the meal plan) and the lounge. Hmm...what to do????

We were at the Poly from 8/7 -8/14. I also booked conceirge for the convenience of it. If this will make your decision easier - I saw hardly anyone in Captain Cooks and the coffee bar is now open until 8pm and they said those extended hours will most likely continue through October.

We are leaving for the Poly this Saturday! We are so excited! We are staying GV but are interested in turndown service. Can we get it if we are not concierge? Has anyone done this? I know someone posted that they requested it and were told no. TIA !

Welcome to the DIS! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Why not just request a room near the pools and let the magic happen. pixiedust:

:cool1:

Well, BCV23 - I took your advice and simply requested a room near the pools Thanks! The little one (she's four) is already in vacation mode.

We will be arriving the morning of October 22 - so I'm hoping I can get there early and re-request my request! :)

Since I take TONS of pics we are bringing my laptop so we can upload them onto it each night and start out with a fresh camera everyday.

1 - Will the laptop fit in the safe?

2 - If not, can guest services place it in a different safe for me, allow me to get it, and bring it back later in the evening or next morning before we hit the parks?

And just a little pixie dust pixiedust: that construction on Tokelau is completed on time!

Mine did not quite fit in the safe, but its an Mac and a little larger than most. I just took a chance and left in the the cabinet where the safe is located. No problems.

we are booking our 8 day polynesian vacation this friday for september 2007. our agent at www.yourmagicaljourneys.com said that by then all the rooms will be renovated. im hoping we get a room in fiji, where i stayed before. so excited!!!

hello everyone,
I have just booked the Polynesian concierge for next December, my 4 year old daughter loved the look of the beach.
Is the Polynesian decorated for the Christmas's season?
Really excited.

Hi, delauzons  !
We plan on requesting this, too, at Poly in December ;) !
I'm almost positive that if you request turndown service that they will give it to you at the Poly. We stayed at WL non-concierge in February of 2005, and I requested turndown service for the entire stay the day we arrived. They said, "All right, ma'am." I think we called housekeeping for the request. We really enjoyed it every night!!

Hope this helps!!

Hi, wideeyes  !

Yes, the Poly does decorate for the Christmas season. Tikiman has pics on his wonderful site, Tikiman's site. Click on the link that says "pictures".

Hope this helps!

Also the concierge lounge gets a huge 2 story tree during Christmas. We will be there this December.

Aloha

Steve

I have a question about the refrigerator. I checked Tikiman's site and saw the pictures, but I couldn't tell...

Is there a small freezer compartment at the top or is it all fridge? I'd like to bring a couple of freezer packs to help keep water cool at the parks, but if there's no freezer, I'll skip bringing them.

Anyone know? Thanks in advance. :)

Unfortunately, no small freezer. But it's a good size fridge, held many bottles of water and leftovers along with a plate of strawberries.

We are anxiously awaiting our early December first concierge stay. We arrive after Thanksgiving for a family reunion. Maybe we will see each other. Thank you Steve for your wonderful site, it has made our trip planning such a dream. (My DH does not know the girls are coming with their families. They just called me to tell me they want to surprise their dad.) They have rooms at the Poly; however, CL was full, but that is not a problem. They have requested Tahiti with the hope it will be finished by then. My point is I sent them a link to your site. It has made the planning so easy as well as getting everyone very excited. Thank you for all you do with your site and for sharing all your information with us all.
