The Official Non-Red Sox/Yankee Baseball Fan Thread

It was nice to see the Tribe go into Anaheim and take 2 games against a team they are likely to see in the playoffs as things stand now. Even on a 13 game west coast swing, they are coming together hopefully at the right time.

After watching the Browns yesterday......the tribe is our only hope right now.....

::yes:: ::yes::

Well, that, and the Cavs start up in October. ;)

Here in NY we've got the Mets & Yanks. Football doesn't look good, neither do the Knicks. Hockey might be OK.

The Brewers led off their game yesterday against the Reds with 3 homeruns in a row. That was pretty amazing.

I am amazed that there is meaningful baseball being played in Milwaukee in September. :thumbsup2 Now they play a 3-game series in Pittsburgh, which might sound good, but seeing as they can never win there no matter how horrible the Pirates are/how good the Brewers are...

Well, the Cards seem determined to throw away their chance at winning the division, now having lost 4 in a row, today in particularly ugly fashion. It doesn't help that they had their last day off of the season a few weeks ago (they're ending the season with 35 games in 34 days) and everyone is coming up hurt, but still....

Oh, and the Rams looked like six kinds of $@#&*% yesterday, too, and probably their best offensive lineman (Orlando Pace) is out for the season. Oh, joy.

Thank God hockey starts soon--the Blues' first preseason game is Sunday! I can't believe it's here already!!

The Royals salvaged the last game of a 3-game series by beating the Twins this afternoon here in KC (on a gorgeous day!) by a score of 6-3. This snapped a 7-game losing streak for the Royals and, more importantly, was their 63rd win of the season which means that their streak of 3-straight 100-loss seasons is also coming to an end this year! Unfortunately, yesterday's loss was their 82nd loss which means a fourth straight year with a losing record.

I think the Brewers are done. They don't take advantage of opportunities to pull ahead by more than one game (oh, not to mention blowing their first place position after being on top for practically the entire season!) And I don't think the Cardinals are going to do them any favors by beating the Cubs this weekend. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

The Mets have lost twice to the Phillies after having the lead. I really don't like the Phillies.

Indians' Magic Number is down to 5 :cool1: :cool1:

Well, at least the White Sox did worse than the Twins this year. What a lousy season, especially considering we had the same basic team as last year but they really stunk it up this year. :sad2:

I give the Indians credit - you know they are having a great year when they beat someone like Santana 5 times! Personally, I'd rather see the Tigers win than the Indians, but the Indians played well all season (not the ups and downs the Tigers had) and do deserve to win.

I'll be cheering for them in the playoffs! If we can't win, I'd rather see someone from the AL Central win (unless the Cubs make it, cuz then all bets are off :cheer2: )

No offense Bob but I'd really have loved to have seen some Detroit wins against Cleveland so that at least ONE of those two teams who shall not be named on this thread could have sat home during the playoffs.

My God, the Cardinals actually WON A GAME!!!   Sure, it's too late to really mean anything at this point in time, but it's still nice to have something to celebrate, darn it. And yay for it being Yadier Molina who drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th on his bobblehead night!

Indians now at 3.

It's nice to see the team peaking, hopefully it is not 2-4 weeks too early.

I was so thrilled to see them win! Thank goodness.

Mets magic number finally goes down again...to 9.

And Verlander 3 times as well now. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I see what you're saying Rob, but I'm being selfish now and pulling for the best record in the AL while I'm at it. ;)
