:sad2: :sad2: First time in nearly a century that the Indians have had only one hit in a game with that hit being a HR. :sad2:

Another wasted pitching performance -- Carmona's ERA is under 2 since the All Star break and he's 4 - 4 during that stretch. :headache:

I hate that--almost as much as the closer getting the win after he blew the save. (like Mr. Wagner last night)

OK, the Rangers are winning 30-3?!?!?! Seriously, WTH is up with that! I am sorry, but that is ridiculous. Do you really need to win by 27 runs??? :confused3 :confused3 IMO the Rangers should be just as embarrassed as the Orioles.

If there was an applauding smiley on here, I'd use it right now. I was thinking the same thing. Ridiculous, running up the score like that. Of course, like the Orioles radio commentator said during the game, what could the Orioles do? Asking them to intentionally strike out would be just as embarrassing.

So the Rangers should strike out and lower their batting stats just so they don't score more runs?

No, I didn't say that. My dad made a similar comment about how the hitters have to go up there and hit. I understand that, but still, 30-3 (let's just say that I'm the kind of person who feels bad when a team gets pounded on because I'm dorky like that...lol). And when half of the runs were in the last couple innings. I still think it's ridiculous, but whatever.

As I am sitting here at work DH is at the Cardinals game tonight. Our friend called him since he knows I am at work because he had only 1 extra ticket. Oh, and these are not just tickets. They are right behind home plate. They get a food buffet and free drinks. They also have someone come to take orders from them if they want anything while they are watching the game. Parking pass right next to the stadium.

DH and friend better be extra nice to me since I have to pout here at work.:rotfl2:

After a bad series with the Padres, the Mets have taken the first 2 games vs. the Dodgers. David Wells goes against them tomorrow on the ESPN Sunday night game.....should be fun.

And the Braves & Phillies lost last night, so the Mets now have 7 game lead in the NL East. But this week should be interesting for the Mets....4 games in Philadelphia, 3 in Atlanata.

Okay, I may not be THE biggest, but I'm definitely ONE OF the biggest Orioles fans out there and even I've given up on them for the season after the game tonight. That's just sad and ridiculous. :sad2:

After a terrrible 4 days in Philadelphia, the Mets have rebounded to take the first two in Atlanta....Mike Pelfry pitches a great game, Beltran has a great day at the plate, Delgado hits another homer after a 3 run homer last night.

Horrible ugly injury for the Cards last night (as though they need more of those)--Aaron Miles hit a line drive foul that smacked Juan Encarnacion right in the left eye as he was standing in the on-deck circle. It was sickening to see, and apparently his career may be in doubt now. I figured it was at least a broken orbital bone when they said they'd taken him to the hospital (having seen that injury in hockey several times), but they reported today that he suffered several fractures of that whole area AND a severe eye injury to boot. :sad2: He's out--at minimum--for the remainder of the season; I can't even imagine how awful Miles feels about things, though it was obviously an accident.

I was just reading about that this morning. I hate hearing about that type of injury. I hope he can make it back.

LOL no kidding, all I can say is BRING ON THE RAVENS! At least they are always competitive. It's funny, yesterday my husband said the only time you hear about the O's in the national news is when they've played really, really badly and help another team to break some crazy record. I miss Cal!

The Mets had a nice weekend in Atlanta. I can't believe I can write that. I really thought they were in big trouble after the 4 game sweep in Philadelphia, but maybe that was a wake-up call. Whatever, I'll take it. :thumbsup2

I know; it's awful. They were saying today that Pujols and Miles were with him at the hospital last night till like 3 am or so, but there's been no other news on his condition. Eye injuries are so tricky, and his could turn out not to be so bad once all of the swelling goes down and things start healing....I don't know if baseball has sight requirements like the NHL does. Poor guy.

And on a brighter note, the Cards completed their sweep of the Reds today! Ankiel had another HR. I'm so happy for him. :teeth:
