Vald ~ I was stunned to read your post about your period returning. Are you breastfeeding??? My baby is 4 weeks now and last night we did the "Le DE Le DA" and I reassured my husband that I can't get pregnant. And then I thought of "irish twins"

I like the idea of exchanging some of my 0-6 months clothes to autumn. I've gotten whole bunch of clothes of that size (but they're not gymboree brand). I'll look into if I can exchange them -- I know some of them are Carters. Would any store do?

I'm up and awake here due to a terrible stiff neck pain mostly from nursing lying down at night time. Ugghhh. I've been popping extra strengh tylenol pills to help with the pain. Any suggestions?

Here in Delaware it will be too cold to treat or trick for baby Tyler so he'll be inside for the event while I'm out trick or treating with kids. Love the new energy bill that Pres. Bush signed. It will be dark earlier in November now.

welcome seedisney and baby Tyler! Now we have two baby Tyler's on here :)

My baby Tyler is growing up too fast though. This week on vacation he started laughing and eating cereal, he's doing very well with it.

We had his 4 month checkup right before we left for the cabin. He's 15 lbs 14 oz. and 25 inches long. The Dr. said he's very strong and flexible (I guess flexibility is a good thing? ;) )

T & S - I thought CSR was pretty spread out. I liked the resort but didn't love it. It's beautiful, but we did do a lot of walking. I wish I could have gotten a room closer to the main building though.

SeeDisnsey,
I am exclusively formula feeding which may be why it came back so quickly. I was really surprised to get it already though. We resumed "relations" around the four week mark also and I am SO glad we used something because I sure don't want another baby ten months after DD :earseek: .

vald~ I am also exclusively ff and I did not get my period for almost 16 weeks! Actually it took a couple of visits to my clinic and a month of bc pills to get it to start again. I was the opposite of you...I was expecting to start sooner since I wasn't bfing. I was surprised that it took nearly 4 months to get it!

tkyes~ Thanks for telling me a little about CSR. I think it does look really spread out but we aren't going to do anything but relax and enjoy the resort the days we are there. We will do the parks while we are at POP and just relax, swim, eat, shop, etc., while at CSR so maybe it won't be too bad. I'll let you know after our stay if it was worth it to us. Here's hoping it will be!

ETA: OMG, I just realized that tomorrow will be 1 year to the day that I found out I was several weeks preg. w/Kylie! I can't believe how fast 1 year flew by!

Valerie: I got Jace's halloween costume at buycostumes.com also - It got here so quickly. He is going to be a hot dog. Long story, but my DH is known for his love of hot dogs and ability to eat a lot of them. We thought it was funny. He'll only be wearing it to go see family.

Tasha - CSR is nice, but we were a bit disappointed. It's really big! I found it too big for my liking. No big deal about the Pepper Market/gratuity. I thought the food was pretty good and the "service" was good too. I think we were disappointed though because it wasn't the Wilderness Lodge and that is our favorite.
P.S. Way to go Kylie on rolling over!!

SeeDisney: I am BFing only and got my period after only 6 weeks! I was not happy!!!

Well, Jace finally had his first bottle of formula after trying for a week with numerous kinds of bottles. He accepted the playtex ventaire and I am so happy. I will start him with one bottle per day and work up to only BFing once or twice a day. Honestly though, I am going to miss BFing him!

Question for you all: Honestly, how would you feel if you went back to work and your DH stayed home with your baby/kids to raise them?

It is pretty much out of the question financially for me to stay home with Jace. Since I make more money than DH, there is a possibility in the near future that DH could stay home with him while I work. I just don't think I'd be ok with it. I know I'd be super jealous!! (but I'd also be happy not to have Jace in daycare). It may never happen, but just wondering how you'd all feel, since I have such mixed emotions about it.

joats- I'm so glad that Jace took a bottle! I swear by the Playtex brand.

I think I would be okay with DH staying home with the kids. The bottom line is what is best for Jace? I think staying home with Daddy in most cases would beat going to daycare. The only reason I could see it not working is if your DH did not enjoy it. I think this would be ideal at least for baby's first year or two. Personally I think it is beneficial for kids from about 2.5+ on to be in SOME sort of daycare or preschool environment for a couple hours a day, a few days a week. I think they learn adaptability and better social skills that way. But that's just me.

I don't think my DH would enjoy it- he is a social hound and needs to be around other people (adults) all day and likes excitement in his day. But if your DH really wants to do it, I think it would be awesome! And I think you would get over your jealousy- wouldn't you rather have DH telling you about all the cool things Jace did that day versus a babysitter? One of DH's best friend is full time dad to his two kids and he LOVES it. He still works parttime outside the home, but he and the kids have really thrived on him being at home.

Tykes -- what is your Tyler's middle name?? My Tyler's middle name is Jordan with the planning on calling him TJ but so far we're not calling him by TJ just Tyler or Ty at times.

Joats -- My husband wouldn't be able to stay home with our four kids. He's is the perfect example of NON-MULTI-TASKING. He can only do one thing at a time. And nothing would get done around the house. I don't see a maternal instinct in him as well. And I really appreciate this one....my husband told me it's harder to stay home with the kids (we have four) then it is to go to his work.

Anyone experience achiness in their joints or neck for a long time. I have this with baby #2 and baby #3 and baby #4, Tyler. I'm sick of popping extra strength tynelol-sp? all the time. I'm breastfeeding and giving Tyler two bottles of 3 oz of soy formula a day.

Mom to DS 9, DD 7 1/2, DS 3 and baby Tyler -- four weeks old now.

joats~ In answer to your question about your dh staying home with Jace, I'd say it sounds like a great idea. If you can't stay home with him who better than daddy? Of course I completely understand the jealousy issue b/c I think I would be really jealous at first too. But I agree with what Alice said. Who would you rather hear it from, your dh or a daycare worker? If it would be easier to hear from the daycare worker then maybe that would be a better decision for you and your family. Otherwise, I'd be okay with dh staying home. That is something you and your dh will really have to discuss openly and honestly.

As far as my dh, he is happy with me staying home with Kylie but has admitted that he could not be a SAHD unless absolutely necessary. He likes to be out and interact with adults and do manual labor type things. He would not be happy staying home all day. I am okay with that as I know everybody is different and he does take her out occasionally to give me a break. As a matter-of-fact, he and Kylie are gone right now and I have the house to myself. But anyway, I know how hard it is on you knowing you can't stay home with him and I hope things get easier. Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for your replies.
Oh, clearly by far, Jace staying home with DH would be much better than daycare. DH is an awesome Dad. If DH had b***s, Jace wouldn't need me. LOL! After my awful c-section, DH pretty much took care of Jace for the first 2+ weeks aside from nursing. The problem is we both would love to stay home and be his caregiver. I just would have to resign to the fact that I would not be able to be the one staying home with him and that's really what I want to do. I think I would be really jealous and a little angry that he got to do it and I didn't (hopefully, I'd get over it). Right now I think we are (financially) stuck with the daycare route until at least January, but it sure is something to consider for the not so far off future. But as far as DH vs. daycare - oh, totally DH. He would be great and Jace would surely benefit. I just always hoped and wished that I could do it. These past 10 weeks have been amazing. I will always cherish this time I have had with Jace and I'm thankful I had the opportunity.

SeeDisney: I had really bad achiness/joint pain. I think I had it up until 5-6 weeks maybe? DH thought I should get checked for Lyme at one point. It did go away though.

Hope you all have a great night!

SeeDisney, I still have achey joints, DD is 8 weeks old. I did not have this after my 1st two pregnancies. Did you swell alot during pregnancy? I swelled really bad with this pregnancy, feet, calves, thighes, hands arms - I truly was a lovely sight  . My hands still hurt alot, more when I first wake up or try to make a fist. My rings still do not fit either. I didn't swell with my first 2 pregnancies either so I was associating it to the swelling but I don't know.

Joats, I wouldn't have a problem with DH staying home but whenever he takes a few days off, he always says he's ready to go back to work so he can get some rest.

Congrats on Jace taking a bottle. I remember DS8 would take any kind of bottle. DD5 she would not take anything but me for the 1st 6 monthes of her life. Mary Grace has only had 2 bottles so far, 1 playtex and 1 Advent - she's not picky, she took both.

Joats,
I hope you post some pics of Jace in his hot dog costume on Halloween. I'm sure he will be too cute :teeth: ! There are so many cute baby costumes on that site.

I can understand your jealousy on having your DH be the stay at home parent. I feel so lucky that I am able to be home right now but I know DH wants me to get a "real" job within the next few months. I say "real" because right now I do baby-sit other kids in my home but I don't make much money. I'm not trying to insinuate being a SAHM isn't a job! Anyway, I know I would be very jealous if he got to be with kids more than I did.

Robin,
I just ordered one of those bags. We have a small diaper bag and I needed one that was a bit bigger. For that price you can't really go wrong!

After my oldest was born I was able to talk my full time job to a part time one. (when she was 4 months old) I worked 2 1/2 days a week Tuesday, Thursday and half days Fridays, (or every other Friday off, it was very flexible.) I made my own shcdule with the patients so it worked well.) Hubby taught college and was (and still is) off on Fridays.) He wacthed her Fridays and then July and Aug too (when we were not on vacation. In typical men fashion all he could get done was one thing at a time, but I didn't mind. (also when the baby slept he wacthed T.V. something I almost NEVER do.) However it worked out well. He got to spend much more time with Anna as a baby then he ever did with Lily.

I had a dream the other day that I got a new job, a place I know would hire me if I contacted them, but the pay isn't good so I havne't. However after that dream I relaized that I am NOT ready to go back. It really wouldn't make our income that much bigger with childcare and gas and higher taxes.

Anna took an Avent bottle fine if I wasn't around. (good thing since I worked part time). We gave Lily a bottle here and there a few weeks after she was born and didn't think much about it. After all it is easier to just nurse her then pump and nurse. When she was 8 weeks old I left her for more then 2 hours for the 1st time and she would not have anything to do with the bottle. After that she would never take one. When she was 5 months old or so I asked around on dis and got the suggestion of the platex nurser. She would take it if she was in the mood, but still wanted mom. Even now she isn't big on bottles, but it doesn't matter much any more. ;)

Tasha, I remember reading awhile back that you live in Miss. (I think). If so, I hope you are all safe and hopefully not in the direct path. Looks like a monster is headed your way. I will be thinking about you.

Yes, Kristy, we do live in MS, but we live in NE MS. We are close to both AL and Memphis, TN. So we are not in the direct path, but thanks for thinking of us! :goodvibes We usually get tons of rain from hurricanes but that's about it.

But my prayers are with those who are in it's path...including southern MS!

Tasha, that's great that you guys won't be too affected by the storm. I feel so bad for the people in the direct hit areas. My in-laws all live in New Orleans and evacuated to Florida and I really hope their homes aren't badly damaged. MIL and FIL only live a few blocks from Lake Pontchartrain, and I heard that area is flooded. It's so hard to lose all of your stuff that you've saved so long to accumulate. It's really sad.

I'm glad to hear you're not in the direct path. Hopefully it won't be too bad for you then.

OMG- I haven't been able to get on this thread in a few days and I missed so much!

Kristi- thanks for the ideas of what to bring. I am going to Babies' R Us to get a mesh stroller cover for the bugs. We have a rain one but I want one for the bugs at night expecially if we take Christopher on the boat ride to DT from POR at night. I'm definitely going to get the inflatable tub as well. What kind of sunblock are you going to use? I plan on keeping the baby out of the sun as much as I possibly can, but I know I won't be able to keep everything covered 100% of the time. I have the waterbabies stuff spf 50- what do you plan on using?

I'm watching CNN with the storm coverage and wondering why those reporters are putting themselves in such harm's way being outside? :confused3 Granted, I appreciate what they are doing in keeping us informed and know that they are doing their job but some of them can't even stand up with all of the wind and they are trying to report.

I hope everyone that lives in the storm's path is ok. :grouphug:

seedisney - We have a Tyler Joseph :) Right now it's just Tyler. Maybe when I have to yell across the room for him to not do something it might be shortened to Ty, but right now just Tyler.

I'm glad you guys aren't in the direct path, Tasha! I'm still sending prayers for all of those who will be affected. Of course this thing has to have our dd's name. I'm going to save the newspaper report on the storm so she can see what her hurricane did when she's older. Those reporters are insane. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them ends up injured by flying debris. I even saw one standing in knee deep flood waters :earseek: !

I think Katrina still has her days and nights mixed up. She will sleep for hours during the day but at night she is either awake or will only sleep for an hour or two. I have been waking her up after three hours during the day but after she eats she passes right back out. Does anyone have any tips for switching her schedule around so she sleeps longer at night?
