DisneyPhD, we have a pillow for Madison now too, but she sleeps on her tummy mostly so she never uses it. We gave it to her when she was sick too at first, but she never really took to the idea. She has been in a bed since 14 months, but for the past month or so has been sleeping on the floor. This week we put a fleece receiving blanket on the floor for her since it just looked so uncomfortable (it's carpeted, but still). We still have a pillow there, but mostly so she doesn't hit her head on my nighttable-she really doesn't use it as a pillow though. It's sorta weird having her sleep on the floor, but she'll sleep all night (or sometimes wake up once to make sure I'm still in the room) so that's fine with me!
Oh, just to clarify, I'm definitely going to Nashville with Joey for his interview, but I'm still unsure of the Arizona interviews. Nashville is 2 days/1.5 nights (we get home around midnight the 2nd night) so I'm sure I'll manage that one. I don't want to take her with us to that one cause they provide a tour of the area and housing with a realtor (yea for that one, a pushy realtor in a town I might not even live in!) and members of the hospital. I really want to do that cause if we do end up there I'd like to have some background on the area before we have to move. We find out where we'll be going on March 16th and then have to move in June, so not much time to explore the new area to find adequate housing.
So my mom will definitely be watching Madison for that trip. Then we got to Minnesota that weekend and Madison is coming with us for that. We have the whole weekend there so we'll drive around exploring the area (and visiting the Minneapolis area too since we've never been ther). My only fear is that it will be so cold while we're there that it will turn me off to living there. We get back from Minnesota on 1/16 and then we'd leave for Arizona on 1/18, probably in the afternoon. So that's what I'm not sure about. It would be the 18th-23rd or 24th that we'd have to leave Madison, or just take her along. She'll still be under 2 so I guess I can always decide at the last minute and take her as a lap baby if I have to (though I can imagine how horrible that would be-holding a 23 month old on my lap on a plane for 5 hours!). I think she'd be fine on the weekdays with my mom since she's in school 3 hours, naps for 1-2 hours after she gets home, then goes to bed at 7, so she'd only be up for about 5 hours a day, but weekends would be a little more challenging for both Madison and my mom. It's good to hear positive reports from you Alice28, cause that gives me more confidence about it. I still don't know though, mostly cause we'd be so far that it's not like I can get back too easily.
Loretta, in your case I have no idea what I'd do. I think I said before that I was going to leave Madison for 4 nights when we took a Disney cruise when she was 3.5 months old but we ended up bringing her along instead. For you, the 2 nights has both pluses and minuses to taking her with you. You have the plus that it's only 2 nights so if it's hard then at least it's not a long time, but then the minus that it's a lot of gear to deal with and if she's unhappy with your schedule then you compromise a lot since you don't have much time there. Oh, and I bought some princess stuff for Madison in the smallest size too (I guess 2/3) but she can't fit into it yet. Thank gosh cause she has no interest in princesses whatsoever, and in fact was afraid of them when we were in Disney. She loves Buzz and Stitch though, and if I had known that I would have gotten more of their stuff instead.
