I haven't been on here in ages, but I've seen the carseat on airplane question come up so much on the family board so I think I can help with that.

You can't wear a baby in a carrier (Bjorn, sling, etc.) because in the event of a crash (on ground crash) the baby will act like a human airbag, coming between your body and the seat in front of you. That's why those Baby B'air vests aren't allowed to be worn during takeoff or landing either because they would do essentially the same thing.

I must have misunderstood ahutton; I thought we were talking about infant carriers (like the Graco Snugride) not carriers like the Baby Bjorn. I guess it kind of makes sense why you would have to take them out of the Baby Bjorn, but it made no sense to me to take them out of a Snugride. Although, passing through security in a Federal building in Chicago, they did make me take my 8 week old out of his carrier in the stroller.

It's not enjoyable, but I've carried a carseat on my back, a baby in a Bjorn on my front, and pushed a stroller with my 3yo in it and an infant carseat hanging off the handles when flying alone with them so it can be done..

Very impressive! :thumbsup2 It's amazing how skilled mothers become at carrying 50 million things at the same time!

And with regard to the stroller question-we have had our Maclaren Techno Classic broken twice on airplanes when we gate checked it. We then bought a cheaper, similar version that we usually take on planes, a Chicco C5. So I'd go with the snap and go frame rather than ruin a relatively new stroller if I had to make the choice.

Hope that helps-screaming boy!

Thanks for all the advice. I think I will use the Snap n' Go, especially since DS is pretty big and we probably won't be able to use the carrier much longer, so I wouldn't be as upset if that got broken as I would if our nice stroller was broken.

He has also stopped that screaming thing, thank goodness! He only did it for about 2 weeks, then it stopped. The other night I was out with a group and we were having a quiet discussion, and DS was just sitting silently in his carrier, sucking on his hands. All of the sudden everyone heard a tiny explosion coming from his area. Then I smelled it, and had to run out of the room to change him! I was slightly embarrassed at first, but all babies do it, so I guess it really wasn't a big deal.

I now officially have a disney baby!
Brennan decided that the best place for him to roll over for the first time would be the baby changing station in the rest room at the American pavillion.

Yay, Brennan! That is so exciting! Alex hasn't rolled all the way over yet, but he can get about half way. He has starting scooting around though, by kicking his feet off the floor and wiggling his body around. They are so much fun at this age, doing something new everyday!

Hey y'all! Quick post from me. I bought L'Oreals Glycolic Peel in hopes of rejuvenating my skin. You think it's safe to use while BFing? I can't find anything online. TIA! Hope you all are doing well!

Aww...that is soo cute :)

Brennan's been a regular rolling machine lately! It's so cute! he can turn over from his left side pretty well but not on his right and that frustrates him to no end. It's adorable (to me anyway)

Hi there! I can officially be a new mom now!!! :)

So now I have a question for you all.... Christopher is 6 weeks now, but still has no pattern to his day whatsoever. How old were your babies when there started to be a regular pattern to when they wanted to eat, nap, etc?

But other than no rhyme or reason to his day, he's doing great! He lost a ton of weight after he was born, but gained it all back. He's now 24" and 11lb13oz. And already outgrowing his 3 month old jammies :guilty: I can't believe he's growing up so fast!

Congratulations!!! :)

Pattern, what pattern? J/K. Hunter actually had a pretty good day to day pattern sleeping, eating, playing, etc. until he hit about 5 1/2 months. I think we had him on a schedule from about 3-5 1/2 months. Then he went through a growth spurt & the old schedule doesn't even work anymore. I'm trying to get him to sleep through the night again but right now he isn't having anything to do with that.

Hope you are doing well & enjoying being a mommy :)

Congratulations - he is growing fast! Alex is a big boy, too, in the 90-95% for both height and weight. He towers over his little cousin that is 3 weeks older than him, who is only 24" and 13lb2oz at 4 months! And his cousin is a boy, too, so that is pretty small for a boy. Alex was that size at 2 months, and now weighs over 16lbs, but I am not sure of his height b/c his next appt is in 2 weeks.

He actually got into a pretty regular pattern at exactly 7 weeks :cloud9:. He started sleeping through the night (8pm - 5am) and ate every 3-4 hours during the day. After he eats, he plays for a little while, then would take a nap anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours. I never stress about how much he sleeps during the day as long as it doesn't add up to too much and disturb his sleeping through the night, which it hasn't so far, except when he got his 2 month shots and that only lasted 2-3 nights. He has pretty much kept to this pattern so far, he is currently 15.5 weeks, except he now sleeps 8pm - 7am.

Oh, no, you mean they stop sleeping through the night?!? I am not looking forward to that!

That will not necessarily happen. My dd started sleeping through the night at 2 months old and has ever since. She's 2 years old now.

hey Jen :) Congrats on the baby :) Can we see a pic?

I don't think that DS has a specific schedule during the day. He rarely naps too so can't help you there. We have had him on a schedule at night since he was about 5 or 6 wks old though and he has slept through the night since day 2 (day 1 we started him too late and he was already overtired). At 6 I cluster feed him for an hour then at 7 he gets a bath and then it's change, ****ie, and bottle. Then we have to keep him kinda upright for 20 mins or so (usually on a shoulder) because of his reflux and he is usually fast asleep in his crib by 8:30 at the latest. He will sleep until 4:30 or 5:30 and then wake up to eat and then sleep for another hour and a half. However, for the past few days he's been waking up around 2 or 3 (which doesn't work out nearly as well) and having a bit of a harder time to fall back to sleep. I'm wondering if it isn't related to some kind of growth spurt or something.

Hey! I wondered where this thread went! Congrats Jen!

Hey, at what age do they roll over again? I can't remember.

I think it is normal to roll over anywhere from 2 months on. Alex rolled from front to back around 13 weeks, but still can't get from back to front. He gets stuck on his side then decides he is comfortable and will often take a nap like that. :rotfl:

Hi new mommies! Our daughter Abigail Martha was born May 23rd, so almost 2 weeks ago. She is such a good little girl :) Nights are tough though but I guess that's to be expected. She doesn't like sleeping in her cradle and would prefer to be held at night, but that's not an option. Mommy needs to sleep!! We have a little low to the ground rocker that vibrates and she likes that. The wierd part is that during the day I can get her to sleep in the rocker or the pack-n-play but nighttime is a different story. DH says she is a true Gemini :) She's happy and healthy though and for that I am truly grateful. I can fight through the sleepless nights. I'm nursing and that is going well, though it's exhausting. Most days she nurses every 3 hours but yesterday and today it's been every 2 so I am feeling sort of like a cow lately :)

Hope all of you are doing well :)

Wow, what a slow thread. We must all be chilling on the couch eating bon-bons. :happytv:

;)

Anyway, so I just started a new thread on trading formula coupons. I get Similac, Enfamil and Nestle Good Start coupons (actually they are checks) frequently in the mail. I only use Similac, so I'm happy to trade the others for some of those.

Here is the thread if you want to participate!

Congrats!!! Where is that obligatory picture we have to have??? Hurry up!!!

Welcome KPM! Can't wait to see pictures of little Abigail!

Well, Alex has managed to roll over both ways now, so he's rolling all over the place. He's so active, I know I won't be able to keep up with him when he is walking.

Hi Guys ... My DS, Alex, is going to be 7 weeks on Tuesday and is growing like a weed. He was 13lbs 13oz at his last appointment on 5/31. He is probably over 14lbs now. He was 23.5 inches.

We have no pattern to our day either ... sometimes he gets on a really nice three hour schedule but then he falls off. We were at WDW last weekend with my mom and he did a GREAT job ... he was asleep at 10pm, up at 2am for a bottle (his only bottle of the day and I have since discontinued that) and then not up again until 4pm. Now that we are home he's back to every 2.5 hours at night but I have also stopped with the early AM bottle and gone back to breastfeeding.

I was reading all the travel questions. We are traveling (aside from WDW) for the first time in two and half weeks. Flying from Fort Lauderdale to Boston for a week or two. All our family is in MA but we are staying in the city for the first five nights and then going down to my parents on the Cape for the rest of the time. We are flying JetBlue on a friday evening. My DH's boss got the tickets, so DS is a lap baby for that flight. Does anyone know if JetBlue allows you to use a seat if it's not a full flight??? I suspect for a Friday night it will be booked but maybe we will get lucky. We are going to bring our big stroller because we will be going around the city for a few days and DS doesn't like his carseat for long so I couldn't do all that with the snap and go, I don't think. I am worried that the airline with destroy the stroller ... we have the Chicco Cortina.

Anyway ... I haven't seen this thread for a while and would like to join you guys ... I guess with all these new babies I shouldn't be suprised that this thread gets lost!!! NO time to post ... :-)

I'm so excited! Christopher started sleeping 6 hours every night for the past 5 nights!!!!! And he smiled at me for real yesterday! :cloud9: Brian tried to get him to smile at him too, but no luck. He does smile at the dog every time he sees him...... :lmao:

Sorry, I can't figure out posting pics. Every time I try, it comes back that the file is too large. Someday, when I have a computer of my own, I'll get better at this stuff.

Uh oh...the dreaded time has come. Brennan has sprung a tooth already (just barely) it started poking out yesterday (on the day he ht 4 months!). It's the bottom right side one and the one on the left isn't far behind. I could have sword I would have at least another month and a half before having this issus pop up.
We are leaving for Toronto in a couple of days for a friend's wedding so of course THE thing that makes babies super fussy and cranky and cry-y would have to pop up.

:)
