DH and Lucas seem to be a little better this evening and I still haven't gotten hit but like Jill said, it comes quick.

llij - :grouphug: I'm so sorry you have to cancel your trip. I hope there's some way you can make it up.

icebrat - FWIW, I have the healthy care booster seat. I like how it's portable and the tray is dishwasher safe. My diaper bag is a $10 clearance from Old Navy. After having to hose it down several times because of spilled sippy cups and cracker crumbs, I'm glad I didn't pay $300+ for one and I happen to LOVE Coach. To each his own. Tess is adorable, by the way. princess:

lissawynn - Sorry you caught the bug. :guilty:

tasha - Good memory! My sister is quite "generous" when it comes to sharing disease and spending my money.

alice28 - Good news about your friend's baby! :cheer2:

Sorry for the half-update again, but I have to go and make some Jello. Hope no more of us get sick!

Oh no!

Jill, I hope you and your family have a speedy recovery. More than likely it's a 24-36 hour bug. If I were you I would seriously leave tomorrow early in the morning, if you have to pull over a zillion times go ahead, check into the hotel on the road, rest a little, continue driving, and by the time you get to disney you will be all better.

Anyone ever see a kid that didn't know what Mac and Cheese is. :lmao: Lol, she looked down at her plate and said what is that, that looks nasty, and I said it's macaroni and cheese, and she said what is that, yucky. So I put one in her mouth and now she is gobbling it down. Now she doesn't want anything else but mac and cheese. :sad2:

BTW - She slept a little over 3 hours, I hope she goes to bed tonight.

GLT- I think I will go into the store and look at booster seats on Wednesday, that way DP and I can go together, I will let you know what I find, however Zalansky recommended the 1st one on the page.

Everyone - I am sticking with the spelling of Tess, the other way just does not look right at all.

Tasha - You've probably been more places in Tampa than I have, we haven't done anything, except seaworld, busch gardens, international plaza, and a tampa bay lightening hockey game.

Robin - :lmao: :lmao: about the skates. Did he see any blood.
Nice to know that the baby is doing better. :cheer2:

Sorry ladies, gotta run, she wants a refill on that mac and cheese, I am dising from the table

Ice- aren't you super tall by skating standards? From the *little* I know about skating, isn't it harder to land jumps if you are tall? Something about your center of gravity? Just wondering.

That's cute about Tess and the Mac n Cheese. my kids, for whatever reason, hate it. I don't like it either unless it's really good and creamy & freshly made...DH loves the box stuff.

Yep, I'm 5'9'', it not really the center of gravity, it's more of skating being more difficult because you have long legs. It's harder to jump higher in the air, and you are more likely to over wrap your legs which makes the jump look really really ugly! If you have a good coach they will correct your wrap before the habit becomes impossible to break.

Well, DP is FINALLY home :cheer2: so we are going to go to target and get some diapers and stuff.

Jill - :guilty: I'm so sad to hear about your trip. I wish I could send some real pixie dust and make all of you feel better. That is just awful. I hope you all miraculously recover and are able to leave tomorrow. I also hope John is spared. Those viruses can be so nasty. My sitter was sick today. We told her to take tomorrow off but she is a work horse and refuses to take off. Luckily, her DH is a bus driver and was home during the day to take care of the kids. Anyway, fell better!

I really wish DH was home tonight. I have research papers to grade and the kids are still up. I'll be so happy when I get them done.

Jill - OH NO!!! Pixie dust and prayers for a VERY short virus. I'm so sorry. :grouphug: :grouphug: Don't give up quite yet!

icebrat - you're gonna sleep good tonight, I'll bet!!

lissawynn - sorry you've caught "it"...I'm hoping "it" stays away from here -haven't heard of any problems so far. Feel better soon!

sl - stay well!

Ugh - bath time for fussy boy. DH has had him for an hour or so. Gotta run! Good night everyone!

Hi friends. How is everyone?????

It has been a while since I have posted here, but I try to keep up some.

Still Icebrat I have to say I was pretty shocked to see you posting here. I have been trying to piece together the situation, and I see that you and DP now have Tess (who seems to be very close in age to my Lily.)

Still I can't figure out the whole story. Is this permanent? Foster care? Adoption? Caring for a friends child?

Anyway congrats and welcome home Tess. :cool1:

Everyone else Hi!

We head down to WDW in less then 3 weeks. We are staying at BCV and are looking forward to it. Just tying to get Christmas taken care of and we can deal with the rest later.

I'm headed off to bed. What a crazy day - DH was 10X worse than Lucas. :sad2: As long as I don't wake up in the middle of the night with "IT", then I'm heading into work to escape tomorrow. :rotfl2:

icebrat - Congrats on surviving your first day of motherhood!

If you participated in the SS exchange and have not sent or received a package, please send me a PM ASAP!

Jill- I am so sorry that you are sick and may have to cancel your trip. I you do, I can send each of the kiddos a postcard and gift from Mickey. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that John doesn't get sick. We all had the same virus in October, and it was the pits.

icebrat- Cute pics of Tess and her room. You truly did the best thing for her.

DisKim- Hope you feel better soon.

Gems- Glad you liked the gifts.

SL- Hope you don't get sick as well.

nucpharm- I like your new tag.

GLT- Did you get the package that I sent yet?

Alice- Portland sure has been in the news a lot lately.

Hi to all other Moms! I'm working on finishing up our WPASADI project.

TTFN!

:lmao: Nuc- I meant to comment on your tag the other day- hey, I gave you that name too! :rotfl2:

Jill- most stomach bugs we've ever had have only lasted 24 hours or so. I truly hope you all are well on your way to WDW in a day or so.

J&D- hope things are going well for your team. I'm mighty pleased with my team this week.... :bitelip: I wish I could share, but can't! Yes, Portland sadly is in the news a lot this last week or two. I wish it were about something more upbeat- I love my city.

I need to head to bed soon...I'm very tired. I'm ready for Christmas! I can't wait to see the kids' reactions to all their goodies. And to see what I am getting from DH! My mom knows and she said something about how he spent a lot of money on me and I'll be pleased....Hmmmmmmmm......And I ended up getting him pots and pans, flipflops and a radio headset. Whoopee!

Did I tell you guys he knows about the pots? Ugh! I took the kids with me Saturday morning. He called me while we were out and I just said, "I'm out shopping for you." So, we go to lunch at he asks Sam where Momma went...Sam was sly and said, "Target....we bought you 4 pistols and a war movie." DH furrows his brow and says, "Joshua- where did Mommy take you today?" I nudge Josh and shoot him the evil eye, and without missing a beat he says, "Costco....but we DIDN'T BUY YOU POTS!" :rotfl: Darn that DH! I even put the label on the gift, "To Mom, Love Robin and Bob." I told him I was returning it, but of course I'm not. What a poop he is.

OK, well I'm off for a hot bath and some Unofficial Disney World Guide reading. See ya all tomorrow!

Just a quick drive by from me this morning as the babysitting should commence soon--DH isn't feeling hot--but at least not barfing! So I'm crossing fingers!

Alice--I got that tag from SL--I thought that quote from you was just perfect!! :rotfl:

Jill--How are things!! I told DH about you guys and he said "If it were me, we'd just get in the car and go--How could we miss Christmas at Disney!"

Well, better go! Matthew is screaming--not a good start to the day!

Morning Ladies,

Jill - How is everyone doing?

I *think* I am going to be brave and attempt to take Tess somewhere, I need to get her out of the house for an extended period of time and run down all her energy. She woke up a thousand times last night and she woke up at 6am! Nothing is even open yet. Hopefully I survive the 2nd day of motherhood, or else I'm going to have to take something to "mellow" me. It's a lot easier watching someone elses kid and giving the kid back at the end of the day than having one 24/7!

Good morning!

Just wanted to check in and say hello. We are heading to the mall today to shop for DH - so Robin, I am very jealous you are ready for Christmas and I am so not ready! I don't even know what to get him.

Also Robin maybe your gift is a DVC contract? :goodvibes

Jill - hope you are all on the mend and can possibly leave today for WDW. How many hours is it in the car?

Hermosa - I keep meaning to forget to congratulate you on your beautiful grandaughter! :cloud9:

Icebrat - how did you all survive the night? How is Tess doing? And why is everyone asking you so many questions about whether you really adopted, or are fostering, etc? Who cares really, as long as she is living with you and DP and being cared for by you both now - why does everyone give such a hoot about all of the legality parts of it? I don't get that....and yes I saw the thread on the CB board and that's part of why I am asking!

DH emailed me a link to a house he found online last night, while I suppose bored in his hotel room. I think he is coming around more and more to the idea of moving to NC. This house is just what I'd want!

Anyway have a good day ladies. See you later!

Which mall are you going to?

ETA: Do your kids like the Doodlebops? They will be in Clearwater and Orlando this month.

ARGHHHHH!!! I just had a long post typed out and Connor made me lose it. Anyway we are going to Intl Mall today. I have a MAC giftcard from last Xmas I need to use for myself and I am going to Nordstrom to get Dh some clothes that he will likely return. He is super picky. They have a nice big play area there also for the kids so that is a plus.

Busch Gardens would be a great place to take Tess. They have an area dedicated to little kids called Land of Dragons. Yesterday was great because they have Xmas music playing throughout the park so it was very festive. Plus the free beer samples helped. The weather is perfect right now!

Anyway I am hopping in the shower. See you ladies later :wave2:

Wow Loretta - that house is GORGEOUS! If you were to put that exact house in my town it would cost $800 K. NC has very nice houses for excellent prices. How are the schools?
Do you think you and the hubby are going to take a look at it next week?
Sounds like you had a great time at Busch Gardens yesterday!

Icebrat - Most 2.5 year olds take one long nap during the day however in my experience I try to get the nap over in the 12-2 pm time window so come 7:30/8 pm they're ready for bed. Once Tess settles down she'll sleep better for you. My baby Liam didn't sleep through the night his whole first year of birth (or maybe he did 3 times, but not more than that). Sleep deprivation comes with the territory, but you will get used to having less sleep and being a lighter sleeper when Tess starts to move around in the night. LOL at the Doodlebops - they're very "perky" but perfect for a 2 year old.

Jill - YOU POOR THING! :grouphug: :guilty: I feel so bad for you and your family getting the stomach bug at the worst time ever. I hope you can still salvage your trip for Christmas.

J&D and Alice and Ginamarie - hope your teams are doing well in your contest!

Alice - a warm bath and reading your WDW book sound heavenly. Thanks for your info about the playdates.

Nice to see you again DisneyPhD!

Gotta run - work break over!

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for the well wishes. This bug sure was nasty! I'm exhausted since I pretty much didn't sleep last night. Thankfully it was very mild for Katie. She just got sick twice and is like a new person today. John seems to have a mild case of it, but (knock on wood) he managed to eat and drink some earlier this morning and he is fine.

My dad is all better and my mom is fine so they decided to leave today with Meagan and Katie. I'm glad at least they can go since Meagan was terribly sad last night about missing WDW.

Dave and I will try to take off this afternoon if John is ok or worst case scenario we will leave tomorrow or the next day. Say some prayers that Dave stays healthy. It is a 12-14 hour trip so if we leave today we can try to get to Georgia and call it a night.

Sorry to be rambling....I'm so pooped! I'm just glad that I got it the worst and not the kids.

I wish you all the best! Have a very Merry Christmas!

Jill: Oh No! I am so sorry to hear about the pukefest in your home!! I hope John does not get it and that you are all able to still go on your trip. But, I can't imagine being in a car with the stomach bug - ICK!

SL: Hope you are safe from the bug. Stay at work!! We had it around Halloween - it was awful.

IceBrat: Congrats on Tess making it to her new home. Her room is adorable. Sounds like you did a great job with her on your first day. She is so cute!!! Love the photos. It will be an adjustment period for her I'm sure, but sounds like she's in a very loving home. How cool that you used to skate so much. My niece has been skating for a few years now. Right now she is taking private lessons and conditioning classes. She sure has come a long way from her first steps on the ice. My 3 y/o nephew will start lessons this January. When Jace is big enough I'm sure he'll join them so Grandpa (my dad) can have his mini-hockey team (Our family is pretty big into Hockey).

DisneyPhD: So great to see you. How exciting you have a trip coming up. How are the girls?

Cabmom: Dean gets cuter every time you post a picture!!

GLT: I can't even begin to post what I'd like to say. What a jerk he is. Stay calm. He's trying to get you all worked up. Stick with the data - there is no way he'd get the kids.

Z: Gorgeous home. It's a McMansion!! Have fun shopping!

Robin: Your DH is sneaky!!

J&D: How's the (Wapasadi???) newest project going?

Hi GM, Nucpharm, Tasha, Lissawyn, Tamie, DisKim, Val, FF, Fab, BNB, Ryan, and anyone else I'm missing.

I am home with Jace today. He has a bad cough and "allegedly" he had a fever at daycare yesterday so he can't return for 24 hours after the fever. He's been fine and no fever. It's so frigging hot in the daycare, he probably was just overheated. I on the other hand feel like crap. My sinuses are bad and I have the sore throat, cough thing again. I swear DH, Jace and I just had this. Well, I'm back on the codeine cough syrup again. I am sick every year for Christmas. I'm so bummed. It has to be stress related triggering. I have been so busy at work it's been insane. Plus, all the stuff I need to do around here to prepare for the holidays - I guess my resistance is down. That and Jace constantly putting his germ filled fingers up my nose and in my mouth. ICK!!

I'm going to go rest up a bit, while I can. Before T-Rex wakes up and makes me watch Choo-Choo Soul 100 times in a row again. I curse you and your Choo-Choo Genevieve!!! :)

Hopefully I can check back later on.
:)

DH is going to work from home today and Lucas is much better and at my parents'. Tomorrow is our office Christmas party and I came in to find a packet of "fun and games" on my desk. Last year I won the 'how many words can you make from this word' game so I'm hoping to dominate the word challenge again this year. You can never have enough cheesy Christmas-scene coffee mugs on your desk. For some reason I can't figure out, we all have to wear name tags with our Christmas name on them. I'm "Stocking".

llij - That's great that you can still make the trip! The one thing about this bug is that while nasty, at least it's short-lived. Have a safe drive!

J&D - How's the project coming? I admit I'm a bad cheerleader this go-round. I'm not even paying attention.

alice28 - :lmao: about Josh giving the gift away!

nucpharm - I meant to mention that I was admiring your new tag. ;)

icebrat - Good luck again today. I'm sure once Tess is more familiar with her surroundings she'll start sleeping better for you. Did she sleep through the night at her old home?

zalansky - What a gorgeous house! I'm with Hillbeans - That would cost 3X more where I live.

hillbeans - :wave2: Work breaks never last long enough, do they?

joats - Oh no! I can't believe you're all sick again. :guilty: I feel you on the Choo Choo pain...when it comes on Lucas yells out "all aboard" (well, I know that's what he's trying to say) and I roll my eyes privately.
