TGIF MOMS!

Cabmom - VERY COOL that you met Ryan Gosling and I love your pic with him, it came out great! I had no idea he was on the Mickey Mouse Club too with JT, Christina and Britney. That must be so exciting they are filming on your street. I wonder how they pick an area out like that?

Diskim - sorry about the dog situation too. Hope it works out. Did DH get any more info on the salary on that job offer? I hope that works out too!

Staci - I love your new siggie pics. I have one of my DD with the flowers too and I just love it.

GLT - congrats on booking your trip! That place looks awesome and like someone else already said, I would just take your DD out of school and tell them you'll be on an extended weekend trip with family.

Ginamarie - so glad you guys had such a good time at the game. You've got me craving hot dogs at 9am!!!

As for weekend plans Mike and I are going to Howl O Scream tomorrow night with some of his friends that are very funny....we go with this group every year. They act very juvenile but it fits the occasion. :thumbsup2

I have to run, I won the Ebay auction for the cart cover so I need to go pay for that and also....take a shower!!! Connor also received the Crocs I ordered him yesterday in the mail and they are too freaking adorable on him! And he loves them, he asked if he could wear them to school today. That's my boy! I sould order him some Jibbitz now.

We have a playdate this afternoon with a new group I joined, I am terribly un-optimistic about it after my issues with the other groups but I am going to give it one more try. It is very close to home and I am going late so if it stinks I can hightail it after an hour.

Hope y'all have a great day - I may be back later when the kids are sleeping after lunch.

ETA: SAD NEWS. Remember I told you girls last week DH's cousin was pregnant after trying for 6-7 years? She had a miscarriage yesterday morning and to make matters worse her husband was out of town, his mom had died of cancer a day prior. We are so sad for them both.

GLT- That room looks so nice. $89 is an incredible deal. I would just let your DD skip the day. Otherwise you’ll have the pressure of trying to get her to school. I’d tell the teacher that you’re taking a family vacation. I can’t imagine it would be a big deal, especially that it’s just one day off.

DisKim- Sorry that Aidan has been so clingy. Olivia gets like that too, but she’s not 32 lbs yet. I wind up carrying her around the house with me while I do everything one handed (brushing teeth, putting things away, etc).

Zalansky- Have fun at the Howl O Scream! I’m so sorry about your DH’s cousin. She must be devastated.

Stupid Mets and their stupid pitchers! I’ll check back in later. Olivia’s ready for some fruit.

I fell asleep at 8:30 last night so now I have to finish baking stuff. Ugh. I should hae just spent the money and bought stuff instead. I might still do that, just bake a tray of brownies and then stop at the store for something else. I have peanut butter cookies so far. 32 of them. You'd think I'd have gotten further, but I had laundry to do last night too and after I took the last tray of cookies out I decided to sit on the couch for a few minutes and I ended up falling asleep. 46 people is the max we'll have but I doubt we'll have nearly that many, I think around 30. So now I have to wash my 9x13 pan cause I used it for Madison's cake the other night (we went with cake not cupcakes-her decision). I wasn't thinking clearly at the time otherwise I would have realized I would need the pan for this and would have not offered it as an option instead of the cupcakes. My husband is on overnight call tomorrow so I guess I'll just use my day alone to catch up with this thread since it doesn't look like it will happen today. Lucky him, his first time alone with both kids and then he has to work 30 hours tomorrow. And trust me, I'll be maximizing my hours out of the house tonight so he'll be own his own about 5 hours. If it were me they'd only be awake about 2 of those 5 hours, but I doubt he'll get both in bed by 7ish.

Morning :sunny:

glt - Congrats on the room! It looks great and what a deal! If your daughter is doing well in school, I would have her miss. I would just tell them today that she'll be out Monday for a family trip.

zalansky - I'm so sorry about your DH's cousin. How awful! Enjoy your evening, it sounds like fun. I love crocs on little kids. What color did you get him?

cabmom - that's very cool! Great picture too!! I forgot to tell you how cute Dean's picture was the other day :)

diskim - Sorry about the dog situation. Maybe DH will have a change of heart when he sees the dog?

sl - Sorry you didn't have much luck shopping! Do you have an outlet near you at all? I had good luck with Tyler's fall stuuff at the Gap outlet.

staci - LOL, no thanks, I'll leave your laundry for you , I wouldn't want you to miss out! ;)

Tamie

Morning Ladies:

DisKim - sorry DH was not happy about the puppy. Depending on the type of dog it could be a great pet. Our dog is amazingly tolerant of the kids, including them climbingon her, pulling ears, sticking fingers in her mouth and all -- of course DH purposely annoyed the daylights out of her when she was a puppy so that she wouldn't mind the kids in later years -- who knew it would work. Good luck!

Zalansky :guilty: I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. :grouphug: That is horrible. I just saw a friend yesterday that lost a baby last year and is pg, now. Just had her 20 week ultrasound and I am so relieved for her. My heart goes out to the family. Good luck with the playgroup. Pretty cool that you have so many to find/choose from. I hope the kids have fun playing.

Tamie - what do I say when they say "where are you going?" Also I am SURE DD will mention it when she goes back to school. But a day with the family is a positive.

need to come back later, leif REALLY wants my attention.

Morning everyone! I'm playing hookie from grading my spelling tests and am trying to catch up with you all. I was in bed last night at 9 (again). I am just exhausted and feel like a whale. I've gained 18 lbs, which I don't think is a lot at 6 months, but I just feel SO big and uncomfortable.

Weekend plans...DH is going hunting tomorrow, so we won't see him until it's dark. I have to get to Target and buy diapers, wipes, baby soap, etc. I also need to get the stuff for my costume for our "Crazy Dress Day" next Friday. I'd like to get to the Children's Place and pick up some sweats for Jimmy and my nephew (that would finish off his Christmas gifts). Also, I need to do laundry and pack up some breakables in the kitchen. I just want them off the shelves in case my house gets totally messed up.

Alice - I'm glad you got your Stars Wars figures. I hope you're feeling better, too. Kim answered your grammar question, but if you ever need any practice stuff, let me know. I have tons of copies of stuff that might help.

cabmom - I love Ryan Gosling! He's such a cutie! Great pic!

DisKim - What breed of dog is the puppy? You could take Aidan to visit the puppies in a few weeks and see how they react to him. We were kind of worried about our German Shepherd when we brought Jimmy home b/c he was getting older, but he is so patient with Jimmy and loves him to death. He sleeps next to his crib and puts his nose under the crib bumper when Jimmy cries. I'd have concerns with a small breed of dog, but most people I know with larger dogs have never had issues with the dog and kids.

justthat - Good luck getting your baking done!

Ginamarie - Sorry the Mets couldn't win the game! DH is a Yankees fan and gets more and more disgusted with the team each year.

Welcome Staci!

zalansky - If you don't mind me asking, how much did the cart cover end up costing you? I found one I love on BRS, but it's $60. Have fun at the Howl O Scream. So sorry for your DH's cousin.

SL - I feel the same way about shopping for boys' clothes. It seems like everything looks the same. The stuff I got for Jimmy with my Gymbucks is nice and red is a different color for him.

GLT - Congrats on getting your room! I hope you can get the kids out of school without a problem.

I have to hit the bathroom once more before my class arrives! Have a great day and  to everyone I may have missed.

Morning!

Well, strange night with Carson. He was SO darn cute last night - he had a bit of a fever from the shots, but was in this awesome mood and just smiling and even giggling at everyone. DH put him down about 9:30, but by the time he went up to bed after we visited for awhile, he woke back up. I fed him and then he just tossed and turned and made noises until 12:15! He woke up again at 4 to eat and also had trouble settling back down to sleep - it was like he just couldn't stop moving around. Now this is so cute...he fell asleep on me and when DH got up for work, I felt him pick Carson up and put him in bed. Then in a half-sleep daze I heard him get the girls up and going, make their own lunches, and they shared Carson for awhile - all the time he's telling them not to wake me up. ;) So I faked it, of course because they were all so sweet!

lissawynn - I definitely remember teaching while pregnant and trying to "plan" bathroom runs - it was tricky!

GLT - definitely don't worry about taking DD out of school - family travel is a perfectly good reason and it's only one day. She's so young!

justhat - forget the baking and go to the store! $$ well spent imo. I cheated and bought cookies for a reception after the choir concert the other night and they didn't even end up having a reception - they gave the kids the cookies the next day.

zalansky - so sorry to hear about your DH's cousin and family...that is just terribly sad.

cabmom - SO COOL! I always smile when I see Ryan because he was on this Disney Channel show in the early 90's that Hayley just loved, called "Fast Forward". He was a meanie on that show, though.

diskim - just take DH to meet the dogs and then you can decide what to do - what kind are they? We had a cocker spaniel when the girls were babies and she did fine. Now we have a 7-year-old lab and I can leave Carson on the floor with him no biggie. The only thing I've seen the dog do is rub his head on Carson's feet as he was kicking - that dog will do ANYTHING to get some love!

SL - sorry you couldn't find much for Lucas. I'm beginning to see how boys fashions just aren't that much fun.

OOps...someone is screaming. Be back later!

/
Good morning all! TGIF! And better news for me--not only does DH's "hell week" at work end today, but after tomorrow, baseball is over! I shouldn't be so thrilled, but it was really sucking up our family time. After tomorrow, it'll only be Thursdays that are a royal pain.

GLT--I would just say that you had a family function. It's only one day, it's not going to hurt anything. Of course, I say this as one who gets calls from the principal because she's yanking her DD out for a week. But that was a whole week, and I still think the principal was out of line.

BTW, I'm with you on the sleeping through the night thing. LUke's almost 8 months, has 2 solid meals a day, plus 2-4 oz. bottles and nursing ~7 times a day besides. And he wakes up twice each night for "nummies and a cuddle". Meanwhile, he's now my Chunky Monkey, because he's getting so big--but we have to visit Mommy twice a night! I didn't make much of an issue at first, due to his weight problems, but it's just leaving me feeling like a zombie at this point. What has to happen (probably in your case, too), is when he fusses, DH has to get him and calm him back to sleep. My b00bs can't be anywhere around. Well, with DH's horrendous work schedule, I'm just not sadistic enough to ask him to put in the night hours necessary to do this for a few nights. But, that's what needs to happen.

Darn it! Sesame Street is over ALREADY! I'll have to catch up more later!

Mornin~

Not feeling great this AM. Miss Molly woke up in the middle of the night....I have a headache, my throat is still scratchy and my eyeballs are still bugging me, although the left one is def. improving.

Whinefest over.

Z- I am so sorry for your cousin's loss. Both her MIL and her baby. How truly awful. :guilty:

GLT- that room looks FAB! Sam skipped 4 days of school last year to go to WDW. No big deal. I told him teacher where we were going, and that was that.

Cabsmom- that's really cool about the movie being filmed on your street! Nice picture! A scene in that movie Bandits with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton was filmed in our neighborhood 5-6 years ago or so....where they show up at some random house for dinner. And one of the banks they rob is in our neighborhood too. My mom bought that movie for posterity. I remember I was 7 or 8 months pregnant with DS#2, and they were filming in the middle of the night....so DH went down to watch and was giving me play by play via the phone, cause I was too tired to go down and watch. Plus DS#1 was sleeping, so we couldn't leave him.

Kim- maybe your DH will change his mind about the puppy once he sees it? Molly has been a pill lately too, and she too weighs about the same as Aidan- no fun lugging that much weight around!

Diz- I would have done the fake sleep too, LOL!

justhat- I agree- go to the store and grab something, and enjoy the cookies later for your family! You have too much going on right now to also have that on your plate...

lissawynn- 18 pounds is great for 6 months! But i know how that can make you feel so huge....I think I gained only 20 total with Molly but just was so achy and tired...I think with Josh I gained 25 and was MISERABLE. Probably because every ounce was right there in my abdomen.

GM- sorry about the Mets.... :guilty:

BNB- I hear ya about the sports ending....we still have another 4 weeks of soccer. I skipped Sam's practice the other night because I felt so crummy. I did drag them all to the team pictures last night.

Oh, good news- my best friend who got fired from Old Navy called last night and left a message (I guess we were at the soccer thing) that she got a job as a manager for Children's Place! So now I can notify all you moms when they are having a good sale, and maybe she will give me coupons and stuff periodically. :goodvibes I know a lot of us shop there- I will have to check it out more often.

Hey all! Just a quick moment to post as I'm watching my dneice and DS today. My dsis took Emma for a day out w/o the babies! She (emma) is sooooo excited. Both babies are napping right now, so I got a shower and some phone calls done. I'm starting my training with Walgreen's on Monday, so wish me luck! Everytime I call to talk to the manager to set up a time, he seems really put out by the fact I'm calling. I suppose they don't want to waste much time with me b/c I'm only working 1 weekend a month, but jeez!

Alice--glad that one eye is getting better! Sorry about the headache and that Molly got up last night. Yeah for your friend getting the job--they just opened a new Children's place here, so defintely keep us up with the sales

GLT--Can you just tell the school that you have a family function planned and that you won't be back until Monday evening? We used to get pulled out of school all the time by our parents and the school never said anything--guess times have changed!

z--so sorry about DH's cousin--what an awful thing to have happen--Hugs to her and the whole family! :grouphug: Have fun at Howl o scream--and good luck with the playgroup.

bnb--glad to hear that your DH's bad week is over--I hate those weeks when DH works almost non-stop--we have one of those coming up the week of Halloween--good thing I'm not taking hte kids door-to-door trick or treating! Couldn't manage that by myself!

dizagain--that story about your DH and keeping the kids away so you could sleep just made me smile. :goodvibes DH did that for me one morning, and it was so sweet-cuz' yeah, I couldn't get back to sleep, but just to hear them trying was adorable! :cloud9:

tkyes--have fun scrapbooking!

lissawyn--18lbs by 6 months is great! I think I had gained at least oh, say 30lbs by then  Good luck getting all your errands done this weekend.

gina--sorry about the Mets

SL--good luck with the portrait this afternoon. I was about to type "no big plans for the weekend" but now that I think of it--we have a lot to do--tomorrow is my long training run day and then we are off to "Boo at the Zoo" for trick-or-treating. Then Sunday is church and then our small group is meeting here sunday night, so sometime this weekend I need to find time to clean up this pig sty!

diskim--sorry DH isn't happy with the dog. Our dog is great with kids, but you never know--maybe you could take your DH to see the puppies, and then maybe he would change his mind?

justhat--sorry you didn't get all the baking done yesterday. I have to agree that there is nothing wrong with store-bought, especially with a baby at home.

Well, I'm sure that the rugrats will be up soon and I have some laundry to put away! I also need to run to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription (my no more babies pill) and then back to TRU (Matthew has a little friend who turns 1 3 days after he does, so I"m going back to get another Little Tikes toy--that way I can get the buy1 get 1 (maybe knock out another xmas present). Ithink I've written off the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse from the list--I was reading the thread about it on the Budget Board and it seems like it's another one of those "hot toys" --and I am not going to fight somebody over it--that and I also read here by Staci and on the budget board that the slide doesn't stay on very well--so now I will just have to be creative!

I so should have listened to everyone here and just quit at the cookies cause I just put in my 2nd tray of brownies and forgot to grease the bottom of the pan. Can't wait to see how fun they'll be to take out. The 1st tray was greased and I still had trouble keeping them in their little square shape. I would ordinarily have just gone to the store right from the beginning, but the room moms doing apps/entrees are both cooking so I felt like I should too. Big mistake! I have to stop at the store anyway to pick up some cut fruit so I think I'll get another premade dessert too. Then we'll have the cookies, brownies, fruit, and whatever else I pick up.

Robin, I like your idea of saving the cookies for my family, but I know which family member would end up eating the majority of them and since I'd eventually like to wear my old wardrobe again...

Time to search for something to wear. Sorry I'm missing everyone today.

Diskim:oh puppies! that would be so much fun! i wish we could afford one right now, i would love a dog. maybe in a few years.......

zalansky: i am so sorry about your cousin's family. the playgroup sounds like fun; i wish i could find one around here. we have some friends that we get together with, but you never can have enough friends.

justhat: have fun baking.........

dizagain: i would have faked sleeping too!

buzznbellesmom: im glad im not the only one up a lot at night; dd still gets up 3 TIMES......uggh. I think she is in a pattern of not putting herself back to sleep so I am hoping I can get some help from dh this weekend cuz right now i am doing it all and i am so tired i dont even try to soothe her without nursing, it is just too easy.

Alice: I would love a job at the childrens place! unfortunately i have a 30 minute drive to get to one.

nucpharm: yeah the slide doesnt stay on AT ALL and the door thing doesnt even fit right on ours. I would take it back but ds still loves it so i may try to glue it or something - but for $40 I shouldnt have to use glue KWIM.

We had a playdate this morning. Just a friend of ours and her 2 year old. The boys didnt play very well together, for some reason that usually happens when they are together..........so I am exhausted already adn my house is a mess and i now hear the baby crying..........

Ta Ta for now. :teeth:

I'm contemplating bolting out the door right now. My prep period is at the end of the day and I have very little to do today. They have cameras in the parking lots....Big Brother is watching.

I forgot to mention the breed of dog. The puppies are Jack Russell / Dachsund mix. I don't care for Jack Russells at all. It's pathetic to say but the timing just works out perfectly for Christmas and she doesn't have homes for 2 puppies. I feel bad going out and getting another dog when I can give a home to one of hers. Emily could care less what she gets. She just wants a dog. I just know it would probably be the most memorable present I could ever give her. We're going to see them tomorrow.

DH hasn't heard back from the job yet. I really hope they don't leave us hanging over the weekend. I wrote out a pro/con list with my friends during lunch today, but it's hard to get a clear picture without knowing what they are offering him.

Robin - I'm glad your friend got a job. I'll be looking forward to hearing about the sales. I love Children's Place. I hope you feel better soon.

BNB - I can't believe Luke is almost 8 months already! It seems like you just had him! Where does time go??

dizagain - Awwww.... what a nice thing for DH to do.

z - Have fun at Howl O Scream! It sounds like a lot of fun. I am so sorry to hear about your DH's cousin and her mother-in-law. How awful!

ETA - I know you ladies will appreciate this. I asked Alex what he wants for Christmas and he said, "All I want is a trip to Disney." I was so proud of him. I think I almost cried.

Lissa - I paid $40 plus $8 shipping on that cart cover so it was $48 all together. I had seen one at BRU for $40 but I didn't like the pattern as much. I wanted something more girly. Also they will monogram Cam's name on this one....which I have not decided on yet. Here is a link to the one I got, it comes with a pillow too though I don't think she will do anything but throw it out of the cart so I won't use it. LOL

Alice - WOO HOO and a big shout out to you for those awesome coupons!!! YOU ROCK! :thumbsup2

UPDATE: tiggersmom2 is the winner...

Hi ladies,

Since I wasn't able to breastfeed, I didn't continue using the rest of my Expecta Lipil DHA supplement that I was taking throughout my pregnancy. So I have several boxes left. I have 3 boxes still in the shrink wrap (30 per box) and 2 boxes (30 per box) that are out of the shrink wrap but full. So a total of 150 softgels of the supplement for pregnant/nursing moms. They do expire January 2007, but I'm hoping someone will be interested so I don't have to just throw them away. If someone used them past the expiration, it would be 5 months worth.

Anyway - whoever PMs me first can have them free and I'll mail them out for free too. Just hate throwing them away - I wish I would have remembered I had these earlier.

Thanks and best wishes to all of you! :grouphug:

Z- did you try the coupons yet? Did they work? I'm so afraid someone will come back and say their store didn't accept them....like I said, used them at WalMart and no one batted an eye.

Kim- LOVE what Alex wants for Christmas! That's great!

Staci- sorry your play date didn't go so well...and good to know that the Mickey Mouse Club House isn't that great----I won't go nuts trying to look for it, although I'm sure if I see it, I won't be able to resist!

Oh thank god, the Wiggles are on! I just put Josh on the bus, and so I just have Molly and I need a break. She immediately came running in from the other room once she heard Greg start crooning. :teeth:

I can't keep track of Playhouse Disney's programming and when the Wiggles are even on-- now I know- 11am is the golden time!

nuc- hope you like working at Walgreens! That's pretty exciting and will certainly be nice added income.

I think I am going to find something for lunch and then rest for a little bit, while Joshua's sheets are drying. Someone (ahem, MOLLY) decided to eat a choc chip granola bar in his bed and it was a big mess. Because, as you all know, I didn't get my fill of laundry yesterday, so I was delighted I got to wash some sheets this morning.

I'm headed out of this madhouse soon. DH did not go hunting and even volunteered to pick Jimmy up from my dad's house. The wimp doesn't want to wrestle with our 20+ lb. cat and take him to the vet.

I have no plans for tonight other than to watch Grey's Anatomy. I went to bed too early last night to see it.

DisKim - We had a sausage dog many years ago and he was a real sweetie. He did pee an awful lot when he got excited, but he was a great dog. His name was Freddy.

Alice - Glad to hear you're feeling a little better.

zalansky - I think I'm going to pick up the one I saw at BRU and then try to sell it on eBay with the rest of the baby stuff. It's black toile and matches a sling that I may buy. I love the toile and almost bought that for Annabel's nursery.

Staci - Good luck getting your house back in order after the playdate.

nucpharm - I hope you got your errands done.

I'm outta here. I'll see you all later!

Good afternoon all! Well, surpise for me today--DH decided this morning that he'd had enough of work for the week, and left! Not quit, just came home at lunch time. He figured he'd give me and himself a break. So, while he stayed home and napped with the 2 little ones, I went to Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond all alone! Talk about heaven! So, I got DH some birthday presents--he's a Halloween baby, and also made a dent in Christmas gifts for the younger two. I figure they're trickiest since they're almost always with me. I got the Little People pirate ship for Celeste--she LOVES pirates, and Robert has a bigger, older version, so now they can duel like they do with light sabers (no girly girls here!). I also picked her up some Hello Kitty things. I got a few things for Luke, but frankly, he's #4, he doesn't need anything! But he does need his stocking filled and a few things under the tree. Anyway, it was absolutely pouring rain--good thing it wasn't 20 degrees colder, I would have been shovelling.

Kim--I'm with Alex, WDW would be a GREAT Christmas gift! Good luck on your dog decision, however it goes.

Gina--Sorry about the Mets. We're routing for the Tigers in the World Series, you can join us if you'd like!

Robin--Yuck! On the sheets. I always tell my kids, "Does it LOOK like I need to hunt down laundry to wash?!?" They seem to think I have nothing else to do, or that my day isn't complete without a load or three. As if... Children's Place sounds like a good fit for your friend. Keep us posted on any sales, they have quality stuff.

justthat--I hope the brownies come out okay. Of course, if they don't, you'll just have to salvage the broken pieces to serve with ice cream.

I have to run--hair emergency!

Dizagain- Your kids sound like they were too cute this morning!

BNB- I hope you get some extra family time in! I am going to join you and route for the Tigers in the WS now.

Alice- Sorry you’re still not feeling well. That’s great news about your friend’s new job though. I love the sales at the Children’s Place.

Nucpharm- Good luck with the two babies today!

Justhat- sorry about the baking issues. I always forget to grease the bottom of the pan. Luckily I have mostly silicon bakeware now.

Staci- Sorry you’re having a tough day. BTW, I love the picture of your DD in your signature with all the pink flowers in back of her.

DisKim- I would have cried over Alex’s Christmas wish too.

Olivia decided to sleep a lot this morning, even though she was with me. I hope she’s feeling ok. DSis(8) and DBro(3) might be sleeping over tonight. I have to leave in a few minutes to stop at my mom’s house and pick up Olivia and see who else is coming. Fun, fun. We’re going to get Olivia’s passport tomorrow too. That way she can actually be ready for a cruise, even though we don’t have one booked right now. Have a great weekend ladies (though I’m sure I’ll be back).

Good evening ladies! :wave2:

I think I am about a million pages behind! I need to go read up on how everyone is doing. :)

Sorry that I have been MIA for a bit. I put my first day in at school with the 5th graders and it was so much fun! :teeth: I'm exhausted now, and I need to study but I really enjoy working with the kids. I'll be in the class for a few hours each day over the next three weeks in order to get my math and science hours in. The downside to all of this is that I won't see John as much and I still have to do my loads of school work. Oh well, it will be over before I know it.

I hope that you all are doing well! Robin, feel better! :grouphug:

Welcome to Staci! :wave2: You have a beautiful family!

DisKim - Good luck to your DH and congrats on the dog!

I miss all you great ladies and I will try to check in when I can. :wave2:

ETA: Justhat - I just saw your pictures from the pumpkin patch. Was that Cox Farms? I think I recognize the "lion king" picture. :teeth: I hope your baking was successful too! BTW, Henry is growing up so fast. What a bunch of cuties you have!
