HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIAM!!! party: :bday: :cake:

Gems - I'm so sorry to hear about your week. I hope everything gets out of Shelby's system today. I never heard of getting food poisoning from fruit. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Tasha - Yeah, I think there is a huge size difference between Aidan and Kylie. He is 32 pounds! He doesn't look fat though, just tall and solid with a round belly. His foot wouldn't fit into 12-18 months. My friend's DD2 is wearing a smaller size than him! My IL's had bought my kids that weird toy too. It must be a grandparent thing.

Weird story - my mom took Emmy to horseback riding yesterday. She is very social and ended up talking to the other girl's grandparents the whole time. It turns out their son-in-law is one of the people who interviewed Tom! Small world.

DH is sooooo stressed out about the job situation. He just knows that even if he gets offered the job, it probably won't work out for us. I'm hoping my mom can watch the kids and we can go out to dinner tonight and talk about it.

Well, I better go caffinate myself in preparation for soccer this morning. The kids activities are really killing me. Alex told me yesterday that he wants to play baseball in the spring. I've avoided football and baseball at all costs because they are so time consuming.

Hi everyone  !

Happy Birthday to Liam :bday: !!

Tasha,
I'm glad the daycare situation worked out so well :thumbsup2 .

Robin,
Congrats on selling the car so quickly :cool1: .

Diskim,
PD that Tom hears about the job soon :wizard: .

GLT,
I hope you are feeling better :grouphug: .

Gems,
Hope you and Shelby are feeling better soon :grouphug: .

Hi to Nucpharm, Loretta, FF, SL, Dizagain, Fabumouse, Ryan, and all the other moms  .

We are off in a few minutes  . I just wanted to stop in and say goodbye to all of you. I'll see you in a week  .

Tasha- That’s great news about the daycare situation! I’m so sorry to hear about the family in your community :(

DisKim- I love when kids get all lovey/mushy. DBro(3) is a big mush most of the time and I don’t want him to get older and lose that.

Alice- Yaaaay about the car! You did really well with that purchase/sale.

Gems- Sorry about the UTI.

My brother agreed on a price for the house near us! :cheer2: He’s so excited. My parents took us all out to dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants for dinner. Yum! DH was still at work, but I brought home some leftovers.. which he can have if I don’t eat them first. Now I have another house closing to work on.

DSis and her friend had a good sleepover and we’re just hanging around the house this morning. The guys are supposed to come cut the lawn today, but it’s rainy/dreary, so they may wait for tomorrow. Hope everyone’s weekend is going well!

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

Vald - have a GREAT trip! :goodvibes

We are heading to the outlets today. I got an email from OshGosh for 20% off the entire purchase, which is a great deal. Usually they just send emails for 20% off a single item. I firgure I can stock up on Fall clothes (not like we really get a long season of cold weather) for Connor because he'll need them for school. The coupon is good through 9/24 so if anyone has an OshKosh outlet nearby and wants the coupon let me know and I can email it to you!

Have a great day.

Happy Birthday Liam!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :cool1:

GEM,

I'm so sorry you were both sick. It's so frightening when a little one has food poisoning. Kona would only drink juice when she had Salmonella, watered down juice at that. I hope you both feel better soon.

Robin,

Congratulations on the car! That was a fast sale. :thumbsup2

zalansky,

Have fun at the outlets.

val,

Have a great trip.

I know I've missed a lot of you. Sorry. I'm off to organize the house. Have a great weekend!!

Good Morning!

Valerie- Have a FANTASTIC, MAGICAL, STUPENDOUS, WONDERFUL trip to Walt Disney World! I hope it's your best trip yet! pixiedust: :simba: :stitch: :figment: :goofy: :sulley: :ccat: :dumbo: :mickeyjum :donald: :tink:

Z- Get some great deals at Osh Kosh- they have cute boy stuff! :groom:

Kim- Hope you and Tom are able to get out tonight and have a talk about his job situation, etc.

Tasha- I would have been rolling on the floor laughing at your relatives getting so into Deal or No Deal. :rotfl2: That sounds like too much! Post a pic of Kylie in her costume when you can!

Gina- that is AWESOME that your brother got the house! How nice that will be for you guys! Sounds like you had a nice family dinner last night. ::yes::

Gems, oh dear, what a rough time of it you and Shelby had this week! I'm so sorry about that and I hope you two are feeling better ASAP.

Hi FF! Are you feeling any better today (about the septic stuff?). Did you find out if it will be just the $1,500, or will it be more? I hope not!

Hillbeans- I think I just wished Liam a happy party, but not a Happy Birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIAM! party: :jumping1: :bday: :cake:

Can you tell I'm into the smilies today? ;)

Our morning is going to consist of a QUICK trip to Target, (Sam got paid for feeding the neighbor's dogs and of course he now needs another Bionicle), and then Costco. We then have a bday party to go to. We decided with the sale of the car that we needed to finally sit down and pick a time to go to Hawaii so we can buy our plane tickets. We are going for 10 days at the end of March (when our schools have Spring Break). :woohoo: :woohoo: So, I am to call a travel agent this week to try and find the cheapest flights for the 5 of us, as that will be the back breaker. We are going to stay at two different military hotels/cabins, so that part will be super cheap. Last time I checked flights, it was going to be no less than $2,500 for the 5 of us. Ouch.

Morning! I guess it's almost afternoon but DH sent me to bed at 7 this morning when he came in with Dunkin Doughnuts. I slept from 7:30-10:30 and never even moved - heaven!! SO I've showered and started a load of laundry but that's about it. Hayley is playing with Carson so my hands are free for now. Hopefully later we'll go to the outlets and finish up the girls fall/winter wardrobes. Carson is covered until at least spring, but I'll just bet I take a little walk-through Osh Kosh and Carters!!

vald1977 - HAPPY VACATION!!! Hope it's magical!

Alice28 - Glad the sale is final!! Have fun planning Hawaii!! I will live through you and your travels, ok? ;) How cool!

ginamarie - Glad your sleepover was fun!! I'm just hoping the girls have such an awesome relationship with Carson when they're older!

diskim - Hope you and DH can sneak off this evening to talk things over. Hope DH's situation works out the way you want it to!!

TI6Gem - SO SORRY about your rough week! Hope you and Shelby are feeling better today!! Take care!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LIAM!!!!! :)

Well, gotta go check on Hannah and friends - they're cooking mac n cheese and don't seem to remember when they started the noodles  ...

Hi moms, I'm about a page and a half behind so I'll have to catch up later but I wanted to make sure to stop in and say

HAPPY 1ST BIRHTDAY LIAM!!!

Also, I know you've already left vald, but have a great trip!

I gotta go, we have tons to do today and we're watching my 10 and 12 year old cousins tonight, plus we have to go pick up our furniture. They just delivered the bed and the mattress folded up and fit just fine but the tow TWIN SIZE box springs won't even fit up the stairs! :sad2: We're going to have to take out a window tonight and slide them up there because it's still 3 weeks until the new windows come and I'm just not that patient! Luckily Alex doesn't need a box spring so we won't have to deal with it when we finally get around to putting his bed up there (nice parents we are, he's been sleeping on the floor inuor room for a month)

Have a great day!

Today started off well, till we got home this afternoon and I saw another fly upstairs and when I killed him noticed fly excrement. Then I noticed it was all over the room!! This is the room attached to our bedroom where our desktop computer is, but more importantly where the baby's crib is! I cannot tell you how horrified I was/am and spent literally 2 hours cleaning the walls, floor, window, ceiling, and everything else liek furniture, toys, etc. There are little sheep finials on top of the crib and there was fly waste on them. I was so sickened. Now, Henry has never slept in the crib yet cause he's still in the cosleeper next to my bed, but still. I then went on to kill 9 flies in the room! 9!!! And there's 1 left that flew away and we can't find him. I'm so annoyed I shouldn't even talk about it right now. And I want to go wash down all the other walls and furniture too but I needed to take a break. I really want to call an exterminator cause clearly they're multiplying in the house but I have no idea where a fly nest would be. My husband blames it on living a couple of blocks from the zoo and Rock Creek Park. And yes, it is very foresty right around us so he could be right. Even so, I think we should be able to keep the house insect free.

Anyway, I wanted to wish Liam a Happy 1st Birthday!!! I hope you have lots of fun at your party too!

I'll be back a little later to catch up on everything else, after sanitizing my house. We did have a good trip to Target though where I got something for my exchange buddy. The rest of the stuff I will be getting on Tuesday morning (and maybe Wednesday too). Okay, back to cleaning.

party: Happy 1st Birthday Liam!! :bday:
Hillbeans: Post a pic of the bday boy when you get them. :)

Justhat: The fly situation sounds awful!! I'm so sorry to hear that. At least as you said Henry isn't in there yet. Any possbility there is something in the wall like a dead rat or something?? Any smell of something at all? I hope it gets resolved soon for you.

Ryan: Hope you were able to get furniture in there. Hope your evening with the cousins goes well.

Dizagain and Zalansky: Find any good buys today?
Robin: :woohoo: On the car sale!! You must be so happy.
GinaMarie: Congrats to you and your brother. THat was nice for your parents to take you out to celebrate.

I'm pretty Sure Val is gone by now, but I hope she has a blast!

Gems: Sorry to hear about you and Shelby not feeling well this week. I hope you are feeling better quickly.
Tasha: That is great news about the new daycare situation...so glad it worked out of you. :lmao: at the ball. My cats had that toy until they distroyed it.

Today I actually got to go shopping w/out Jace today. My mom accompanied me to Kohl's. I bought some new shoes and 4 shirts for myself, a shirt and socks for DH and 2 coats for Jace, some pjs for him and an outfit for him. They had a crazy sale today and an early bird special. I got a ton of stuff pretty cheap.

Then my mom, Jace and I went with my niece to visit my grandmother. I feel so bad, Jace is scared of her. She old and grey and has emphasema and needs oxygen. She get's so heartbroken that he is afraid of her. I feel awful about it as she loves to see him so.

DH & I took Jace out for his first Kid Meal at Outback tonight. He did great! He had mac a roo and cheese and some of the bread. He had a lot of fun up until we ordered coffee and dessert. He then got very irritable and wouldn't sit still or stop crankin'. DH took him outside while I paid the bill, etc. He really did a good job, I just think it was too long a time. next time, if we want dessert we'll have to take it to go.

Not much on deck for tomorrow. Just grocery (although DH says he thinks he's ready to take that chore back from me :Pinkbounc  :woohoo: ), maybe some cleaning since I've been avoiding it like the plague.

Hope you all have a great night. DH and I will be catching up on all the crap we Tivo'd this week.
:)

justhat,

I was also going to suggest looking for a rotting animal carcas or something like that.

I don't think flies have nests, do they? There has got to be something dead around that room for them to be pooping on everything and for them to keep coming back. I'm almost getting a stomach ache typing this. I hope you get it figured out soon.

I hope everyone had a great day!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look around. I don't smell anything, but I'll definitely check. 1 wall is our bathroom, another has a slider to the deck, another is a stairwell out of the house and the other wall I believe is just outside, next to the deck, but it may connect to the house next door, which is currently veing renovated so no one is living in it.

Henry's doing his bedtime cry. Be bacj later.

Hi gals,

Justhat- oh dear, I hope the fly problem isn't anything too yucky. I know my parents just get a lot of flies in their house because they live in the country and there's lots of grass, foliage, etc out there. Maybe by living close to those parks, it's the same thing for you, and not that you have something dead in the walls. Although that could be it. I hope you can find the source of whatever is causing it. Are they in any other room? By any chance was a window left open?

Hi Joats! That is so cute that Jace had his first kid's meal! I clearly remember Sam's- it was a quesadilla at Chevy's and he was barely one but I was so darn excited to order him that meal! Now that we're on our 3rd, we just make the boys share with their sister most of the time, unless it's just McDonald's or something like that. I'm sorry Jace was afraid of your grandma- that's sad. But kids just don't know how to react when someone looks different to them, and that's normal.

Hi FF!

Hey Alisa- what day is your US again? I know you've told us, but it's next week, right? Can't wait to hear if it's a :groom: or a princess: .

Our afternoon was kind of one of those Saturday afternoons that are irritating. Molly wouldn't go down for a nap before the party. I asked the boys to please watch her in her room (play with her) so I could squeeze in my 30 minute workout. Apparently they couldn't (and they were even going to earn $2 each for babysitting her) and then I got irritated with them. Then the party was just kind of weird- it was at this new place where it is a huge warehouse room filled with those HUGE air-filled jumping things- slides, tumbling area, basketball 'courts', obsticle courses...fun, but it was 1.5 hours and it got old after about an hour. Then the present and cake time dragged and Molly was SO CRABBY. She's asleep in my bed right now. Poor girl.

DH went to go have some man-time at the gun range and just pulled up with dinner- BBQ ribs, yum!

alice- enjoy the ribs! I love ribs too, especially when DH brings them home from this chicken/rib place in Manhattan with his food stipend. They make the tastiest ribs I've ever had.

Justhat- I hope the flies are gone for good now. I'd be freaking out too. A few days ago I saw a huge bug in the sink and practically RAN away. Then I realized it was just a cricket. So DH scooped him up and we let him go outside. This just reminds me that we need to call the termite company to keep up the contract on this house.

Olivia had another day of refusing to nap. She finally fell asleep in her swing a few minutes ago. We'll see if she's out for the night. She SHOULD be exhausted.

OK, watching Survivor from the DVR :woohoo:

Hey...everyone is in bed but me - nice and quiet now and since I got those hours of sleep this morning and can look forward to it again tomorrow, I thought I'd check in! Had fun shopping today with Hayley - Hannah wouldn't go because she was too involved with her buddies. We got Carson a cute Halloween sleeper at Carter's - DH says he has to wear his Cincinatti Bengals outfit for trick-or-treating, but I can "let" him wear the sleeper that day. When Hayley went to brush her teeth a little bit ago she discovered that Hannah and Co. had destroyed the bathroom. While we were shopping they put on swimsuits (which I found on Hannah's floor) and played spa in the bathtub. There were like 5 empty shampoo and soap containers all over and spills everywhere...plus three completely soaked bath towels on the floor. Well, I got Hannah in there pretty quick. DH was oblivious of course. :confused3

alice28 - Discovered a Coldwater Creek outlet had been added at our center! Very cool and I thought about ya! Hope your ribs were yummy!

justhat - Ick!!! I hope you can find the source of your problem. If it were some sort of deceased creature you would probably smell it, right? Good luck with that and I hope Henry went on to sleep for you. Carson stayed up almost all day long, so I'm very hopeful for this evening.

fabumouse - you're not seriously going to CLEAN your bathroom are you?? I laughed so hard when I just checked out that "Bam" tub cleaner thread and found you there!! I was shocked to say the least :rotfl2: Personally, I was just taking a chance to see if my tub would get clean through the vibes coming through the computer!

joats - Glad the first official kids meal was a hit! I'm sorry Jace was scared of your grandmother. That happens sometimes and I know it's sad for you adn yor grandmother. But I know she enjoys just seeing him!

ginamarie - hope Olivia sleeps for you since it sounds as if she and Carson both have puffy eyes from staying awake for so long!

Well, I'm gonna go eat a cookie (yummy Milanos from the Pepperidge Farm outlet today!) and go to bed...er couch. :)

Justhat - Oh yuck! I've never noticed fly excrement in my life. There must be a lot of them! I hope the situation is resolved fast for you!

dizagain - I was cracking up at your girls playing spa. They may have messed up the bathroom but at least they are creative :lmao: .

Robin - I got tired just reading about that birthday party. Our onslaught of parties for this year hasn't started yet.

Alex had his first soccer game of the year yesterday and it poured! I had to take Aidan home. Luckily, my mom was there and took everyone else home. DH and I managed to go out to dinner and do a little shopping last night. We both got the "endless shrimp" at Red Lobster. I was soooo full! We did a lot of talking about the job interview and I think he feels better. Even if he is offered the job, I don't think taking it will be a good idea. He will lose a lot if he leaves his job. The most important thing he will lose is working in our kids' school district and being able to be there for them, attend their parties, etc. I had fun shopping at the mall without the kids. I got my exchange gifts :thumbsup2 . I hope my recipient likes them!

Today, I have lots of cleaning to catch up on and I have to get my fall decorations down from the attic. I get so overwhelmed by the cleaning on the weekends. I tried to get it done yesterday and I broke out in tears. I just started crying hysterically. I think I scared the kids. Even Aidan came over and gave me a hug. I just can't do it all and I get so frustrated. I think I'm also hormonal. The doctor gave me a new bc pill which is supposed to be a low dose of hormones but it is having a bad effect on me. I'm also really hot all the time. DH was cracking up at me in the car because I had the a/c blasting and I was freezing him out. He said it's menopause. I did not appreciate that comment with my birthday being a week away.

I got bad news on my aunt yesterday. They can't figure out what kind of tumor she has in her lung. They said it looks like the benign kind but the location it is in is very bad. They've never seen a benign tumor in that location. It is in a very vascular area at the bottom of her lung so surgery is not going to be a good thing. They have to take it out either way because her asthma attacks are so bad, they are dangerous. She is calling tomorrow to schedule but her surgery will be this week some time. Her son is only 6 years old. My uncle is just beside himself. I have a feeling the tumor will be benign even though it is in a strange spot. I'm just really worried about the surgery :guilty: . Please send pixie dust their way.

I hope you all have a nice Sunday. I'll be popping on while I take cleaning breaks.

I know she's away, but I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to nucpharm - a package was waiting for me when we got home from NY yesterday! There was a huge pumpkin bucket of goodies for Lucas (activity book, crayons, stickers, magnets, a board book, and I know I'm forgetting something). Also a candy dish and peanut M&Ms (one of my favorites) and a fall harvest decoration, which I love. Lucas started playing with his toys right away and we even had to bring a few along with us to my cousin's party because he didn't want to leave them. Thanks again!!

justhat - Sorry about all the flies. I hope you can find the source and get rid of it.

Alice28 - Congrats on selling the car!

val - Have a great trip!

gem - I'm so sorry that both you and Shelby got sick. I hope you're both feeling better.

joats - Good for Jace eating the kid's meal! We've tried that a couple times with Lucas but it's not even worth it since he just doesn't eat.

DisKim - I'm sorry about your aunt. I hope the surgery goes well. :grouphug:

ginamarie - Congrats to your brother on the house.

dizagain - Sounds like the girls sure had fun playing "spa"! :lmao:

hillbeans - I hope Liam's party went well. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Tasha - Glad Kylie had fun playing with that toy. Lucas is about the same size - he's mostly in 12-18 months but can still fit into some 6-12 months clothes. Mostly shirts, because he is on the taller side so the smaller size pants are usually too short.

fabumouse - Good luck cleaning.

Sorry if I missed anyone. I was going by memory. We had a nice trip to upstate NY yesterday. We only stayed a couple hours and it took 2 hours driving each way, but I don't think I would have wanted to be there any longer. They're not set up for kids so it was a pain chasing Lucas around. And not to sound snobby or anything, but you'd think they'd run a vacuum around real quick when company was coming. Yeesh. It was nice for Lucas' godfather to see him, though. When we got home, we fed Lucas dinner then headed to my aunt's house for my cousin's bday party. That was fun - she had a few games with scratch off lottery tickets as prizes and I won $2! Yay me!

We have a few stores we want to hit for odds and ends and we still haven't bought a new suitcase yet. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, all! Robert's baseball game was cancelled yesterday, so I managed to switch all the kids over to their fall clothes. What a chore! But at least it's done. I had SUCH a hard time saying good-bye to Luke's Gymboree Newborn stuff--I know I'll never use it again! But it was clearly time, as he's falling out of the stuff. He was supposed to stay little and be my baby!

Anyway, another cold, gray day today. Jocelyn has play rehearsal and I have to dash out to Wal-Mart and refill a prescription that I threw out the paperwork on--yuck! It's nice to have a fairly quiet weekend, though. It won't last.

SL--Nice to know you had a good visit up "my way" (I live in Saratoga County--upstate NY encompasses a lot!). I know what you mean about tidying up before company arrives. I feel that way with my sister, who has 21 cats and frankly, she should find homes for most of them and then use her spare time to clean! Not that my house is prstine or anything, but hers is just disgusting. And it's not just in need of a vacuum--we're talking you can't get into rooms due to the junk she's accumulated.

Kim--Sorry you're having such a tough time of things. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. And hey, if you can actually walk into the room sin your house, you're doing better than my (childless) sister! I have so "been there" on the rainy soccer games--out here, we don't have football, so soccer is the religion of choice. I'm so glad my kids aren't doing it this fall--we have plenty else, though. And I hope your aunt is better soon--I've heard of benign lung tumors, but I can't imagine there's a "good" kind of tumor.

justthat--aren't there a type of flies that hibernate in closets, and then come out? I'm hardly an expert, but if you suddenly have that many--it's the first thing I thought of. It happened to me once, years ago in an apartment, but it was so weird because one day I came home from work, and there were all these flies on the inside of my screen for no apparent reason. Anyway, I hope you get tot he root of the problem--yuck!

joats--the first meal is always such fun. I still remember Jocelyn's first happy meal--there she sat, a french fry clutched in each hand! Not eating, just clutching away. Jace looks like he could eat you out of house and home someday--enjoy buying the kid's meals while you can!

Robin--Ooh, the gun range and then ribs for dinner--things are pretty manly in your house!

dizagain--how nice to get the chance to sleep in! On weekends, I've been letting DH do the sleeping in, as I'm an early riser. But he never complains about me going to bed at 8:30, like I did last night, so it works out pretty fair. I like having my quiet "tea time" in the mornings.

Well, I have one for you ladies--next Friday, Jocelyn is going ot her first middle school "rec night", which is another word for her first dance! I think DH is going to have a coronary. there will be other activities there besides dancing, and refreshments, and her buddies will all go and they'll hang out and dance and all. But I asked her what she'll do if a boy asks her to dance, and she'd clearly never considered the possibility! I just pointed out that it takes guts to ask a girl to dance, and she shoudl say "yes" if it's a fast dance. if she doesnn't want to slow dance, I suggested she present an alternative, like getting a drink or something. And I pointed out the value of having some kind of "check" system with her friends, so they can rescue each other if they get stuck with someone they really don't want to spend time with. You know, I'm really not ready for this!

BNB: Good for you doing the fall clothes switch! I'm impressed. Isn't it so hard to put away the cute little stuff? I hope you and DH can survive the rec night!!
SL: Sounds like you all had very busy but nice day yesterday! Congrats on willing the lottery!! :rotfl: What are you going to spend it on??
DisKim: You have a lot on your plate! I hope you can get some of what you want to get done today. :wizard: for your aunt. I hope she does well.
Dizagain: How cute that the kids played "Spa".
GinaMarie: How did you like Survivor??? DH and replayed the "I love you" scene over and over and :rotfl2: Wow - he's pretty odd eh?
Robin: How were the BBQ ribs?

I just finished cleaning the bathroom and can't get the smell of the tub cleaner out of my nose. Anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I reak of it and I'm pretty itchy. I tried the new BAM! It worked well, but I think I might be allergic to it.

DH just left for the grocery store :woohoo: I am so relieved my Stop and Shop days are over. I thought I'd jump on quick before Jace wakes up from his nap.

Anybody doing anything fun today? I'll just picking up around here and making a crock pot for dinner. I can't believe it's almost time to go back to work already. Why oh why can't we only work weekends and have the rest of the week off? Two days is just not enough!!

Happy Sunday!
:)
