CONGRATS ALISSA!!!!!

My advice, stay away from Gymbo as much as you can!

And deprive herself of all this pent up shopping angst?? :teeth:

FWIW - I love the ladybug baby bedding!

Did I tell you gals that Kailey dictated a note last night to her kindergarten teacher that she took in today? The gist of it was - there's a boy who sits at her table who won't quit saying her name - Kailey kailey kailey kailey and she's asked him nicely, but he won't stop. And now she wants to slug him. So could she pretty please change tables? :teeth:

Hi everyone.

I know I probably can't get caught up but I'm going to try.

lissawynn,

I love the ladybug bedding. Very cute! I love the Pottery Barn bedding but it is expensive. They always have cute island type stuff that I love.

Robin,

Have fun at BRU. I have to use some diaper coupons by Saturday. Sorry you're having difficulty deciding about your trip. I know you will have fun whatever you end up doing. I hear ya on the road trip with 3 kids. That's not going to happen in our family for a while. NO WAY! Kona is not good for long periods in the car. Keep us posted on what you decide.

tkyes,

Sounds like a fun trip. :thumbsup2

fabumouse,

That note is hysterical. How cute. :rotfl:

I'll check back later.

Double post! Can you not delete posts anymore??? :confused3

I think that is a pretty good price for 12 pieces. You really wouldn't need to buy anything else for the room.

Gotta run. I'll try to get back on the computer later tonight after DWTS.

Ay yi yi. I'll never catch up. I wasn't able to get back online after the grocery store last night and every time I started a post from work today something came up.

hillbeans - Congrats to Liam for walking! :cheer2: I love your pictures.

What cute bedding you all posted. I especially like the ladybug one. My favorite aunt has a thing for ladybugs.

Oops, got to take a phone call. I'll drop in again later!

lissawynn - I love the ladybug bedding!

Tkyes - Oh, your trip to Cozumel sounds so nice. I haven't had that type of trip since my honeymoon!

Aidan is being very destructive today. Sometimes I wonder if there is anything in my house he has not tried to break  .

I got news on my aunt. Her surgery will be on Friday. I'm scheduled to go to a poetry festival that day. I don't know whether to go or not. My friends said they would get my certificate for me. The doctor think she has a carcinoid (sp?) and it doesn't sound good. It's basically a cancerous tumor that does not respond to radiation. It's an all or nothing deal. Either they get it all out or she is in trouble. It's something that usually 60-70-year-olds get, not 40-year-olds. It also has nothing to do with smoking which is what had us stumped. It has to do with the endocrine system. I am only thinking positive thoughts. Everything just has to be ok.

On top of that, my father called last night. He and my stepmother decided that this weekend would be a good time to see their 17-month-old grandson for the first time. I told them that it was not a good time but they insisted that this was the only weekend they could come because my stepmother starts a new job on Monday. I just can't say no to people.

Also, DH has heard nothing from his interview. It's certainly not the end of the world if he doesn't get it. I really don't think that job would have a positive influence on my life. Part of me wishes a miracle would happen and I could stay home. I'm so sick of this hectic pace. I want to be taking care of my family. I never see Alex until 4pm each day.

OK, this is my last negative post. I'm having a tough week but I need to have a positive attitude. After all, Aidan is head-banging to Elmo. How could anyone be in a bad mood when they see that?

Gems

Gem - I sent you a PM but it must not have made it. I'll send you another right now. I think I still have all the info.

SL - no I never got it, I think your second attempt has just landed though! I shall add you to my list!! Thanks for taking part!

I also wanted to ask what kind of dollar cap you wanted to put on the exchange? A couple of people have asked and I am not sure, so any suggestions welcome! Thanks Gems :)

OK, quick attempt at catching up here!

Well, that went well, I'm alrteady being paged! Ha, I might as well give up trying to get on here and respond to everyone

Good afternoon all~ I keep coming on to post and then I get interrupted. Someone, a certain little girl I know, refuses to nap this afternoon. She is quite congested, so I know she's not feeling great, but she's not crabby.

Gems- I am good with a $20 or $25 cap. If that's too much for others, I totally understand. I think the cap for the fall exchange was $15 and I couldn't stay at that amount. It was too much fun shopping for Justine and kids. :cloud9:

lissawynn- I think that ladybug pattern is darling. I emailed it to my neighbor who has their nursery painted the same colors you mentioned. Have fun with whatever you choose. And have fun shopping- so nice that your DH gave you carte blanche!

DisKim- that doesn't sound like good news regarding your Aunt. Didn't someone in the limelight have that sort of cancer, or am I hallucinating? I pray that they will get all of it out. :grouphug: to you for going through a stressful time right now.

Tkyes- Have fun planning your trip to Cozumel. DH and I have vetoed the Caribbean, just because it seems kind of silly flying so far the other way, when we have Hawaii (where we don't need a passport) just a 5+ hour flight away. And DH went to Mexico a lot as a kid and teen and just doesn't have a good vibe for it. :confused3 I guess we're kind of picky...

FF- yes, the thought of a road trip with the 3 kids in the car just is NOT my idea of any sort of fun/relaxing vacation. DH sometimes I think lives in LA LA land. His parents were both teachers, and they spent many summers traveling the US and beyond in their VW van with the pop-up camper. However, I think my DH and his brother were grade school age and older when they did all these trips. No two year olds were involved. And many stories I hear of these trips are of DH complaining about them, so now I'm not so sure why he has these grand illusions that we should do it too. Mostly what we did when I was a kid was camping and I wasn't a big fan, hence why we haven't done it with our own kids. I hated pottying in the dirt or a portapotty.... :teeth: :sad2:

Fab- LOL at Kailey's note! :rotfl2: What a funny girl! I bet she gets that sense of humor from her Momma!

Oh, Tamie- I haven't ordered scrapbook supplies online before. I will try to remember to ask my scrappy friends where they like to shop and get back to you.

Diz- how cute that Carson has started to smile! :goodvibes

OK, I gotta put spazzy girl down for a nap- she is just a nut right now and I think it's that weird thing babies do when they are SO tired they just get wound tight before they crash.

GEM,

If you want to do a cap that's fine. I know I will go over. :rotfl2: I just can't help it.

There wasn't actually a cap for the Fall exchange. The minimum was $15 just to ensure everyone at least spent the same amount of money.

I have a rotten headache so I probably won't post much. I think DH lost his cell phone today. Can you say karma?? :teeth: He was ticking me off last night. I have been having this pain on my left side and at times it is really bad. I walked in the door with groceries and he didn't even help me unpack them. He said "you've been doing everything else fine." Yah, because I HAVE to. :furious:

I'll check back later. Off to take a Tylenol.

All,

Thanks for the ideas, I think that we should have a min of $15 excluding the postage but of course of you want to spend more then go right ahead!

Floridafam and Ryan840 I have pm'd you the details.

I am so  this is gonna be fun!! :teeth:

I Think my DH made the same sort of comment a few weeks ago- I wanted to KILL him.

This is the first time I've sat down today so I haven't read the posts yet, but I just wanted to comment on your husband FF. I feel the same way right now. My husband has a migraine and left work at noon, came home and slept all afternoon, woke up and went to Popeyes to get himself dinner and is laying on the couch watching some stupid show he dvred. What first got me was that when Henry was born it took all the nurses at my hospital paging him to get him to leave work, but he gets a headache and runs home. Then I realized, if I were ever sick and acted like this the house would be absolute chaos. Ugh. What is with men sometimes, it's like they don't even think!

Well I got pretty much all the stuff for my exchange buddy today so I will be mailing it out soon. There's just 1 more thing I would like to pick up so hopefully I can do that tomorrow.

Madison is hysterical about takinhg off her minnie costume for bed so I should go cause my husband's patience is limited on a good day.

I would love to see what trouble Tasha is causing on the DH thread - but I'm still watching season one on DVD's.

FF I was going to ask how it was going with your DH, but I guess I don't have to. :guilty:

Most men have never experienced first hand what it takes to get everything done in a day - and they have no concept of the amount of time it takes or the the priorities that have to be made.

Speaking of men - GLT - did your husband ever resolve his issue with the institutionalized naptime??

Robin - yes, Kailey gets her sense of humor from me but her expectation that the world organize itself in harmony for her pleasure, I don't know where she gets THAT. Maybe just being 5, I don't know.

Robin - My friend brought up Dana Reeves' lung cancer. That must be who you were thinking of. I said, "Gee thanks for bringing that up - she died." My friend was so embarassed. I can do that stuff to her though because we've been close friends for years. The thing that has me feeling positive is that my aunt feels fine other than the breathing problems. She doesn't seem particularly weak, she's not coughing up blood, etc. I think this is a very treatable cancer if it is caught early enough. At least, that's how it sounded when I looked it up.

gems - The exchange sounds like fun!

FF - I'm sorry your DH said that to you. Sometimes men just don't get it. I just complain to DH all the time to remind him that I do a lot :teeth: .

I am just so darn tired tonight. I still have to put the kids to bed, pay bills, and frost cupcakes for Emmy's back to school night tomorrow (would you believe I'm on the baking committee - I figure it is something I can contribute without having to socialize with the PTA moms since I feel so intimidated).

Well, I'm going to see if I can get Aidan to snuggle with me for a little while.

Kim- Open mouth, insert foot (talking to myself). I was thinking it was someone who had it and then it was cured. That is good that she is having no breathing problems, etc. I do hope everything will turn our A-OK for her.

justhat- my DH did that a few months ago, just days after I was sick with the flu and couldn't rest....he came home, slept all day, moped all day, did not one thing around the house....but on my 'sick' day, I still had kids to take care of and meals to make and clean up. Men.

I am ready to kill about half a dozen people right now. Sometimes I could just scream, you know? Molly turned from spazzy and snotty-nosed to uncontrollably crabby, ESPECIALLY if I tried to lay her prone. Mommy alert bell went off for an ear infection. I grab the phone to call for an appt., talk to advice and of course they're booked. I figured as much, but I always try to at least call instead of automatically going to Urgent Care in the PM. As I am talking to the nurse, all he** breaks loose on my street. These stupid teenagers were speeding on our street, redneck neighbors yell at them to slow down (rightly so), yelling ensues....the kids come BACK, accuse neighbors of throwing stuff at their car (WTH?) and then my neighbor picks up a STICK or a shovel handle and starts waving it around, hitting the fence on either side of the kid...the kids did barge in on their property, but cripes almighty people. Screaming, yelling, all the other adults on the street are standing there like apes, so I pick up the da** phone and call 9-1-1. The police came within 10 minutes or so, and I was able to give them a description of the peons car and license plate #.

Then I call DH to let him know Molly is sick and I will be going to urgent care when he gets home, and now of course that he's the Kaiser 'expert' he's pressing me on who I spoke to, was I SURE I couldn't get her into a regular appt., am I SURE I spoke to advice at the right clinic....oh, my blood is boiling just typing it out. For God's sake, how many fricking times have *I* called advice for the kids? Oh, 588 times maybe? And how many times has he? Hmmm...........um...... ZERO! I slammed the phone down on him because as I'm trying to talk to him, Josh is crying/whining because I took away the GameBoy for awhile, Molly is screaming, the kids in the street are screaming, the dog across the street is barking (with its owner standing RIGHT THERE)....oh, I just cannot take it sometimes.

:furious: :furious: :furious:

Ironically when I made a po'ed comment about our street he said he had emailed that realtor again and said if the price comes down significantly, to please email us because we might be interested if the price comes down enough. No kidding. Esp if they gave us a carpet allowance and paid for a mover to get our bed upstairs.

Robin - I hate days like that! I have a habit of shouting Too much input!! and trying to shut down those things I do have control over. Oh - just like hanging up on DH. ;)
