I think I'm caught up, for now...

WDW meet - Could we please do a meet in the summer? I would love to meet up with all of you, but going to WDW during school is so hard for me. Can you see all of us pushing strollers and chasing our kids all over WDW? That would be a hoot!

[\QUOTE]

:rotfl2: For some reason this struck me funny, 3 hours after I read the post! I pictured 15 or so of us moms with our kids in strollers (& older ones walking) storming Fantasyland like the beaches of Normandy---other guests with a look of fear in their eyes as we take over the area... :rotfl: All of us trying to park our strollers, chatting how we admired another's stroller and ours sucked, herding all the kids into it's a small world, taking over an entire boat or two. Or all of us on the tea cups or the carousel. :goodvibes How many potty breaks, soda breaks, child meltdowns there would be, trying to coordinate lunch with our husbands who might have the older children...I just started chuckling while sitting watching my soap envisioning this. It sounds like so much fun, even though it would be chaotic. And then we would have to shove all of our kids on the DHs so we could all go for a moms night out dinner at the Yachtsman or some other nice restaurant. Right? :teeth: :drinking1

Here's some :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that someday we might be able to coordinate something of the sort. I'm another one who would probably have to do a summer trip as this fall 2 of our kids will be in school and since DH works for a school district, his downtime is also in the summer and on breaks (although there is no way in hell I would ever go to Disney during Christmas break or Easter break!).

Hello Mommies!

I've got 4 pages to go through and here I am without my pad of paper. :rotfl: I guess I'm not that organized tonight!

I promised to go back through them tomorrow and respond. I just wanted to pop in and say "Hi" to everyone and I hope everyone is doing well.

John Paul had his second RSV shot today and boy was it a big shot. :guilty: The poor boy did the silent scream again and then had the saddest cry that went on for a bit. My heart broke for him, but he seems to be a lot better tonight. He'll be back again for another shot in 28 days. I'm hoping the RSV shots will be done in April.

I have a question for you all. Has anyone had a baby who had a problem with a flat head? John Paul's head is flat on the back and we need to address it so he won't have to wear a helmut. He had a great round head from being a c-section baby, but since he likes to lay down in a particular position he now has a flat head. For those who have experienced this what did you do to help it go away? We are going to do more tummy time which he hates and purchase a special headrest, but I was wondering if there was something else we could do. Any advice is appreciated.

I also have a question for Lisawynn and DisKim. Did you all have to take the Praxis Exams for your teaching license? If you did were they difficult? I've already taken my first set of exams and they weren't bad at all, but I need to take the second set in April and was wondering what you all thought about the exam. I've been terrible about studying and need to get my rear in gear!

I skimmed back a few posts and I see there is talk of meeting at Disney. I'm all for it! It would be great to meet you all! I'm sad that I missed meeting Zalansky at Le Cellier and I missed meeting Justhat at the DC Dis meet. Anyways, that would be great to meet you all.

I gotta run and give John Paul a bath. I'll make sure to get my pad of paper ready so I can respond to you all tomorrow. :cheer2: It sounds like everyone is doing well and keeping busy! Have a great evening! :wizard:

Just popping in to say hello Mommies!
I'm actually off to bed as I'm so exhausted lately I feel like I have mono or something (I'm pretty sure I don't, just that kind of tiredness). I just don't want to get behind again in my reading or lack of posting.

Tasha - glad you have your computer access back!
Bellacam - I can't believe how big your little one is! His pictures are adorable!!
Hello everyone - sorry to leave you out individually I'm just beat.

Thanks for the bathing suggestions. I have a little tub inside the big tub - it's just the bending over part for me that kills my back. I did think about getting in there with him and I have not ruled that out as an option. I just wish we had a huge kitchen sink or something to elevate him up higher (safely) in the tub.

Have a good night.

Jill- my oldest started to get the flat spot on his head; the ped just suggested that I turn his head while he sleeps (but ack....the risk of waking baby up!!!). And poor JP and the big shot- I feel so bad for him! :guilty:

My middle one is sick with a cold now. My DH wonders if he brought back some germs in the house....interesting thought since we've been so healthy (sans my kidney stone debacle) for the last several months, and now have a new person living with us again. No big deal, but he sounds so pathetic with his raspy voice and cough. :guilty:

I took the Praxis test about 10 years ago- the general knowledge and communication ones. I thought they weren't that bad- I think I actually scored fairly high (I did study quite a bit), which surprised me because two of my friends at the time who had better GPAs in college than I did, failed miserably. I mean, I was no flunkie, maybe a 3.3 GPA, but they were like 3.8s and couldn't pass that darn test! I think the ones that are specific to a topic (like math, english, music) are harder than the general knowledge ones. I bet with your life experience will help a lot if you plan on taking the general knowledge one- a lot of it was just kind of common sense.

I think I'm coming down with something as I sit here. I feel achy and have a slight headache and have that tickly feeling in my chest/throat. Great. Time to go swallow some vitamin C.

 Today Liam weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs 7 oz....holy cow. We started cereal today, that was fun.

It’s funny, I was thinking more about the whole other thread today and I realized that our little tiny thread of babies born in 2004/5 is going to continue to grow, so no one can or should be expected to respond to every single poster or question – as others have said before, it’s just nice to sometimes come here to talk, vent, or share stories about babies/toddlers.

I'd love to do a Mom's DIS meet!!!

Jill - Liam would often settle into the same spot and got a bit of a flat part on his back right side of his head. It's taken some doing, however he now likes to sleep on his left side at night, which has helped even out the "flat" spot on his head. I know a lot of docs may not recommend side sleeping, so you do whatever's comfortable for you. I also agree that bumbo seat and tummy time are a help also.

Loretta/Zalansky - i'd love to meet up with you in WDW someday and you live so close too. I won't be down again until March or April of 2007, but by then the kids will be old enough to go on some rides. Liam is sleeping alright - still up most nights once if not twice - but he does get himself to sleep by 7:45 every night. How is Cam doing with her napping now that you're home? Are you happy you left work to be at home? I hope so. Have a great time at the Hard Rock!

Tasha+Scott - so nice to hear from you again. Good luck with the baby dedication.

Justthat - hope you're feeling better soon. Sorry to hear about Madison getting hit at preschool - that's never fun. It just always makes you feel bad to even think your little one is getting "picked on" by another child, no matter how innocent it turns out to be.

Alice - LOL at the 15 baby strollers in EPCOT - that is a funny thought (but a great one at that)!

Nucpharm - sounds like we have some big babies!! As long as the docs say everything is ok, then i'm ok with them being big - ya know?

DisneyPhD - I also admire your Breastfeeding commitment with Lily.

Bridget - Great news about Aiden and his teeth!!!!

Joats – sorry to hear about Jace and the blood disorder. I don’t know much about Blood disorders, but my husband had one when he was 4 which was considered very serious at the time, however he outgrew it. I’m sure there is more to that story, but that’s all I’ve ever been told from his mom…my thoughts are with baby Jace!

Gems – Great pics of Shelby and her friend – and the ones of her eating her cereal too!

Vald – Good luck with the interview. Keep us updated.

Oh, and the picture in my signature I took last night (NOTICE THE MICKEY PJ'S)…thanks to everyone for the very kind compliments. My nurse today was saying what a cutie he is (and of course I have to agree being his mom).

Oh, I have so many people to reply to! But, it just won't be tonight. :(

I'm off to bed - I just wanted to say hi!

We were hit with a lovely stomach bug here this week. Tyler still has diarreaha. Poor guy. I thought he was getting over it but we went through three shirts today because it gets all over. He's eating ok, not great, but ok. Should I be giving him pedialite, or is that only if they aren't eating well?

I was super sick yesterday and DH took care of us. Today we switched rolls. He was up in bed or on the couch all day and I played nurse.

Hopefully tomorrow I can find some time to read the pages of posts that I've missed.

Goodnight all!

Tamie

Hi All
Seems like so many people are sick at the mo my DS's school sent home a letter yesterday saying there is a problem with gasteric or influenza and if your child shows any signs to keep them off school and on the news this morning it says some schools have been closed.
Justthat Sorry to hear about Madison.
Zalansky Glad the playdate went well always hard meeting new people with my first I had no friends with children and felt quite lonely but at about 6mnths I braved a Mother and Toddler group and made some great friends. Amazing how many people are in the same situation.
Well most go so far I have spent the morning at a friends house need to do some housework before picking up kids from school . Hope everyone has a good day although I think you might all be asleep as most of your messages seem to be posted when it's the middle of the night here.
Thanks for the comments about the highchair it is a Hauck one but when hubby comes home hopefully he will show me where the wires are to download the pics.

zalansky,
Your playdate sounds neat. Good luck with starting your new group :) . I haven't stayed at the Hard Rock but I would love to someday. Have fun! Oh, and I hope all worked out with DVC. You guys must be so excited :sunny: .

Justthat,
You are doing the best you can right now. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's nice of you to volunteer to help cover in class when they are short staffed. I'm sure they will be thrilled to know you are willing to do that :) .

Hillbeans,
I love the Mickey Pj's! It's a great picture :) .

Tamie,
Hope you are all feeling better soon. It totally stinks when everyone is sick at the same time. I think as long as he's eating some he should be okay (as long as it's not all coming back up). Little ones can get dehydrated so easily though I know I would at least try to get him to drink some of the pediatlyte for my own peace of mind.

Jill,
So sorry to hear how hard the shots are on John Paul. I know it is worth it so he won't get rsv but boy it's hard to see our little babies go through that. About flat head, Katie has a bit of flat spot on one side but her doc. isn't worried about it yet. I haven't heard of a head rest to prevent it. What is that?

SL,
2 hour meetings when you should be eating? Doesn't sound like the smartest way to get people to pay attention to the meeting ;) . My interview is actually today. In about two hours :rolleyes1 . I really should be getting ready but I'm procrastinating and playing on the Dis instead. Can you tell I'm nervous? Thanks for asking though :) .

Nucpharm,
That's cute about the Little Einsteins :) . I remember how obsessed my DS would get with shows at that age.

Robin,
I hope you don't end up sick. Have fun dreaming and deciding about your vacation. I would stay at SOG too if I were you just because of the price and it's still Disney :) .

Joats,
Did you ever have mono? I know I did about 7 years ago and they say it never fully goes away. When I get real run down I start to get the symptoms again. It really stinks.

InsideBall,
That's tough with all the kids getting sick at school. For them to be closing the schools for it, it must be a pretty big problem. I hope your kids don't get sick :) .

Well, I guess I should go take a shower for my interview. I am so nervous but I'm telling myself that if it is meant to be it will happen. If not, something else will come along. Talk to you all later :wave2: .

Again, should be working, must post!

Tamie - That picture is priceless. He looks as if he's saying, "Hello, lovely ladies." He's going to be a lady killer.

Alice - I was also thinking of something along the lines of storming MK. Have you ever seen the craziness that is the race to Dumbo? I almost got run over once trying to get FPs to Philharmagic. Parents with no regard for their child's safety - just be the first ones in line for Dumbo! Let's make a "date" for two or three years from now for our moms' trip.

Hillbeans - I did not notice the Mickey pj's before. And yes, we all have cute babies. :teeth: What's the odds on that happening?

Jill - Jimmy had a flat spot on the back of his head for a little while. It went away as he spent less and less time on his back and move on to tummy time and sitting up. I was never too concerned about it.
I hope JP is feeling better after his shot. Btw, one of the teachers who works in my building went through the insurance nightmare with RSV shots for his youngest son. Hershey Medical Center now has a policy about the shots due to the problems they had. They wanted him and his wife to go there when they announced their plan. He said the amount they were faced with paying was $6000.
Praxis - I took my tests back in 1997 when I was graduating from college. I did very well on the tests without really studying or worrying about them. I am a good test taker, though. I know many of our subs have taken them recently and have had difficulty. I think they require essays now. Many people I've spoken with ran out of time and didn't get to finish. Good luck if you're taking them soon!

zalansky - Glad to hear your playdate went well. My 5 y.o. nephew is in karate class and really seems to like it. I hope your son enjoys it, too.

Speaking of big babies, Jimmy was almost 20 lbs. at his 4 mo. appointment. The nurse took one look at him in his infant carrier and told us it was time for a new carseat. Maybe us DIS moms grow big boys.

Hi to all the other mommies out there! Hope you're all having a great Groundhog's Day! Six more weeks of winter!

Good morning all! :sunny: Another gray rainy day for us! :sad2: It's hard to find rainy day activities in my parents house, they're just not set up to entertain a 2 year old all day long. tomorrow we'll go visit my sister and neice so that will be a change of pace.

Zalansky--you are so welcome about the DVC thing. I'm glad it worked out for you :woohoo: (even if DH isn't quite so sure ;) ) We're really glad we did it--maybe we can meet up sometime b/c we'll have to take a trip in the next year anyway! :teeth: Glad your moms group worked out. I know what you mean about being a little shy  and meeting new people. I got prego with DD right after we moved to a new town halfway across the US from anyone we knew. So it really took a leap of faith for me to meet new people. Luckily, the hospital where I delivered DD had a drop in mom's group, mostly for bfeeding advice, but it turned out that I met the best friends I have now at that group. :goodvibes Good luck to the over 30 mom's club!

Alice28--okay, I don't normally laugh out loud while on the computer, but your post about us storming fantasy land like the beaches of Normandy had me rolling on the floor!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I can just picture it--like get the heck out of our way--we're DIS mom's and we're entitled to ram you with our strollers and bfeed in public, and all that other "controversial" stuff! It would be a hoot! I know planning something would be a logistical nightmare, but just imagining the fear in peoples' eyes as we came down Main Street USA is priceless in it's own right!

Jill--I hope JP is feeling better after his shot. Matthew had shots last week and I've never heard him cry like that. DD never really minded the shots, but I was almost in tears with DS started screaming. :sad2:

Hillbeans--yeah, I guess we do have a pretty big "big baby" contingent here! :teeth: DD was also, and still is, a big girl. My mom says she's going to be a "sturdy" girl. Oh, great, that's like saying she'll need the husky jeans! :lmao: Anyway, she was always off the charts with height and weight (like over the 100 percentile) at her checkups. The doctor said as long as she was on the same curve she'd always been on, not to worry. I'm super paranoid about childhood obesity, so I think I'm micromanaging her diet. I should just listen to the doctor--she's healthy and will slim down as she gets taller! Oh, and cute pic of Liam--I just noticed the mickeys since you pointed them out!

Tkyes-- I hope you're feeling better. When DD was a baby, our family had the stomach bug more times than I care to imagine. There was one time that I had it, then she got it, and then as soon as I was feeling better DH got it. It was a 3 day nightmare at our house. I felt like I was constantly spraying something or someone down with Lysol!

Well, JoJo is over and DD is starting to get restless. As you can see, I'm not against the TV thing! ;) I'll check back in later! Have a great Thursday--only one more day to the weekend! :woohoo:

Thanks everyone for making me feel better about what I do with Madison. Let me just say, I am in no way against tv. I spent about a good year trying to get Madison interested in PBS or Playhouse Disney just so I could do simple things like laundry, but she had absolutely no interest till around 19 months or so. Well since then she watches Playhouse Disney from the time she wakes up in the morning till she goes to school, about 1-1.5 hours depending on what time she wakes up. She falls asleep on the way home around 11:30 and generally sleeps for around 2 hours so by the time she wakes up Playhouse Disney is almost over so that's pretty much it for the day for her cause there's nothing else she's really into. But now, after she eats lunch then she asks for Monsters Inc. Then that ends and she wants Bear in the Big Blue House, then Toy Story. Ordinarily I'd maybe allow one, but the past couple of weeks if she wants to watch all 3 I let her, and I feel bad cause I feel like that's all she does, but knowing that others did it too makes me feel a lot better!

Nucpharm, I have a fear of childhood obesity too, though I never realized it till recently. My nieces and nephews were all normal weight, but Joey's niece and nephew are huge, huge kids. His nephew is just under 6 months older than Madison and about 15 lbs. heavier, but only about 2 inches taller. Madison's been pretty small though since she was 3 months old, weight wise that is, and so I have been thinking with this pregnancy, 'what if it's a big baby?' I'm so afraid that if this one is bigger than Madison that I'll think it's fat and then try to micromanage its diet too. I'm just so used to a skinny baby that even if this one is a normal weight that I'll think it's overweight. But you're right, they'll slim down as they grow so it isn't really something to worry about at a really young age unless they truly are obese, which I think is probably rare.

Tamie sorry all of you guys are sick. I know how bad that is since we just went through that too. Hopefully you'll all feel better very quickly.

Jill, I've seen little headrests with holes in the back that maybe you could try. I think they're for carseats/strollers, but maybe a crib too? With Madison we had a sleep positioner that had a foam headpad that supposedly helped avoid the flat head stuff. Madison never had a flat head so maybe it worked, or maybe that was just her, who knows. Anyway, it was like $10 so maybe you could try it. We got it at Buy Buy Baby in Rockville (though I think there's one in Springfield now too). And I'm sure Babies R Us has them too.

Lissawynn, I was LOL at your description of people running to Dumbo. We ate at Cindy's princess breakfast last April and when we finished people were lined up outside the castle for rope drop. It was insane, they were like pushed against the rope like they were getting ready to start a race. Well our stroller was parked outside the rope so the people behind it were so angry that we got a 'head start'. It was ridiculous. I told my husband we should run to Dumbo just cause we'd get there first since and annoy the heck out of the people in the front cause we got to start like 5 feet in front of them. So insane. The funny thing was, when we were there over Christmas this year, Dumbo was a walk on for the first 1.5-2 hours the parks were open every morning so anyone who did the Dumbo Run those days must have felt like an idiot an hour later.

I forgot to say this before and I think it's kinda funny. I posted a thread on the family board asking about bringing Madison's carseat on our WDW trip in March. We usually use it on the plane cause she stays in the seat, no questions asked, and generally sleeps in it. But I'm flying with her myself in March cause my husband wasn't sure if he could come or for how long so by the time he figured that out the flights we're on were over $400 for him so he'll be on different, much cheaper flights. So since it's just me and Madison and I'll be about 17 weeks by then, I was wondering if I'll really feel like carrying the carseat on my back, in addition to the diaper bag, plus Madison and the stroller. So I thought maybe I'd take Magical Express this time (we usually get a towncar) cause then I wouldn't need her carseat for the bus either. Well I got some very good replies and suggestions (including something that converts the carseat to a stroller so I could use that in the airport if I bring the carseat and then send the regular stroller down with my husband later that day).

Well today someone posted something like "how magical do you think magical express is that your child will be safe without a carseat?" She said it was just directed to me, but everyone who uses Disney transportation, and that we should all rent cars and use carseats. She was sorta friendly about it, but really, look at that parking lot now, imagine if everyone rented a car and drove?! And would buses really be allowed to operate if they were that dangerous?

Good morning mommies. Lily had a temp again this morning, another stay home day for us. I was hoping she would be getting better. At least we both slept well last night.

About the big babies, I read that and then thought, not Madsion and my girls. :teeth: Then I read what you said just that. I kind of felt that way too when all my friends were having such big kids. You know while both my girls were normal weight when born, Anna never had the baby roles of fat. They were always in the 10% of weight, just tiny kids. (like me, and I guess you just that.) Lily has those rolls of that though, (even when she wasn't gaining weight.) It is just kind of who she is. No big thing, babies should have rolls of fat, Anna never did so it was different for me. However it wasn't hard knowing how much she should eat. (especailly when breast feeding, they stop when they are full, you don't try to get a few more ounces in because they normally do.) In fact they say bf babies are less likely to be obsese adults, and that is one of the reasons. They learn to understand their own eating habbits better. Of course Lily walks around all day asking to eat and refusing everything I offer (expect Chocolate, but she isn't just having that.) I think that is more about being 18 month old. Oh, I forgot to mention she mastered the word "No" last week. We have been hearing it ever since.

Anyway my point is a full baby is a happy baby and what makes a baby well feed is different for every child. Madison didn't eat much, your next might but it won't be as hard to understand because they will let you know.

Zalansky- I'm glad you were able to find a playgroup! That sounds like fun. :thumbsup2 And congrats on purchasing more DVC points! That's so cool! I've never stayed at Hardrock, but I'm sure it will be totally fun. Esp cause your DH's work is paying for it! That's always nice, right!? ::yes::

Tkyes- I'm so sorry you all don't feel well. I am hoping it's just a 24 hour thing or something. :guilty:

Val- GOOD LUCK today!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Let us know how it went, ok?

Justhat- WHY oh WHY do people have to be such snots here on the DIS sometimes??????????????????? Good lord that irritates me so much. I've done the dragging the carseat through the airport, with the baby, stroller and diaper bag. It isn't fun. (Done it with two kids, nay, make that THREE by myself! I flew to San Jose last August and did it- pain in the a**). I say, go with Magical Express, it will be just fine, and save yourself a headache or two. And a few bucks.

I do believe that Dumbo scenario is referred to as "Dumbo, Do or Die" in the unofficial WDW Guide. Cracks me up. :rotfl2: I mean, there is no Rocket Jets Do or Die. No Aladdin Carpets Do or Die...no Dinosaur Triceratops Do or Die....what IS it about Dumbo? I guess too many WDW commercials feature the cute little guy. My kids have never really whined to go on it, although we have. They'd rather be going on Buzz Lightyear 5 times in a row. I'm picturing that music called Flight of the Valkaries (forgive the SP) playing in the background while we are making our way down Main Street- Cinderella seeing us coming, picking up the hem of her gown and making a run for it back to her dressing room in the castle.... :teeth:

Hillbeans- LOVE the Mickey Jammies. And just Liam's little face is so sweet!

MORE rain here in the Pacific NW. We just came off the rainiest January in 30 years. It's really getting old. But it's not too cold, so that's good. I am just dying to have more than an hour or two of blue sky!!!!!!!!!!Today I must pick up the disaster zone AKA my son's room and playroom....it is a pit. And I promised DH I would go to Costco to pick up some NY Steaks that I have a coupon for.

Insideball- can't wait to see some pics!

DisneyPhD- Sounds like your children are healthy as can be- not all kids can be the chunky ones, that would be boring, right? (Yes, I listened to Free to Be You and Me a lot as a child!). Although I seem to also have the 'sturdy' (LOL) ones. Although my boys have become Joe Average as they got older....they are both about 50-60% for both height and weight now, although they were in the 90-100% as babies/toddlers.

Anyway, I need to get some things accomplished this morning. I'll check back later!

Ugh! This has not started out to be a good morning here! I think I told all of you that Kylie woke up with pink eye last week, right? Well, we thought the eye drops (4x a day for 7 days which was not fun!) took care of the problem. Yesterday was the 1st day we did not have to give her eye drops and she seemed fine. She has had a cold though but nothing major as far as I could tell. Well, this morning she woke up with her eye full of gunk again! I called her pediatric clinic and talked to a nurse. Last time they refused to even have her come in...just called in a prescription for the eye drops even though I wanted to have her looked at just to make sure. Mother's intuition was right on spot on that one! If they had looked at her a week ago we might've avoided going through this again this week! Anyway, she was scheduled for her 9 month appt. next Tues. so I asked them if I could go ahead and not only have them look at her but also have them combine her 9 month appt. into today's appt. so I won't have to go back in a few days. They said they would so we have an appt. today at 3. I am worried she may have an ear infection (possibly a double ear infection!) now b/c she has just recently started tugging on her ears! Other than that and minor cold symptoms she seems fine and as happy as ever.

On a positive note, at least I will get to see what her 9 month stats are today. She didn't gain any weight between 5-7 months and stayed at 18 lbs the whole time but I am certain she is at least 20 lbs now. Guess we'll see! I will try to catch up with posts later. The weather is nasty outside on top of everything else and the rain is making me sleepy! I am going to see if I can get Kylie to lay down and take a nap so I can take one too. I'll update after her appt.

justthat - The best part about the Dumbo race was that the parents had very little concern for the safety of their children. Honestly, they were RUNNING full speed to be the first ones in line. The strollers were wobbling back and forth, some wheels may have even been off the ground, that's how fast they were going. I could picture kids flying out of their seats, landing on the ground, and the parents barely slowing down to scoop them up and get in line. It was INSANE.
For our July trip, we had to get a van from Tiffany because my son and nephew both need carseats. I asked about providing seats and the reply was a van was needed to accommodate the two seats. I'm not going to grip about it, but saying that you were basically taking a risk b/c Madison wouldn't be in a seat is no one else's buisness but yours.

Tasha+Scott - Jimmy had majorly gookie eyes right after Christmas. They were closed shut each morning that's how bad they were. He had double ear infections. I thought it was pink eye and didn't take him to the dr. b/c I had opthalmic ointment to use. I wish I would have know what it was. I could have saved him a week of pain and suffering.

I'm picturing that music called Flight of the Valkaries (forgive the SP) playing in the background while we are making our way down Main Street- Cinderella seeing us coming, picking up the hem of her gown and making a run for it back to her dressing room in the castle.... :teeth:

DisneyPhD- Sounds like your children are healthy as can be- not all kids can be the chunky ones, that would be boring, right? (Yes, I listened to Free to Be You and Me a lot as a child!). Although I seem to also have the 'sturdy' (LOL) ones. Although my boys have become Joe Average as they got older....they are both about 50-60% for both height and weight now, although they were in the 90-100% as babies/toddlers.

Anyway, I need to get some things accomplished this morning. I'll check back later!

What is it with the car seat thing? Yes car seats are great things, they keep our children safe (and more comfortable.) Use them correctly and every time....... When I used to work in Detroit (this was college around 15 years ago mind you.) I used to see car loads of kids (babies really) just bouncing around in the back seat, 6 or 7 kids at a time. It drove me nuts. I must say I haven't seen that in along time (seat belt laws now.) However why do some people feel they need to belittle everyone who isn't annal retentive about car seats? Ok vent over.

That is so true about babies sizes. We joined a parent group sponsered by the hosptial Anna was born at. All the kids (10 total) were born with in a few weeks of each other. One girls looked so much like Anna, long dark hair and the same complextion. However in size was the opposite of Anna, 90%. Now they are both almost 5 years old and while the other little girl is still a bit larger and taller, they don't like all that different. They have both averaged out, yes Anna is still trim and thin, but the other girl is not fat at all.

Tasha, hugs, I hate having sick babies. I feel so bad for them. I hope all goes well at the Doc today and they find out what is wrong (and can fix it fast.) They said Lily's was just a virus and her lungs and ears were clean (good really, I am slightly paronid about anti botics, her food allergy developed and got wrose the 1st 2 times she had peniclian. Might just be nothing, but her going on it makes me nevous.

We always make a bee line for Dumbo. It was Anna's 1st ride and she likes to ride it 1st every trips. However we just go 1st because the line gets long and I refuse to wait over 20 min for it. However I have never ran to it. (Ok, I have to admit I have for Space montain, but that seems another lifetime ago. :rotfl: Once DH rode SM just before closing got off and ran all the way around androde again, the last people in line. The CM rode in the car with us on the way down. We closed Space Montain. Boy those days seem a long time ago (maybe this was 1999 or 2000.) ;)

LOL, I remember the days of running to rides too, but that was way pre-kid. In fact, I was probably about 15 or so myself. My mom let me bring a friend (mostly cause we were going with her friend who had 2 tiny kids, like 3 and 5, and my grandmother so she knew I'd be bored hanging with the old people or little kids) and we ran off almost every morning. But seriously, to hit up rides like that with your kids practically flying out of strollers, my gosh. Oh, and Alice28, Madison would much rather ride Buzz 1000 times in a row than go on almost anything else so we always start our day at Buzz now. We typically have to go on it about 5 times in a row and then get FPs for later in the day.

Tasha, I hope Kylie feels better soon. We also used an ointment with Madison when she had pinkeye and I think it would be much easier to apply on a baby than drops so maybe you can ask about that. She only had pinkeye once (when she was 4 weeks old) but since then, everytime she gets a cold she'll often get a watery, crusty eye. Not pink, but just sorta gunky. Madison's ointment was erythromycin.

Alice28, I gotta give you a lot of credit for taking 3 kids and the carseat, stroller, bag, whatever else you had (cause I'm sure there was more, with kids I find there is never an end to what you cart around!) by yourself. I hate doing the carseat/stroller/bag/kid thing in the airport and I've done it myself more times than I care to think about. Yeah, I'm all for safety too, like DisneyPhD said, use carseats, they're good and sold for a reason, but honestly, would buses be allowed to operate if they were dangerously unsafe? I would never take Madison in a car without a carseat, but they're not an option in buses, or any other mass transit that I know of. We use the metro all the time here and I'm sure those trains and their operators are much less safe than a Disney bus. Have you guys ever seen a metro operator in DC? They're downright scary. But living in a city we don't even think twice about it cause we use the train so much. Oh well, I guess there will always be people with opinions like that. I have to admit, her wording of saying ME is not magical enough to make my kid safe was so funny that I couldn't even get annoyed. Like I'd every have time to think that creatively in a post about carseats!

Lissawynn, we had to get a van last time too cause we brought my mom and with the extra body and bags we didn't have enough room in the towncar. Too bad our flight got in late though and they gave away our van and stuck us in a towncar and then acted like that's what we booked. We squeezed in rather than wait 40 minutes for our van but we made sure the guy had a van on the way home.

Hi mommies :wave2:

I was just reading the posts about the buses and I'm confused. I know on the Disney Hotel Guest transpo most babies are heald in laps. But am I getting it correctly you can't use a car seat on the ME from the airport? If you've taken a car seat on the plane is it stowed as luggage?
