SL- I'm with DisKim- darn! But thank you for sharing that- I was just hoping they would do a 'boy' geared meal too. I love Little Einsteins though - it is just the cutest show

DisKim- I'm sorry you are feeling depressed. I get in the dumper about money too, but I just try and make the best of things. Thank goodness no one around here wants horse lessons though- those ARE expensive! So far I am just out $75 for a week of wrestling camp this summer; my MIL paid for a week of summer camp for DS8, and I think I can come up with another $200 or so to get both of them involved in a few weeks of parks and rec activities. I REALLY need to go to the store and get Sam some shorts- all of the ones that he wore for like 2 summers cause he didn't grow that much, are now definitely too small! I think I saw some great Osh KOsh ones at Costco for only $10. That will work. He informed me the other day he no longer likes the pull down type shorts (like with no button and zipper)because when he has to go potty in a public restroom, it's embarrassing to have to pull down his whole shorts. I see his point. So I said, "deal, no more pull down shorts." (and I had just bought a pair on clearance at Gymbo, so I took them back).

Bellacam- that poem is so great! I love it! What was everyone's reaction? I'm sorry you and Aidan are down with the stomach bug- hopefully it will be gone SOON. :wizard:

I was able to take a little snooze earlier, and that motivated me to get some exercise in. Miss Molly took a 3 hour ++ nap! WOO HOO! I felt it was God giving me respite to take both a nap, and squeeze in 30 minutes of cardio. :cloud9: Usually it's an either or type of thing, so it was great to do both.

Ladies, would ya look at my countdown???????????? I'm just so freaking excited! the ONLY thing I am hesitant about is spending all the money I saved. The anal part of me wants to try and save at least $50 to put aside for our DL trip since I only want to charge the hotel room for that trip. So far I have about $700 for it.....I need about another $300 and that will be good I think. I got another $20 from that Sunshine Rewards thing. Now they also offer Target gift cards and Shell gas $25 gift cards. Hmmmm....lately they have had crummy offers though, or it's something I already have, like you get $8 for applying for an AMEX; already have one; or $6 for joining the Disney Movie Club....already a member. I'm hoping to get one more set of $20 in Disney Dollars and then I will either stop, or just do the Target cards. I can ALWAYS find something I need at Target, even if it's just diapers!

Anyone who has been to the EPCOT flower and garden show before- tell me about it! I hope Tasha and GLT will post pics of it when they get back. I saw some neat pics on Allears the other day; I need to go back and peruse.

TTFN! :wave2:

Hello all! Last night was another rough one here--DH even noticed how much I was up with Matthew, and he NEVER notices! Hopefully, tonight we'll all get some sleep.

SL--thanks for the heads up on the character meal! DD LOVES JoJo and goliath and LE--we may have to look into it for Sept--But Toy Story would've been cool too; I heard many folks are really disappointed.

Alice--Yippee that your trip is coming so soon. DH and I were in WDW during the Epcot flower thing years ago--we were disney "newbies" so we had no idea what was going on--but it was soooo cool! DH took me as a graduation present and I enjoyed the flowers lots!

bellacam--what a cool way to let the family "in on the secret" Hope your family starts feeling well again soon

DisKim--I'm with you on the money thing--lots of the moms in the playgroups I attend have their kids in music class, dance class, have these huge houses--I feel like sometimes I'm not doing "enough" for Emma! But then I take a step back and realize that she gets just as much out of the free storytime at the library as she would at a $100 music lesson. And heck, she's only two, if I start doing all this stuff now, what will she want from us when she's a teenager!

val--hugs to you!!! :grouphug: Hope your hand gets better soon!

Well, I better get off of here and try to get to bed early. After the past few nights I"m running on empty. I had a mini-breakdown this afternoon after fighting with Emma to nap for 1 1/2 hours! I just had had enough and started crying! I need a break from my kids, and there isn't one in sight! Especially since DH leaves on business for 2 weeks on Monday! Just please keep me in your thoughts that I don't go crazy--I really need this transfer to come through for us, so I can just drive a few miles and drop my kids off at my parents and have a moment of peace and quiet! Night all!

Hi everyone! :wave2:

Thought I'd check in and see how you lovely ladies were doing.

You will NOT believe this - but I found a pair of light up shoes at Payless! They were size 9 and they had several pairs of them in that size only....and I told my friend that I needed them for my Dream Dis Meet....needless to say she didn't get it but I thought it was just great. The shoes are a riot. I should have taken a pic!

Bellacam- I love the poem you made up, its great. I am looking forward to following your progress! Will you find out the sex of the baby?

Alice! YAY for your countdown! I am pysched for you and you mom. What a blast you are going to have!

nucpharm - hope tonight brings you more peaceful sleep. My DH is away for 2 nights for work and I thought that was bad! You poor girl....

I will check back in later, phone rang. Have a great night ladies!

:goodvibes

Jenna slipped on the kitchen floor yesterday and busted her mouth. When I picked her up and saw blood coming from her mouth I was so scared that she might have knocked out a tooth, but luckily she had just busted her top lip. :sad1:

Happy 1st Birthday to Tyler! Have a great day, little man! :cake:

Happy Birthday, lissawynn! Hope you have a great one! party:

GLT- Hope you are having a great time at WDW!

floridafam- Wish my Target would have had the rocking elephants. I would have bought one of those as well. Jenna loves elephants.

Alice- Hope Molly feels better soon. My parents went to the flower and garden show last year, and they said it was so beautiful.

nucpharm- Once again, I hope the job opportunity in Arkansas works out for your DH.

Tasha- Glad Kylie enjoyed her birthday parties. Cute pictures! Your dad looks so young.

Gems- Have a great time on your "holiday"!

joats- Hope your hives have cleared up. Jenna liked the "The First Years Take & Toss Little Learner Spill-Proof Cups" when she started using sippy cups.
1192.jpg

SL- Sorry you had to be the ribbon collector at your SIL's shower. I am a big Target clearance shopper myself. I got a TON of stuff this weekend when the Easter stuff was 75% and 90% off. Sorry to hear that you didn't get the contract that you worked so hard to get. Good luck with your grad school application.

Tamie- Glad Tyler's party went well. We are really looking forward to seeing the pictures when you get them back.

Jill- Congrats to John on rolling over! :cheer2: Glad your DH was there to share in the special moment. Jenna just loves playing on the scooter from Target. I went back to get another one for my nephew and there were none left. You might get lucky and find one. Check the clearance end caps and the regular shelves.

Valerie- Sorry to hear that you cut your thumb. Ouch! Hope there is no nerve damage.

bellacam- Hope you and Aidan feel better soon! Cute announcement.

DisKim- When I was a GS there was a program called S.P.U.R.S.- Super People Using Riding Skills. I absolutely LOVED it. Is it available in your area? It might just be a local program. Here is a link

Loretta- Can't believe you didn't buy the shoes! ;)

Hi to justhat, Hillbeans, BuzznBelle'smom, ryan840, DisneyPhD, and all other DIS moms!

TTFN!

Robin - You gave me my morning laugh with your son's comment about the shorts :rotfl2: . Why are boys so particular when it comes to using the restroom. Alex flushes the toilet with his foot and will not touch a public restroom door on pain of death. DH has passed on all of his idiosyncracies to our son. BTW, awesome countdown!!

J&D - Poor Jenna! Emily busted her lip open when she was little. It was so bad I had to take her to the ER and they had to call in a plastic surgeon. It was one of my worst days as a parent ever.

zalansky - I'm a size 9 in shoes :Pinkbounc . Now I know I can go get some light up shoes! LOL about your freind not getting it. I talk to people about my DIS friends and they look at me like I'm nuts. My friends want to plan a trip to WDW together and I told them I have to do a DIS moms meet first. I don't think they got it.

I just found out from DH that I have to change all the dates for our trip in August. I hope I can get the ADR's I want now. I also really don't have the time to sit and draw up another itinerary. DH wants me to book a night at Nick Hotel because it is Alex's dream to stay there. I think I'm just going to plan on hanging at the hotel the whole day so he can enjoy it. I thought about Sea World but it's just more of an expense. I told DH we would be wasting a day of free dining!

I have to get to work but I wanted to hop on to say a big HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO TYLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! party: :bday: :cake: I hope Tyler has a great day!!

Morning ladies!

I can't believe I have a 1 year old! I forgot to tell you guys that Tyler took a couple of steps on Sunday. It was so cute. We've been trying to get him to do it again, but he's not interested. He popped out two more teeth this weekend too.

DH is going to take the afternoon off and I think we are going to the zoo. I made some cupcakes to share with the neighborhood kids tonight too.

alice - LOL about the shorts! Yeah on your countdown!! Don't feel guilty about spending the money, you deserve it. You'll save up more for your DL trip.

diskim - I hope you can get the ADRs that you want too. That's kind of a pain in the rear!

zalansky - I can't believe you didn't buy the shoes!!

bellacam - I'm so sorry to hear about Aidan. That is the worst! Have you heard of the BRAT diet? Banana, rice and toast - it does work well to settle their stomachs.

j&d - Oh, poor Jenna! I would have freaked out.

vald - I'm so sorry to hear you cut your thumb! I'm just cringing thinking about it!

nuchpharm - I'm sorry you had another rough night! Is Matthew getting up because he's hungry, teething, any idea? I'll cross my fingers for the transfer. I wish you were closer to me, we could have a mini DIS meet!

sl - Thanks for sharing that news, I hadn't heard about the character meal. I'm a little bummed it isn't a boys meal too.

floridafam - I would be happy to help you with invitations. Yes, I do stuff like that from home.

jill - yeah to John for rolling over. That's so great that you both saw it happen!

I should run, Tyler took off out of the office and is getting into trouble.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Tamie

Good morning everyone!

Happy first birthday Tyler! party:

I'll try to catch up a little later. I have a million things going on today at work!

Happy 1st birthday Tyler!!!! Wow, Tamie, I remember your photos of him at 2 months old next to his little toy and now he's already a year!

Hi mommies! We're back from our trip, but someone is coming over to appraise our condo today cause our buyer (who said he did not need financing) decided he wants to take out a loan. The appraiser is coming at 11:30 and since we did not know any of this the place is a mess so I'm off to clean up, then shower, pick up Madison, hang out by her school for a bit and hope the appraiser is done when I get back. Then this afternoon I have an appt with my OB-of course I just got my AFP test done yesterday so he won't have the results, which I'm sure he'll be thrilled about since I was supposed to get it done a month ago. I feel kinda guilty cause with Madison I got every test done on time. But then I thought, why even get the AFP? What good is that going to do me? Oh well. Anyway, we got back very late Monday night, around midnight (the airline left both our bags in Miami after going through customs/immigration so we were in the airport a very long time), so I haven't caught up yet, so I'll have to do that later. Hope everyone has a great day!

:bday: Happy First Birthday, Tyler!! party:

Congrats on Tyler taking a few steps, too.

I didn't really know they were seriously considering a character meal geared towards boys. I read about the Playhouse Disney one on another site, then checked the restaurant board here and found out all that info. I can see how they'd have constant interest as there will always be toddlers in the parks but for families, the novelty of that meal will wear off after only a couple years.

val - sorry about your thumb. I hope it heals up quickly.

Alice28 - Yay for your countdown timer! :yay: I'm still in the triple digits. Too early for me to get excited.

J&D - Poor Jenna! I hope her lip heals up quickly.

bellacam - That's a cute email you sent out.

zalansky - I can't believe you found the light up shoes! I'll have to go to the Payless I found them in and see if they're still there.

DisKim - I hope you get the ADRs you want.

nucpharm - :grouphug: I hope you get to refuel soon. Good luck while your DH is away!

justhat - Welcome back!

The etiquette police are going to get me for sure. DH's cousin is having a baby shower (twins) on Sunday and I never RSVP'ed. I completely forgot about it since I'm not going. I'm going to pretend I thought I was supposed to call only if I was attending. OOPS! I didn't even buy her anything. DH says they were really close (mind you, I've only met her a handful of times) so I should at least send something. Guess I have to check her registry now. There's no way it'll get there by this weekend, but I guess it's the gesture that counts.

I was in such a hurry that I forgot to wish Lissawynn a Happy Birthday!! :cake: I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Tamie

Happy 1st Birthday to Tyler! :bday: Yay for taking some steps! :yay:

Happy Birthday lissawynn! :flower3:

Hope both of your days are filled with fun and a surprise or two!

J&D- I'm sorry Jenna fell and hurt her lip. It's always scary to see blood coming out of your baby's mouth. :guilty:

DisKim- LOL about Alex opening the doors in restrooms with his foot! :rotfl2: That's a good one. The things they pick up from us parents and we don't even realize it- not that that's a bad thing....they say the most germs in the public restrooms are on the doors and the faucet handles. :crazy2:

Zalansky- Cool about the light up shoes! I shoudl go to a Payless and just check them out.!

SL- Whoops about the RSVPing....it will still be nice just to send a gift.

Justhat- I think I only did the AFP with one of my kids- I just figured it was something else to worry about with all the false positives. I hope you are able to get everything you need to get done for the appraiser.

nucpharm- I hope you got a better night's sleep last night. :grouphug:

I had a crummy night's sleep last night and not because of children. My sinuses are killing me. I did some sinus rinse last night, basically just a warm salt water solution you squirt up one nostril and it drains out the other, or out your mouth. Nasty, I know, but it works. Well, you're not supposed to do it if you're "too" congested. Well, I guess I was "too" congested last night, so it totally plugged up my left ear! It hurt! So all night my left ear was popping and crackling, but not relieving the pressure. I remembered what it felt like to have an ear ache and made me all the more sympathetic to Molly and her double ear infection over the weekend. I FINALLY fell asleep sometime after 1, but it's still not totally relieved. :sad2: I took two sudafed as soon as I got up, so hopefully that will help.

And then DH came downstairs to get Molly, but got me up cause she had a mega diaper blow out- must be because of the amoxicillian. Poor baby. I said to dh, You better hope this doesn't happen when I'm gone, cause you will have to deal with it! I mean, geez.....he deals with throw up better than poop, and to me poop is less offensive than throw up...whatever, we all have our quirks. :confused3 Mine happens to be ear wax....yuck.

Anyway, I'm going to try and lay down on the couch for a little while. The only thing I have to do today is be the helper at Josh's school for 2 1/2 hours. I just want to lay low...

I just read this in my Allears newsletter- I forget how many of you are going during the free dining promo, but I just about died when I saw that the Wiggles will be performing for a few days! I'm jealous! :teeth:

Also today, Disney announced a new program called Magical Beginnings, custom-designed to reduce hassles and increase the magic for families traveling with toddlers or preschoolers. The new Magical Beginnings program offers value travel packages, entertainment, targeted planning tools and a host of services and amenities to make navigating Disney parks with children 5 and younger easier than ever. There is a even a travel season designated just for "little ones." In addition to the previously announced Magic Your Way vacation package that includes the free dining plan, available for stays between August 13 and September 30, here are some other highlights of what's been dubbed "Little Ones Travel Time":

-- a series of shows called "Playhouse Disney in Concert" (presented by Huggies and Pull-Ups) will feature a variety of kid crowd-pleasers. The award-winning Australian foursome The Wiggles will perform multiple shows daily, August 29- September 1. Other shows will include: The Doodlebops; Johnny & the Sprites, featuring Johnny Tartaglia; Dan Zanes and more. In addition, the new "Mickey's Magic Show" created by Feld Entertainment, will make its first-ever park appearance.

-- Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom will open an hour early on select days for Disney guests and their small-fry for favorites such as Dumbo the Flying Elephant, it's a small world and Peter Pan's Flight, and the play area, Pooh's Playful Spot. Plus, youngsters can meet favorite characters during the special edition Extra Magic Hours. While guests must have Resort ID and valid ticketing for Fantasyland Extra Magic Hours, there is no additional charge to enjoy this extra time in the parks. This early access allows families with young ones to get an early start to their day and maximize park time before heading back to their Disney resort for an afternoon break.

Special on-line planning tools will also be available as part of the new program, including a Magical Beginnings in-park map highlighting age-appropriate attractions, hassle-reducing services, and specially trained Disney reservation agents. For more information, visit http://www.disneyworld.com and select "Something For Everyone" and choose "Preschoolers" for more details and travel tips. Bookings for the new travel package during the Little Ones Travel Time at Walt Disney World can be made through June 4 by calling 407-WDW-PREK, or by visiting http://www.Disneyworld.com/preK . Good afternoon ladies! :wave2:

Happy Birthday to Lissawynn! :bday: :bday:

Happy 1st Birthday to Tyler! party: Whoo Hoo! on the walking too! That is great!

Robin - I hope you are feeling better soon! Sinus and ear aches are terrible! :grouphug:

As far as the weight loss challenge, I seem to be stuck. Ugh. I went to my WW meeting and I was up 6/10 of a lbs. So set me back up to wanting to lose 15 lbs. I'm hoping next week is better.

Justhat - Welcome back! Good luck with getting everything done.

J&D - Poor little Jenna! Sending hugs your way that her lip heals very quickly. :grouphug:

Zalansky - Too funny about finding the shoes! :rotfl2: I'm seriously going to be looking for some for our future Mom's Dis Meet! :thumbsup2

Nucpharm - I hope that you got some much needed rest last night!

SL - Thanks for info. about the character meal. :thumbsup2 One of my good friends is going to WDW on Saturday and I filled her in on the news! As far as the baby shower, I think you will be fine if you just get a gift to send along. I 've been in your situation before and have forgotten to RSVP to a shower.

Valerie - Ouch about your thumb! I hope it heals up very quickly for you. :grouphug:

DisKim - Sorry to hear that you are feeling blue. I'm sending warm wishes your way that a job comes through for your DH! Also, you are not a bad mom for not being able to do Horseback riding lessons for Emily. I too, feel guilty sometimes when I can't give the girls what they want, but then I realize that they've got a great life with parents who love them dearly. You are an awesome mom who loves her kids! :goodvibes

Hi to all the moms!! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day!

This evening I'm going to visit my best friend who gave birth to twin boys yesterday! I'm so excited for her and she and the babies are doing great so far! I can't wait to see the little guys!

I better get back to studying while John is napping! This studying is going terribly since I feel awful with allergies. I've got this awful headache that just won't go away. Yuck. Thankfully, we had rain last night so the pollen count is down. All I can say is my headache better be gone by 7:30 Saturday morning so I can focus on my exam. I'll try to pop in later when I can!

Bye! :goodvibes

Good afternoon, ladies! Happy Birthday to Tyler and Lissawynn!

I made my first trip to the grocery store with Luke--I'm thinking it will be my last for a while! Poor kid, he was good at first, but just sobbed towards the end--overtired. He did this at the mall last weekend, too. Where do parents get those kids that placidly sleep in their infant seat/stroller while Mom shops? I had ASKED for one this time--I'm 0/4 on getting one! But at least the other shoppers were real sympathetic--mostly moms and grandmoms. One lady even helped me unload my cart, which was above and beyond the call of duty, IMHO.

Luke seems to be growing, but not chubbier, just longer! I swear, he was in a footed Gymboree newborn size yeasterday, and it's getting short on him. No fair! But at least he's growing. he's 2 months today, and sees the doctor again on Friday.

I'm so disappointed about the Hollywood & Vine breakfast--we don't do Little Einsteins or Jo-jo, so we'll skip it. I was really hoping for a boy breakfast.

I'm going to be in WDW when the Wiggles are there--are they going ot be in MGM? That was the impression I got, but it didn't say. We don't watch them, either, but I've heard rave reviews. Just so you know, DD2 is a Sesame Street fanatic, so that's what she watches--it's an hour a day, that's enough TV for me. I'm not totally against toddler TV shows! But anyway, I might consider "introducing" her to the Wiggles, if they're worth going to see...or it might be a great time to hit another park since the toddler traffic will be drawn away! At any rate, the overall "Magical Beginnings" didn't sound all that great to me. We'll likely use the Extra Magic hours, if they have them on days we're going to the parks, but won't change any plans or anything. Kepp in mind, though, I have 2 older kids, too, so a vacation revolving around a toddler isn't happening, while it might for some of you.

It's kind of good to hear I'm not the only one having trouble sleeping--I keep waking up at 10:30 pm, all worked up because I forgot to take some medicine I need for Luke. Fortunately, DH is used to this--he knows it's stress, not much we can do.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon!

DisKim, you're very right about horseback riding lessons being pricey, and it only gets worse if you get more "serious" about them. We go to a ranch every summer, where the older two ride every day, then there are pony rides for the little ones. That seems to keep my DD(almost)11 happy. My nieces do riding and I know it's $$$, so I get off easy with the stuff my kids are in.

SL, if it makes you feel any better, I once RSVP'd that my son would go to a party, then I completely zoned on it and we missed it entirely. I felt so bad when I realized it. These things happen. I would send a gift, maybe something small, since it's important to your DH.

Hi everyone! Thank you all for the birthday wishes! All in all, it was a pretty good day at school. DH sent me a basket of flowers from him and Jimmy. I feel kind of bad b/c he won't be home until late tonight. He feels terrible. He even ordered me a cake but can't pick it up. I can't go get it b/c Jimmy is napping. Oh well. He even offered to give me his overtime pay since he can't be home.

Alice - I hope you're feeling better. Thanks for the info about travelling through WDW with a little guy. Btw, I am in LOVE  with my iPod. It's terrible, but I can't wait to download some new music on it. I put a whole bunch of cds on my computer yesterday so I could add new music. I need to get in the habit of writing down the music I want, so I don't forget the titles when it comes time to download stuff.

DisKim - Don't beat yourself up over not having a disposeable income for things like riding lessons. It sounds like you do SO much for your kids. You never know when a great opportunity will present itself for your DH or you and your "fortunes" will change. I would love to have the $$$ to move into a bigger home and still spend like I do. I can't do both, so we're here in our small place, but we can go out the eat when we want, and I can buy a new VB bag when I want.

BnB - Sorry your shopping trip didn't work out for you. Jimmy was always a good shopper when he was little. Now that he's older and becoming more independent, he's a bit much sometimes.

Jill - I hope you're feeling better and can get some studying done.

SL - If the etiquette police are coming for you, they're going to lock me up. I am actually considering not attending my SIL's bridal shower. It's on the Sunday before Memorial Day. We were planning on going to my mom's place in NY for a long weekend, but because the shower is on Sunday, that's a no go. I really don't think I'll be missed b/c my DH and Jimmy were not included in any of their plans (all of DH's sisters and their kids are in the wedding). I already bought her gifts from Williams-Sonoma (did I tell all of you how she registered for a $500 pan?). Anyway, I want to go away and not go to her shower.

justthat - I hope everything works out with your condo sale.

bellacam - I hope you're all feeling well soon! Your stomach bug sounds like what we had a few weeks ago. It was terrible.

Tamie - Yay for Tyler taking some steps! He'll be running soon! :cheer2:

I'm gonna play with my iPod. I hope you all have a great night!

Happy Birthday Lissawynn!! party:

Robin - Thanks for the info on magical beginnings. What a great thing for them to do. I can only imagine how mobbed the Wiggles concerts will be. Emmy and Alex are too old for them and Aidan is not into them yet. If he was, I would consider changing my dates so he could see them! I love that the little ones have their own time in the park. That's so cool. I'm assuming that you can bring your older kids too, right? I can't imagine them letting Aidan in and not my other two!

Alex is at his first karate lesson right now. I wanted to go see so bad but Aidan is sleeping so I let DH go since he had the chance. He's a nut with the camera so I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures and video to look at. I feel bad. I blew off my friend today. We usually meet at the park with the kids but I wasn't in the mood. I see her every day at work. I think I spend more time with my friends than my husband. I have to work on the new dates for my trip. As a matter of fact, I've go some planning to do. Gotta go!
