The Official May 2015 Thread!!

I can't decide between sticking with the Nemo suite at AOA or going for 2 rooms at Pop!

We stayed in Nemo last month and the room was adorable! We asked for lake view and it was a hike from the parking lot -- so I wouldn't do that again -- but had plenty of room in the suite. BUT paid nearly $300 a night for the suite. I can get two rooms at Pop for around $200 a night.

I've heard great things about the food court at Pop -- didn't like the one at AOA...at least not for dinner. We only ate dinner there once and that was enough.

Love the themes at both resorts. I've changed my mind about 10 times in the past week!

If anyone has any thoughts .. chime in please!

It is tough.

Suite~
Pro: You know your party will all be in the same room. Con: Cost is higher.

Two rooms~
Pro: Cost is cheaper. Con: You can request, but might not get connecting/adjoining (whatever you call them with the door between the two) rooms.

I am not sure the size of your party. If it were me, I wouldn't want myself and wife and two kids in one room, then have grandma and another kid a second room down the hall. One suite and everyone is together. I'd pay the extra money.

Booked my trip yesterday! :cool1: Hopefully meal plans come out towards the end of the month. Then I can add that along with tickets on!

All valid points! :thumbsup2

It's me, college-aged daughter, and my two youngest kids -- and my first trip without the hubby. I think I'm going to stick with the family suite!

When oh when will our dates be released? July? Will everyone that hasn't booked yet book as soon as they are released or wait awhile. I use an agent and if a promotion comes out, our price will be adjusted. How does everyone feel about the meal plan? I love the convenience of it.

I am going to book the hotel in July and then get the price adjusted when the discounts come out.. I am hoping some of my friends want to join me but they think it's too far in advance to give me a definite yes or no, so I'll have to add them.

I just become a passholder, so I don't need tickets, but I am going to do the dining plan since I'll be staying 14 days. I'll add the dining plan in October when I book Wild Africa Trek, Keys to Kingdom and Cirque.

I am excited, I get to go to 'Villains Unleased" in August!!!

Count us in!!! Just bought into DVC and will be heading down 5/21-30 at BWV for Star Wars Weekend!!!! Cant wait!!!!

I think the dining plan is worth it for us. I think tho when we go back in may we may just take the QS since my 4 year old granddaughter will be going with us and just pay for a few character meals out of pocket. Its easier with little ones and counter services. She has been to Disney 4 times already and knows the routine!! she absolutely loves the hoop- dee - doo , I just cant do that again for the 11th time!!!!

Hello, thought I would join this party!

We just booked (this morning) the VGF for 5/10 through 5/18.

This is our honeymoon trip, and I am hoping (but not counting on) it being the first Star Wars weekend. However, I think we might be a weekend to early, as it is normally the last two weekends of May and the first two of June. I just cant justify spending more DVC points to go on a holiday weekend. :confused3

We figure that 5/10 and 5/18 are mellow do nothing travel days, since we are coming from Socal.

Cant wait to start planning!!

I hope sooooon!!! I feel like the beginning of the year should be out soon. Last year I started planning my January 2014 trip in June, so. It will probably depend on how much I have saved when I book . I'd like to book asap!

***EDITED*** (don't think you saw my second resort change yet, so I'm changing it a third time by editing my request before you saw it. LOL). Can you please change my resort to The Wilderness Lodge?? Thank you!!!

Sorry I must have missed the first one! I've got you changed. I would love to stay there - it is so beautiful.

Mmmm... don't get mad at me... LOL. My husband said he wants to make good use of our annual passes when we get them during our January trip... He wants to plan a THIRD trip... Woo hoo!!! So we will probably stick with our original plans of staying at Port Orleans Riverside... we can squeeze two trips at that resort for the price of one trip at The Wilderness Lodge. Will probably be taking the 3rd trip in October of 2015. First trip in January we are using our DVC points at BLT. SO. MANY. PLANS!!! LOL. Must buy a new notebook to scribble out each of my itineraries! Haha.

I am in for May! Assuming the 24 Hour Event happens again, I'll go Memorial Day Weekend. I am also planning on at least 1 Star Wars Weekend (but don't want to do the same weekend as 24HR - too much for 1 weekend).

So no dates and not sure about resort. Probably All Star Sports, but that's still up in the air.
