The Official May 2015 Thread!!

Welcome aboard! May is a wonderful time of year to visit! Alot of the schools haven't let out yet, the weather is great (maybe an occasional shower or two), and it doesn't seem as crowded. I will get you added!

Thank you!!! It does sound amazing!!! :)

What is everyone doing to plan their trip?

I have a trip this May to WDW and probably a trip to Disneyland in Dec.

I will wait for the deals to come out in Jan to book my May trip. And I am really hoping I can get my mom to come with me. Although, it's not looking good.

Might have to change my Disneyland trip to a WDW trip to get my mom to come........

I might have to change because I have talked my mom into going I'm thinking 1st week of June, have you ever been?

Im so happy I found this thread!! I just came back on Friday, and even though we had a great time, the Spring Break crowds were crazy!! specially on MK.

So, hubby and I decided to go in May next year, to celebrate my birthday :cool1:

We are thinking May 5-8 and would like to stay at POR. Never stayed in a Mod before, so that's exciting.

You will LOVE POR! It's my favorite so far. It's a beautiful resort. We have stayed in the mansions both times and loved it. The last time was just a short walk to the pool and to the bus stop. Food is good, although I wish that Boatrights still served breakfast. It was one of the best down there.

I will get you added to the dance party!

All our holidays in work have been confirmed!! :cool1:

We've got our price ready at the travel agents and we're booking on Saturday!!! Soooo excited!!

And this week we hit the 300's for days to wait!! 398 and counting!! :hyper:

Unfortunately we won't be able to do a May 2015 trip :(

DH is saying that there is a strong possiblity of contract issues with his employer next year and he does not want to spend money on a big, pricey trip (aka Disney World ) before things are finalized which probably won't be until August 2015. So, we are hoping to be able to do a Sept or Nov 2015 trip instead. I just loved going to Disney in May, spring is such a beautiful time in the parks. I will just have to find a way to get excited about having the free dining (hopefully) and low crowds of a September trip or the Christmas decorations and holiday festivities of a November trip instead. We'll see....

Does anyone know if free dining is offered in May?

It has in the past. When my wife and I went in May 2012 we had it (*might* have been a PIN can't remember now). Value and moderate resorts got quick service dining and I believe deluxe resorts got the regular plan.

Dreaming, reading the Dis, Dreaming, estimating cost on Disney, Dreaming, deciding on which meal plan to get, Dreaming, pricing a Mod hotel instead of Value, Dreaming. . .

My husband is Disney burned out. We've been 9 times in 12 years. So, I dream until he agrees. He will, he does love it, he just doesn't want to think of it more than a year away. Whereas, I can think/dream of it daily. :)

Debbie

You sound like me!! How many of us on here have to convince of husbands WHY we need to do Disney again? :rolleyes1

It is official the Chief or so he thinks in charge has said May 2015 :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: No dates yet still debating :mickeybar

It’s BOOKED!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Excited now as we’re another step closer :) We went to our TA at the weekend and it’s all booked and deposits paid! Cars suite at Art of Animation for May 8th through to May 24th 2015!!

Car & tickets also sorted...just a matter of saving to pay off the balance and spending money and we’re sorted! Super excited to be taking my very own little princess on her 1st ever trip!!

In the 300’s for days now too...woohoo! pixiedust:

Who has stayed at CBR! I am thinking of upgrading!!!

I have stayed at CBR, but it was back in 1998 when my last visit was.

It’s a beautiful resort, very vast though, so you can end up quite a walk away from the amenities depending on where you are placed. Each ‘section’ has its own pool and then there’s the main pool (which we never visited). It’s also quite cool as you can hire boats/pedlo’s on this site too and take it out for a spin, again, this was great :)

I think this is one of the mods which has the free dining attached to it when the offers come out at the end of April? Someone correct me if I’m wrong though!

So does May usually have any discounts??? I guess cbr won't be for us because of the long walk. With just myself and my girls I want something close to the main building and buses.

I hate that you aren't going to get to go with us! :sad1: I can understand why though. I've never been any other time but May - but if I had to choose a different time, it would be when the Christmas decorations were up! I bet it is beautiful. Hopefully everything will work out and we will get to do another May happy dance in the future! Here's wishing you pixiedust: and :grouphug: for your upcoming trip.

Okay so I was going to change my resort to Caribbean Beach Resort and decided not too. I looked at a whole bunch of different hotels. This is what I decided. I will be there May 2 - May 10 at either pop or one of the All star Resorts. It will be cheaper then staying at Caribbean Beach resort from may 2- may 9 :)

That sounds great - and an extra day too! :goodvibes

I have stayed at Disney's All Star Sports and I found it fantastic. I know others aren't keen, as it's only a value resort, but for the actual amount of time we spent there, it was fantastic :) I found it always clean and tidy and yes, the food court can be crazy at peak times, but aren't they all?! And of course, they need time after that to clean it up properly.

If decided on a All Star, remember that AS Sports is the first bus pick up and drop off...it usually doesn't call at the others most times either, so it's like it kinda has it's own transport ;)
