***the official may 2013 thread***

I've finally gotten everyone updated! It's been a little crazy around here. DS broke his thumb playing football, so it's been back and forth to the Dr's for surgery, xrays, etc. He's got his "battle wound" to show off now. He's doing really well with it!

With all of the wonderful choices for dining - does anyone else have trouble choosing where to go like me? What are your favorite places?

Made my ADRs this morning and got everything I wanted! All Character meals!!! I may change one but want to see how DD does at Rainforest (in Dec) to know if we should do it in place of Ohanas breakfast.

Always. Old favorites . New ones we want to try... Panicked adding of Akershus just for Belle...

I have finally booked all our ADR's. We are staying for 14 nights so we have a lot of restaurants to try. On our list we have only been to Sci-Fi and Rainforest Cafe before so I'm looking forward to trying lots of yummy things.
We are doing:
Tusker House - Breakfast
BOG - Dinner
Teppan Edo - Dinner
1900 PF - Dinner
Ohana - breakfast
T Rex - Dinner
H&V - lunch
Crystal Palace - Breakfast
CRT - Dinner
Chef Mickey's - dinner
Sci Fi - Lunch
Coral Reef - dinner

We are doing Seaworld, IOA and hopefully a day at the beach too so will have quite a few meals off site. And also LOTS of shopping.:dance3: Am hoping to go to Cheesecake Factory in Mall of Millenia. I have been to the one in Vegas and it was yum!

Add us in! Me and DBF will be there from May 10-15 or 16! It will be my 5th time and 1st solo trip without my family and his 1st time ever! We are so excited! We have BOG and Le Cellier booked so far and decided on Sci-Fi and Coral Reef, but haven't booked those yet! We're staying at POP!

I got all our ADR's we wanted, too (my 180 day was on the 6th). My TA was still without power so i told her i would do the ADRs to help her out b/c i had power back thankfully (after Sandy).

I was glad - it was exciting to be up at 6am getting them!! It made my day!

Today I booked our flights (jetblue) and was thrilled to get decent prices on decent times of day.

18th thru the 26th for us! OKW 2br villa welcoming us home for the first time. DD will be turning 22 while there and we are having a "drink around the world" at EPCOT (Hope I can handle it:crazy2:) This will be my 40th official trip .

Has anyone had any luck getting a breakfast CRT reservation for 5/14/2013 or later? I've called and tried online and all they can say is that it looks like they haven't opened yet for breakfast or lunch (though dinner is available). Just curious and partly worried since the phone operator mentioned they might be closed for a special event...

We are going 5/28-6/7, because we were told by some friends who frequently travel during this time that it is the best week to go! The kids in Florida do not get out of school until June 5th or 6th, so the Tuesday after Memorial Day will not be that busy. Of course, Disney is always busy, but you will not see crowds this week like you would if you waited until later in the summer. We had our choice between October and this week, and we chose this week! If you look at most crowd calendars, this week is lower crowd wise than any other in June. We are not worried, as last time we went in July - never again! Looking forward to the lower crowds! :) Good luck! EasyWDW.com and dadsguidetowdw.com have some good calendars to give you a better idea.

Thanks! Those are really helpful, and have made me even more excited about our trip!! :cool1:

Just watch out for the "Gay Days" crowds. They are pretty big and for some it's awkward for their young children. It's always 1st weekend in June.

Why would "gay days" be awkward for young children? You mean awkward for "some" adults! children will be too busy to notice anything other then the fact that their at Disney. It might be less crowded if everyone is thinking about how awkward it's going to be. Less crowded means a better time to go!

It is crazy for kids to see the gay days. We went on accident when I was a child and my dad was mad only bc the way some not all but some people were dressed and waiting in lines they were kissing and all over each other... No child needs to see that gay or straight!

I also hate when couples of any sexual orientation are all over another. Kissing or holding hands I don't care about but public groping is gross. But I am pretty sure that was the exception and not everyone waiting in lines were all over each other. Also I thought WDW did not let anyone in who is wearing something inappropriate or that would be offensive to someone else? Sorry you had a bad trip when you were little because of gay day.

Regardless of when I go I make the most of it.

Gay people attend WDW all the time, they just don't always wear something that shows it.*shrug*

Think of it like invisible ink. It's always there, nothings changed except that you see it. No biggie.

And, we all see things at Disney we don't like. Surf the boards. Inappropriate dress. Smoking. Ecv abuse. Tour groups. Obvious ignorance. Pda. Tour groups. It's expected with such a large gathering of people.

Try to tune out what bugs you, enjoy your trip.:)

A two year old probably won't notice but a 6 year old will ask questions. Do you really want to have that talk at the MK ?? It's up to the individual parent of course.Just letting the OP know because for SOME it would be a problem.Sorry if you disagree

I was just wondering.....if we are traveling to DW for the 12th to the 25th and want to make reservations on the 18th 21st 23rd etc

Do we need to call 180 days before each of those days to book it or can we book them all on the 180 days before the 18th?

Are you staying on property? I'f so, you can make them all, within ten days of your first day.

Off property, call every day
