This was another busy weekend. My daughter danced in her last dance recital yesterday and today. It was very beautiful and sad at the same time. We have spent the past 10 years watching her become a wonderful dancer and young lady.

Awww, I remember that day, two years ago about this same time my daughter performed her last one. She chose to do a duet with her sister for her senior recital.

Exactly! No one really gets it and they aren't as excited about it as you are. I get labeled the Disney freak, ha! So it's good to have each other to understand how we feel )

That's me too! Now my friends are all coming to me to help them plan things for their first trips - it's fun to help them out and I get a little rush with it too! No one really understands why we keep going back and how each trip can be different - but that will never dampen our Disney spirits!

How touching!! On the other hand, my DD3 is having her FIRST recital next weekend!!! I can't wait to see her up there on stage and showing off all that she has learned this year! She's so excited for her first real stage performance!

This is our last real week of school - we have field day, a picnic and a fair day all this week ... then students have to come in on Monday and I have to go in next Tuesday... and then finally - SUMMER!!!! Oh and my MB SHIPPED TODAY!!!! 29 Days to go!!!! Can't wait to check-in to the GF and enjoy all that the resort has to offer!!!

My own school finishes exams tomorrow; my husband's finishes Thursday.

My 3 kids are still in classes too, with final exams beginning this week.

New York State Regents exams begin this week... my son has 2 of the 3 hours exams on his birthday this Wednesday. (World History, then Algebra II & Trig. they're followed by Earth Science the next day.) My daughter has Algebra I this Friday.

(My husband and I both teach in Catholic Schools, and we don't do Regents.)

NY schools tend to go back just after Labor Day.

We never start school before Sept. 1st - so next year we start the Tuesday after Labor Day.
I just can't wait to focus on our July Disney trip - 1 week from tomorrow it will be Disney-all-day-every-day!!!!

I can't wait to check in to AKL. looking at pics. online has been a real obsession for me. DD too. She LOVES the pics. of giraffes walking around. She tells everyone that a giraffe will stick his head in the "window" and wake her up. Silly,silly girl. Do not be surprised when I come back on here and tell you all she named them. It's coming.

Totally off topic. This happened last summer. I am on the computer DD is in the kitchen coloring, (we have a sliding glass door there) I hear from DD "WELL, HELLO". dd opens the door and lets dog in. She is calling the dog Oscar. So, I am thinking she knows "Oscar" from the neighborhood. I give them a few minutes to play. This happened next:
"where does Oscar live?" She says, "I DONT KNOW".
back to me "how do you know his name is Oscar?" My beautiful daughter is LOVING on this dog..... says "I don't, I named him".

ME: "what, you don't know this dog and he is my house?" Why would you let it in".
She says "he was at the door"

42 more dayside for us. Even though I want Disney to come, I don't want to wish my summer away. This is the first day of summer vacation for us. Just want to enjoy for now.

We LOVE AKL! Our absolute favorite. We don't think anything can beat it. Can't wait to go back. She will love the animal viewing areas and they have fun activities to do to earn beads as you go around the resort, the kids love it.

We love AKL too! I remember getting back from MK one night and there was a giraffe right outside our balcony. We sat on the balcony and just watched for so long. Then we fell asleep with our giraffe (who we also named!)

They have always been out when we've been there and we usually arrive right around 7:45 when they start letting people in (usually make the ADR or BBB appt. for 8:40 so we have plenty of time for pics). Every time they have been on Main Street waiting.

My daughter had dance recital this weekend as well. It's her 8th year. We have 4 more years until that last recital before college and I'm so not ready for it to be that soon. On the plus side though, recital always seems to be the last weekend of Star Wars Weekends so we never get to go. After she's done with the last one we finally get to do that.

I teach music one day a week - but the nature of the job, especially in Catholic school, means I am there more often. Lol. Today I ran in for Kindergarten graduation rehearsal, will go back tonight to play for the actual graduation, have my last classes tomorrow, then play & sing for the final liturgy of the year on Friday.
