*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Hi :wave2:

Not sure how I missed y'all here. I've got a girls trip (2 moms & 2 DDs) coming up in July. We'll be staying @CR starting on July 4

17 days & cannot wait :)

We'll be at POR July 19th-25th....
33 days and counting! :rolleyes1:cool1:

:welcome: to our 2 newest mrembers, glad to have you on board, even if it is for a short time.

mom2 travel, how long will you be staying?

Storeyann, my family and I will be staying at the same resort during your entire stay as well.

Leaving in 16 days!!! Hasn't really hit me yet. We've been so busy with my sons baseball. Haven't had time to think about it too much!

We leave in 31 days, or a month from tomorrow, or 4 weeks from Friday!! Today was the first day of regents exams (NY state exams for high schools). 7 more work days/school wake-up mornings, and then I get to be the first one up in the house every morning and actually RELAX with a cup of coffee and read the DIS! :)

I also forgot to mention, we got the summer issue of Disney Files Magazine (a quarterly magazine for DVC members) a few days ago. There's a whole article in there about the new 7 dwarfs mine train. I love getting mail from Disney, especially when it's the actual season I'm going to WDW!

I'm hoping I don't get the usual Disney blues after this trip. We always go to WDW every other year and as much as I enjoy our vacations on our "off" years, there's just something so special about WDW. But this time, we are planning our first ever trip to Southern California for next July, complete with a few days at Disneyland during the 60th anniversary of the original Disney theme park! So like I said, hopefully that will curb some of those post Disney blues.

Trying to decide what to do... Disney has published some changes to the July calendar - now on July 16th Animal Kingdom is opening normal time at 8am... with morning EMH at 7AM!! :scared: We were planning to take advantage of the EMH that day... but a 7am start? That will be a very early morning! We have a resort afternoon/evening that day so I think that'd we be able to manage it... but getting on a bus by 6:15am that day? I wasn't prepared for that!!! Anyone else in the same boat? :confused3

I would abandon EMH at that point. That said, I fall into the category of people who avoid Morning EMH like the plague, but will happily hang out in the MK at 230am. 615 is way way way too early to be up and ready on vacation!

You are right! We are doing it, but only once where we need to be up and moving at 6:15. I just said, this is really going to mess up some early ADR's, its a pain to plan and this happen. All the other days are evening hours. Good Luck!

We did AK 7:00am EMH over Thanksgiving week a couple of times. It was early but we had about 21/2 hours in the park with almost nobody else there. Walked on all the headliners during one of the busiest weeks of the year. It was one of my favorite AK days we've had. We will be at WDW on the 16th......it's tempting but I promised my family we would take it easy this trip. :)

We do not do morning EMH because it is too hard to get my crew moving in the morning. I have been looking at wait times for the past couple of weeks on the same days of the week that we will be going to the parks. On June 9th AK had morning EMH at 8:00am and at 9:45 the waits did not seem too long to me. KS was 25 mins., EE, KRR, and Dinosaur were all 10 mins., and Triceratop Spin was 5 mins. Tomorrow AK has a 7:00am morning EMH. You could check the wait times during the morning tomorrow and see how they look to you.

If they are still low at 10:00am then you will probably be all right if you do not arrive at 7:00am but get there around 8:00am. EasyWDW says that you should have success until 10:00am but that the afternoon will be busier than other days that week. Since you are planning to spend the afternoon at your resort you will probably be okay.

Just found this thread! We leave in 6 days. June 23rd to July 5th. We are staying at POP, FW campground then at POR-Royal Room.

Can't wait! My kids are counting down the days. Now I just need to get packing and finish all our custom shirts!

I leave in 10 days and had my touring plans all set and then for 6/29 they change EMH from evening to morning and now my plans are totally messed up.

Thanks DisneyMomFanatic. I can't believe it's getting so close, the last few weeks feel like they are flying by!

Three weeks from now we will be exhausted from our 5am flight and a full day at MK:banana:. Three weeks and a few minutes from now I am hoping the bed at POR royal room is comfy:wizard:

And I just noticed...we are about the same age and have kids about the same age as well! How long are you at POR? DH and I will both be 37 this year. DS is 7 (will be 8 this year) and DD turned 3 in May.
