*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Hello July Friends!
This might be a "dumb" question, but these are the things that go through my head as I'm trying to fall asleep 2 weeks before our trip...you know, all the last minute what ifs. Since the addition of Memory Maker, they still have regular Photopass, right? If you don't purchase MM, can you still get a PP card and do regular PP? Would it still be the card, or does it link to your Magic Band somehow? We were JUST there last June and there have been SO MANY changes since then. I feel like a newbie all over again, ha!!

Thanks!! Happy Birthday, America pixiedust:

Yes, there are still regular Photopass cards you can get from a photographer in the parks.

As far as linking them to your magic band, I am not sure shout that part.

We did not purchase MM on our May trip - Photopass photographers just scanned my band, DH's band or DD3's band and all pictures were viewable under my MDE account. We could then go through them and select which ones we wanted and edit as needed. We did not have a card in May - they just used our bands! It was super easy! :thumbsup2

We did purchase MM for this trip as it is 9 days long and we know we will get lots of family shots that we will want! :yay:

Super!! Thanks so much!!

Safe travels to the latest group leaving today and tomorrow! I hope everybody comes back with pictures, weather reports and crowd updates. Hope you all receive an extra dose of magic!

Thanks for the kind words after my frustrating day on Thursday. My emotional breakdown seemed like nothing after the events of Thursday night. I kid you not, there was a serial killer on the loose in our area. There were literally helicopters overhead and we could hear high speed chases from the house. Insane. We don't own a gun, so DH slept with a baseball bat by the side of the bed. Luckily, they caught the guy late yesterday morning. Such high drama for our little town!

I was so happy when it was all over that I impulsively bought a Disney CD at Sam's Club. Such a silly little thing, but it really brought out the kid in me. I may or may not have listened and danced to it in the car all by myself. Hopefully nobody saw me.

Had a fun day so far! Woke up super early (not fun but worth it), got to the entry line at Hollywood studios at about 720. We were let in at 745. Went towards frozen and they stopped everyone by the stage and had a little ceremony thing, then made it "snow", then, rushed to the ice skating to find it didn't open until regular park opening at 9am. Waited anyway. Got let in around 903am and waited again until the first ice skating session at 930. After that I went around collecting magic shots from the photopass people, and then spent a fair deal of time attempting to exit a very crowded park full of frozen fans. Got to AK at like noon, had lunch at Yak and Yeti CS and now I am back at the resort cooling off until early dinner at Boma then Harambe Nights tonight!

:scared1::scared1::scared1: So glad you're all ok!!

Me too!! I've been watching a lot of the reviews and footage from today. I'm hoping when we go it'll be in between the first few weeks' of attention and the August/Sept people that hurried up and booked a quick trip at the last minute when this was announced :thumbsup2

Wow! With all that happening, I don't blame you for buying the CD. Thank God you all are safe. :thumbsup2

Hello everyone! Yesterday's BBQ was a lot of fun despite the rain. But then today wasn't so good...I woke up early this morning with a stomach virus. I hate these things, so annoying. I feel better than I did this morning though. DH ordered Chinese food for him and the boys so he ordered me chicken rice soup. I was supposed to go to afternoon tea with my mother and my sister today at the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, but of course we postponed. It was my sister's Mother's Day gift to me and to my mom. Tomorrow DH and I are going to see Rocky the musical on Broadway. It was his birthday gift to me last month. We're still gonna go because I'm already doing better, but I don't think it will be a good idea for me to go out to dinner after the show. :(

We leave in 13 days and things are in order in the house. I just have to tackle the bedroom closet and then everything will be done, and I will just have to maintain it which is much easier now that I'm home for the summer. It's time for us to begin watching videos of our past trips, we always watch National Lampoon's Vacation before we go, and also some Disney movies to psyche us up! ;)

Just watched a video of the Frozen Fireworks and I think my daughter is really going to like them. Can't wait to see it!
