Yay, planning for solo trip Jan 6-9. I don't know anyone else who likes Disney, so I am posting here to celebrate :) Now I can start planning for my meal reservations :)

8:46am. Dining reservations are made. Heh heh heh heh. The trip is shaping up :) Now I can gloat for the next 5 months ;)

So very excited, still have 160 days to go but I did the PhotoPass pre-purchase. I want to have great pictures of my boyfriend and me.

Not sure if you are all in the FB group but I wanted to know if anyone wants to join a photo pass share for mid to late January?

I would like to keep the travel dates window on the shorter side to expedite the post-trip editing process.

PM me or reply to my post on the group page if you're interested!
:thumbsup2

My husband and I are going with my parents January 25th thru February 2nd.
It'll be my Mom's first time. My dad has been before, but it was awhile ago.

We are not officially booked yet, but we did just reserve a rental car! :rotfl:

I just got back from Disney a week ago, stayed at Art of Animation with two friends. I loved it there, and my mom and I have been talking about taking my brother for the first time. He is 18 years old, but has several developmental disabilities, which has made us hesitant to take him in the past. However, January 5th will be his 19th birthday, and he's "grown up" and matured a lot in the last 8 months!

Our plan is to go January 6-10. Crowds will be low, and it won't be hot. Both are great things for a traveler with any sort of disability.:thumbsup2 We will be staying at AoA again because I thought the suite was great for three people who don't want to share beds. We are giving my brother (Ian) the choice of Lion King or Cars. We plan to book with a cast member discount (probably through my best friend, since I will more than likely not have met my seasonal hour requirements) and Finding Nemo isn't a specific booking category with that discount.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you! And I LOVE answering questions about Disney, since I worked there for eight months and have traveled there numerous other times for vacations!

Hey!! I'll be at AoA January 7-14, in a LM room, for my 20th birthday! :)I'm sure the marathon may bring in a little more crowds but probably not until you leave. Getting a suite sounds like a good idea! :thumbsup2 It's my dream to work at Disney!!!

Hi Katie, nice to "meet" you! We would love to stay in Little Mermaid, but I think regular value rooms are too cramped with more than 2 people-and there's no discount for them. :sad1: I think we'll just miss most of the marathon crowds, and definitely the actual running! You should definitely try to do the Disney College Program. It was literally the best decision I've ever made. Feel free to PM me with other questions!

PS-I was in Disney for my 21st birthday, and it truly is a magical experience!

OK so after all the figuring we are staying at A0A in the LM rooms for one night vs. leaving WDW early and driving up 4hrs to sleep.

It will actually be cheaper for us to stay one more night than stay somewhere else. :yay: I am excited. This trip is all about "new" stuff for DH and I. Even though we are celebrating a birthday, we wanted to make it fun for DH & I. New resorts and new restaurants. :cheer2:

Now hoping the weather cooperates.

I can't wait to learn more how Magic+ will work with our ADRs.

What do you mean?

Since we have so many ADRs, I don't know how scheduling FP+ through Magic+ will work? Will they work your FP+ times around your ADRs or will you have to pick your FP+ for a certain time of day, i.e. Morning, Afternoon or Evening? I am hoping that we can pick our FP+ time like we do for ADRs.

The Marathon is the 8th-12th.
The crowds will not be low.
Not as busy as peak season but not as low as the end of January.

Weather is perfect though :thumbsup2

Right now touringplans.com is stating crowd levels to be in the 1-3 range for the most part. We will be gone before the marathon and half marathon, and probably won't be visiting a park during the 10K. The 5K is at Epcot, and we'll be at DHS that day. Maybe crowds won't be "low" but definitely manageable.

Haven't read through the entire thread (I did try and search for this, though!) so forgive me if it's already been discussed.

How is the weather in January? I'm seeing forecasts for 70s and possible 50s... that's a big range for FL/humidity.

I'm specifically wondering if any of yous who live up in the North have been able to enjoy the pool - maybe not swimming, but at least laying out. I have a fantasy of escaping the snow this trip with a nice margarita laying out on a chaise by the pool...

Two days last January I escaped to the pool for a Mai tai! The whole week was in the 80's and no rain! I know we were spoiled, but ANYTHING is better than January in New Jersey!!! Lol

We go every January. Last few years has been low 70's early-mid morning to mid 80's in the afternoon. Always have been able to swim and lay by the pool. Perfect temps
