**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

Okay, so I called last night and got our reservation straight, I had been going back and forth over what to do, but have decided. We have a room only at Pop for Jan 6, since we won't arrive until after midnight, but want a place to sleep, then our package starts on Jan 7th thru 14th, standard room at Pop with Deluxe Dining and we will purchase the Military tickets.

My 20 year old (my cousin, more like a daughter) wasn't happy with me, but I told her maybe we would look at taking a girls only trip later in the year. I never got to take the one I booked with my mom, because she passed away 5 days before. DH won't be happy if I book a girls only trip, but I don't care.

Hi all!

I'm pretty sure I can join you for January 2012 planning as my husband gave the go-ahead this weekend. That may change depending on if our friends can go with us or not but I might as well start planning, right?

Anyways, I'm struggling with dates. Can you guys give me the pros and cons of the dates listed below?

January 7-12, 2012:
January 14-19, 2012:
January 21-26, 2012:

Also, my daughter will be 4.5 at the time of our next trip (2012). Since we just went this year (2011) and if we go again in 2012, we won't go for quite a while, probably around 3 years (so she would be around 8 years old). So would you take your husband up on this trip in 2012 (he was HARD to convince and didn't think he wanted to go back for years) or would you wait another year until 2013 when daughter will be 5.5 and Fantasyland should be mostly completed?

Decisions, decisions!

I would skip the week 14-19 MLK day and it is supposed to be crowed your other dates are good.

I saw on the SW website that the rest of January 2012 will be posted on July 25th. That seems to be my Magic day since that is my ADR day too-I guess I'll be busy busy!

We're waiting on this too! Them and Air Tran, hopefully Air Tran will still have one way from Indy to MCO, otherwise we'll be using SW.

I am a touring plans fan but haven't actually used their suggested touring plans persay...but as reference. I really appreciate the crowd calendar and crowd tracker...the thing I love the most is the LINES App...that is the best I was there w/ friends this yr jan and we did reference the app multiple times not as many say as I did during T-giving week last yr w/ my family but still a great tool!

no sadly we'll be back in the dreary Chicago winter...though if I could add another night and fares aren't bad to fly home on Friday vs Thurs...you never know...

I joined Touring Plans last year and just renewed my subscription for this year too. I actually don't follow the plans either, but I do take a look at them to get an idea but then adjust for the rides that we want to do. Also, with 2 small kids, we don't run all around the park getting FPs like we used to. We tend to do one land at a time, and just sneak away when we can to pick up FPs.

However, I love the wait time apps, too and even check them out when I'm here in VA.

Julie -- what's your screen name on Lines? I'm "marshay" just like on DIS.

And yes, you just got to add another day!!!I'm sure you can think of something to do!!!

Marshay- OKW is BEAUTIFUL! We stayed there in February and loved everything about it! We were very lucky to get the elevator building, 3rd floor 2 bedroom villa with amazing views of Epcot fireworks. I have tons of resort pics if you want to see any! Do you have kids? Ours loved the pool area, and all the fun games they played. The community hall is really cute! Rooms are HUGE! We are headed to AKV January 21st so maybe we can all plan a dis meet up!!!

Your room sounds wonderful!! I'd love to see pics!

I have 2 kids -- an almost 6yo and a 2 yo..both girls. So having the extra room will be great.

Thanks for the heads up, my DH has been looking on SW and AirTran's websites for our dates and nothing has opened up yet. I will have to let him know he has a bit longer to wait. He just wants to buy the airfare and get that part out of the way.

does anyone know if the mini golf places are usually closed for rehab in Jan at all? in particular Fantasia Gardens our kids have been wanting to do mini golf for the past 3 trips and it has yet to work out...I figured Jan would be the time to do and we have it very well planned into one of our days...but we really want to do FG vs WinterSummerland...

I was looking on the rehab/refurb listings on the main wdwinfo page and notice Fantasia gardens was listed there under golf courses but w/ no info...

just curious and a bit worried now could it be a place holder because it does go down for rehab seasonally?

We fly out of Chicago and I think he likes to fly out of Midway instead of Ohare, SW is out of Midway. Maybe I will check some other airlines to see who uses Midway. Any favorite airlines you like to fly with?

Yep, we'd much rather fly out of Midway than O'hare (we live closer to Midway and it is just easier to get in and out of). Airtran is out of Midway and offers some great deals...other airlines that fly out of there are Continental, Delta, Frontier, and Northwestern however we have never flown these other airlines so don't know too much about them. I second this!! I have stayed at OKW at least 14 times, it was my grandparent's DVC home resort in the 90's/00's. I love it!

Just found out today that we are taking our January trip!! We will be staying Jan 21-28th at OKW in a 2br villa. I can't wait.
I'm a long-time lurker or DIS and I can't wait to yap about my trip to people who actually enjoy listening.

It will be 7 of us for the whole trip maybe 8 for a few nights. My grandparents, my parents, my sister, my 2-year old (then 3) daughter and I. My fiance will be joining us for 3 or 4 nights if he can get off work. I would hate for him to miss our little girl's first Disney trip, but then again he think I'm a Disney-crazed nut and might get sick of me!

We usually go in January and the FG course is never closed. That's the one we always go to because we can walk there from BW where we stay. Have a great trip!!

180 days from today and we will be in WDW!! I just got home from work (midnights ) and while I was there I made my ADRS!!! I love my bosses!!

Here is the line up:

Jan 6th: Chef Mickeys at 5:40 PM
Jan 7th: Via Napoli at 5:45 PM
Jan 8th: O'hana at 7:45 AM
The Plaza at 4:50 PM
Jan 9th: Le Cellier at 1:00 PM
Jan 10th: Sci-Fi at 1:10 PM

We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and will be having our other meals there in our condo. DD 11 loves Stitch so breakfast at O'hana is a surprise for her! I'm not too sure about Chef Mickey's we will be meeting them at O'hana so we won't need to eat there....maybe we will do lunch in the park at counter service and dinner back in the room....something to think about!

Yay! We've been close to HH on some trips and not on others. It's never been a problem for us to be on the other end.
