**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

just bumping my question if anyone has any thoughts...TIA :goodvibes

I really like your plans sound great getting to each park plus plenty of rest time :thumbsup2

for your TS Q...have eaten at LT but not the Plaza...we had a bit of a wait at LT, but thought the service was wonderful and really enjoyed the food! :goodvibes

also I see that you have stayed at BLT (we are DVC members there) and were debating staying at BCV or BWV for a 2013 trip...but were a bit nervous on the buses to the other parks...how would you rate it in comparison to BLT service [/COLOR]

Thanks for your thoughts on our plan and LT, we might have to check it out. The menu looks really good to me.

As for the buses, they are were pretty timely at BLT, but you know that... as far as the BWV the bus stop is quite a hike. It's on the other side of the resort, next to the Inn. I don't remember it being a very long wait for any of the buses, maybe 1x or 2x it took awhile, but nothing consistent. Nice thing is that you really only need to worry about buses for MK, AK, and DTD!
I don't know about BCV, this will only be our first trip there, but I'm very excited about it! I'll have to let you know when we get back.

It's been some time, but when we stayed at BWI, I remember walking to the Fantasia Garden mini golf and playing. It had to have been in January,bc we've been going at that same time for years. Of course it has been some time, and WDW could have very well changed up their refurbishment schedule. I hope it works out and you get to play!

CRT has opened up, at least for Jan 7th breakfast. :yay:

ETA: Ugh. Realized that I completely forgot that the 7th is half marathon day. So rescheduled CRT for Friday the 13th. I figure the Friday before MLK is better than half marathon day when dealing with early morning transportation so hopefully I made the right choice.

Here is what I have as far as ADRs are concerned

Jan 7th: MK
Sci Fi 11:00am then over to MK
Hoop de Doo 6:15pm

Jan 8th: DHS
Cape May Cafe 8:00 am
Le Cellier 6:15pm

Jan 9th: AK
Tusker House 8:05am
Biergarten 5:00pm

Jan 10th:
Nothing is open that I want here
Akershus
Beaches and Cream- Lunch-no ADR needed
House of Blues

Jan 11th:
1900 Park Fare 8:15am
Garden Grill 5:45pm

Jan 12th: MK
Chef Mickey's 8:15am
Either Yachtsman 5:15pm or Rose & Crown 7:50pm

Jan 13th Epcot
Kouzzina 8:20am
Either Yachtsman 5:50pm or Rose & Crwon 7:50pm

Jan 14th: MK
Crystal Palace 8:30am
We will have to get lunch somewhere because we will be heading home this evening.

I wonder if The Plaza hasn't been added for Lunch yet, because the only time I can find the whole week is 3pm and that is the first dinner ADR.

I am going to see if I can find some backup ADR's for Jan 10th, in case I can't get Akershus. Anybody have any suggestions?

I don't know which parks we are going to do on what day for most days, but we will be doing alot of hopping to Epcot for dinner. But, this trip isn't really focused on the parks, more on ourselves and dining experiences.

I'm in the process of finalizing everything to book my family's first trip to Disney 1/29/12 - 2/4/12. My twin sons will be celebrating their 7th birthday at Disney while we are there. Can't wait to actually book the trip so it will be more real for me. Kids will be surprised on our way to the airport!!!

thanks for the feedback :goodvibes we'd rail it over to TTC and catch the buses to AK and DHS when we stayed at BLT in Nov and worked out well...I get mixed reviews on the buses from BWV and BCV so nice to hear a semi positive one :thumbsup2 really like to try out several of the DVC resorts...

We are doing the same thing...we plan to leave Christmas morning! I am planning an advent calendar reveal. I little something each day that does not scream WDW and USO...little clues. I will post my idea as I get it all pulled together! Along with the item will be a task for the kids to complete as well as a clue were to find the item. I am so excited!

Haven't completely thought it through but I was thinking of preparing some sort of invitation to give them and say this is how we are going to celebrate your birthday this year. Probably give it to them in the car - when they ask a million times where we are going.

Any suggestions???

:woohoo::yay:

Hmm, well I've read of people saying they're doing a solo trip somewhere and then when they get to the airport they open up the trunk to reveal everyone's luggage already packed and ready for Disney!

A family friend of mine told her kids they were flying to visit family, and then told them at the gate that the family was Mickey.

I like your idea of telling them in the car. I think I would get a tiny stuffed Mickey (or their favorite Disney character) and wrap them up and let them open it on the way.

When I found out we are going in January my little sister was out of town.. I went on Google images and looked up more obscure WDW images (obscure to a 14-year old who's not as obsessed w/WDW as me) and sent them to her saying guess where we're going?!
I sent her a picture of OKW across the lake, the inside of Beaches & Cream, the inside of the Japan store and one more that I can't remember before she finally figured it out. She said it was fun. :)

January 8 - 14, 2012, first time staying at Animal Kingdom - Kidani Villas!

Were officially going January 7th -15th!! Staying at POR ,unless a GREAT room deal comes out, then possibly AKL or poly!

Well, I think my trip is doomed now. I have our first night room only booked and paid for, I have the perfect package and all of my dining reservations booked, and Dh's car decided to crap out beyond repair. I am going to hold onto everything until the last minute and hope for a miracle.

That stinks! :( :( Sending hugs your way, and hopefully things will turn around

We are going in January too! January 14-21 followed by a cruise on the magic. We will be staying at ASMusic family suites but I am hoping for 40% off discount so we can switch to a deluxe. This will be my familys 3rd trip, it will be a surprise Christmas gift for the kids, DS7, DS5, DS4 and DD2. I can't wait!

Flights are now booked!!! Arrived around 7:30pm Friday night and depart at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon. Everything is coming together!

If anyone was waiting on Airtran to release their Jan schedules to book their flights, they have opened flights Jan 7th-Jan 20th. I'm not sure why they only released 2 weeks, but it might help someone out there!
