The Official... "I Give Up!" Thread

I officially gave up today... We went ahead and booked our trip thru AAA---even a small discount is better than none I guess.... And we're paying for the DDP.

Hehehehe...so did I!! (Well, I didn't give up, but I could just see me holding out, then finally calling and having everything booked!) I didn't go for the DDP though...I'm way too cheap!

You know what though? It's going to be an amazing trip!! I really don't think any of us are losers at all!

Does anyone else want to join us? I had a feeling that something was going to be released yesterday because the Disneyworld site was down. I am officially throwing the towel in! Disney's gift to those of us who have to go in the beginning of August is an earlier value season! The "special" (if you want to call it that) ends August 26th. Just in time for free dining.

Okay. I feel better now. Just breathe. I am at the four month mark. We will do the P&P party August 11th. Disney does not have to offer anything.

That's how I'm feeling, since we were planning to go August 11-25. There are just too many sources quoting the August 26 start date.

I gotta say, too, the summer "special" was a real disappointment. Value season rack rates instead of regular? Puh-lease. If they don't come out with something better than that, we'll be skipping WDW this summer and spending our vacation $$$ somewhere else. We're willing to brave the heat and the hurricanes, but only for a good deal.

My last hope is that they'll end up offering another deal later this spring or summer. But if enough people booked through UK free DDP/bounceback free DDP and to take advantage of earlier value season dates, I wouldn't expect anything too significant. Still hoping for a little pixie dust, though.

Add me to the list of people that Disney is forgetting. We are going at the end of September and we are paying rack rate at the moment. It's only two of us so I'm considering paying for DDP but still not sure. I'll probably just make a couple of table service ADR's and eat counter service the rest of the time. I'm trying to stay positive but it's awfully hard when I keep reading the rumors and nothing has been released yet. I'm still very happy to be spending my bday at Disney during the year of a million dreams, unfortunately my dreams haven't come true yet. Let's hope that Disney doesn't forget about those not able to go during the "rumored ddp dates" and gives the rest of us some type of special.

After all of the emails this morning regarding Disney Visa starting to book on Monday, I'm feeling like it's time for the "pooh size lady" to sing. Because it's not over until she does. Time to move on to plan B. Hopefully some of you will be able to change your dates, but know lots of us won't. I will still be reading all of the threads because I love seeing how this plays out for everyone, even if I'm not one of them. Disney won't be getting my money because we'll be using DVC points instead.

Well were booked for july with no sort of discount, no ddp either since were staying at shades, but its like looking at a car wreck, you cant help but look when it comes along. Even tried figuring out how to make it work labor day week 'if/when' but really, for us, its just better to stick to our original script. Best of luck to all the lucky ones!

8/17 to 8/24- plane is booked---no DDP
but we will still be in disney

Thank you so much. Just booked a second shorter trip for September to take advantage of the free dining and MNSSHP. I'm going to have to get a second job over the summer to pay for all this, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

I think Disney is going to past us by. we are going aug 13~24. They already gave the bounceback and UK great deals. the AP holders would be lucky to get anything.
We are going, I using AAA discounts and buying my tickets seperate. We aren't buying DDP.

I booked at AAA discount, room only, as well. Still crossing fingers for AP discount at the value resorts -- we are already downgrading the girls from overnight dance camp to the day dance camp. I am just finishing RN school, my family desperately needs to regroup with a getaway.

Okay, I'm going in August and I have a very bad feeling that the rumors will be true and I will not get free dining. I got the 40% off code, but the dates were not valid for summer months. I am going August 5-12th.

Let's face it. Disney does not wait until the last minute to see if resorts are booking. The Contemporary is completely sold out!

So, here's to us that have no luck or are paying rack rate!

I believe the Contemp is already sold out because half of it is closed for refurb - thought I read last week that the north wing is closed while they are working on it......

I am sad because we were there in Dec and when they offered the Bounce Back Program we started to book but had questions and then we had some problems and we didnt get in in time....oh well, there is always next year!!!!

Well...I thinking....If I remember rightly I believe that when this offer was available to UK Visitors you had to also purchase park tickets for the whole duration and the room rate was higher than the US website...I may be wrong....I
