The Official GLEE thread

Hi everyone. I *just* started watching Glee a little over a month ago. I'd heard of it through the grapevine but didn't know much about it. Then I spent Thanksgiving weekend with my boyfriend and his family, and his mother and sister talked me into watching an episode with them. I didn't really want to get into another tv show, but I'm intrigued now. I'm a singer myself and sang in choir in high school and college. (And being a theater major, I get a huge kick out of the Broadway references.) I have a lot to catch up on though as I only just caught the end of the season and a few earlier eps in reruns. I'm not a total Gleek at this point- just starting to get interested, but I definitely plan to catch more.

Welcome to the club! I'm familliar with your posts and your theatre experiences. You are going to love Glee! Try to watch the entire season on DVD and you'll be caught up when April rolls around.:goodvibes

I'm sure you'll become a total Gleek soon enough ;)

By the way, I love your signature picture. Susan Egan is one of my very favorite Broadway actresses, she has the most amazing voice. I would have loved to have been able to see her in Beauty and the Beast.

I've been watching the re-runs.
Is it sad that I asked DH to get me the DVDs for Valentines Day? LOL

Warning about the DVDs. They are not the full season, only the first 13 episodes. Fox is rumored to be coming out with a full set in April that will include the first 13 episodes, forcing purchasers to shell out more money for something they already have.

Of course it's not the full season, as they have only aired 13 episodes. They cannot release the full season in April, as they will just be coming back on the air in April, so they will not have the full season finished then either.

Whatever. The point is just a warning that if you purchase the DVD set now, you may end up getting fleeced for a second DVD set that will contain duplicate episodes. It's just evidence of greed on Fox's part and taking advantage of a very popular series and customer ignorance. Buyer beware.

Thanks! I was just about to order this DVD. Totally forgot that this was just the first part of the season. Thanks for saving me some money!:thumbsup2

Thank you. :) Though it makes perfect sense, I never even considered that aspect of it.

I think I'll wait a few months and get the entire first season. :goodvibes

Keep in mind you will be waiting more than a few months, as it won't return in April, probably to finish in June. The DVD will probably be released in August or September, that is when most TV seasons come out.

I figured that $24.99 was cheap enough, and that I wanted to rewatch it all now, and share it with my dd who hadn't had a chance to watch any of them.

I can wait. :) Until then, there's always hulu. ;)

And if the DVD coming out in late summer is going to be overlap, I don't want to have double the DVD's, when I only need one.

Thanks for the info.
I can wait too. Till then I have a few episodes DVRed. :)

Way to go Glee, best comedy/musical series at the Golden Globes!!!!! But Jane Lynch was robbed!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Anyone watching Oprah right now...GREAT! The audience is going nuts. It's like the Beatles (well maybe not quite!) It is really enjoyable to see the cast speaking as themselves. Can't wait until next week :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Oprah's not on here for another half an hour. :)

I just finished watching Oprah on my DVR and WOW Matt Morrison can dance. I loved seeing some of the behind the scenes stuff.

Less than one week away.
