The Official GLEE thread

I don't get how they portray the teachers as unrealistic...:confused3

I am a high school choir teacher and I love Glee. I have already purchased a couple of the arrangements for my choir (Don't Stop Believin' and Somebody to love.) This show has also inspired my students to start their own show choir and has helped many students find their "voice."
:goodvibes

The way that Will and Sue deal with their principal is TOTALLY unrealistic! The way he makes snap decisions about Cheerios and Glee club...and sits behind that desk like he has nothing to deal with except those two. It is also not that easy for the principal to just say "You're suspended!"

You can not SLEEP at the school that you work at if you are a teacher.

The way Will and Sue talk to each other in the hall in front of the students...you can't do that.

Sue would have been fired LOOOONG ago for the way she treats students.

Will would have been in major trouble for gyrating around his students singing "Busta Move."

I could name about 10 things per episode that wouldn't fly in real life if you are employed by a school distrcit. There are LOTS of little things that the teacher's say and do that would really be a "no no" in real life.

I can see all that and agree with you. I guess I just look beyond it and see a teacher that is passionate about his students and who believes in them. :goodvibes

I absolutely adore the show and am sad that I have to wait until April for more.

Suspension of disbelief?

I do get what your saying. When I worked in television I would get hopping mad when I would see things portrayed in the movies and on tv about the industry that were so unbelievably not how it happens.

Anyone see the relationship building between Brittany and Santana?

Glee is nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical). It's up against 30 Rock, Modern Family, Entourage and The Office. I dont think it will win but it's pretty cool that it got the recognition!

Any Glee gift ideas? I have a glee freak daughter and am thinking on stocking stuffers- I know cd. But what else?

So glad for all of the recognition Glee got in the Golden Globe nominations. Matthew Morrison, Lea Michelle, and Jane Lynch are all nominated too.

I didn't. I saw that it was "spoiler" but I didn't notice it at all...I also have no idea who Santana is :confused3

Can you pre-order the DVD? Or buy a gift card to Target or Best Buy in the amount that she'd need for it? 'Cause Santa knows that kind of stuff :snooty:

I don't think the Britney/Santana thing will go anywhere.

I don't know who Santana is :lmao:, but I thought I had read in this thread that Brittany wasn't coming back in the spring.

That's what I told me DH to get me from our kids, a gift card to Target so I can run and buy the DVD at 8 am on the 29th LOL!

same here! We have purchased the cd's already and we already are getting the dvd. I went online to see if anyone had glee merchandise and was actually brought to ebay. Try there. I am getting a set of buttons/pins for her corkboard and maybe a t-shirt. There was a site online but the prices were outrageous! $30 for a t-shirt? No thank you..on ebay they were alot more reasonable.

While waiting for guests at a dinner last night (I arrived early to hold the table)--I was going through my sprint phone. I have sprint tv and they had some glee clips. Well I thought they were glee clips.

Turns out they were behind the scenes interviews with the cast of the show. I only watched 2 or 3 of them. But it was pretty neat.

No idea how you can get these clips if you don't have Sprint. But for those who do--check them out.

One clip I did not get to was how they cast Mercedes.
