The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I think it was one of the other girls throwing up, not Lane. The girl throwing up had white pants on and I think Lane was wearing jeans, right?

Also, I don't think Lane is pregnant. Wasn't she going to wait until her wedding night to have sex for the first time? I thought she said that on a date with Zack in an episode last season. I think AS-P just wanted to throw a wedding in there for a good storyline.

I'm still thinking about Lorelai's toast! It was such a good scene...well-written and really well acted. I feel so bad for Lorelai!

thats what I thought :thumbsup2

I just watched last weeks episode today.
My thoughts....
-It was not Lane throwing up, I rewound it 3 times, it was another girl.

-I laughed out loud when Mrs. Kim was having the 'talk' with Lane and said to her, "You are going to have to DO IT." "You have to do it." "Maybe only once if you are lucky like I was" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

-Lors speech. Very very painful. Torturous actually. Ugh. Hated it. Made her seem so desperate, lonely and pathetic. :sad2:

Thanks for checking that 3 times!!!

I love mrs kim..... she is SOOOO funny :lmao:

and Yikes Lor!!!

I was so scared that Lor and Chris were gonna get a drunk and get stupid. Thank god Chris kept a level head. I felt sooooo bad for Lor. I hope Luke hears about all this and realizes how he is making her feel.

I was happy when he was on the chair and not in the bed too. I am starting to like the christopher character, although I still don't want them to get back together, he really loves her.

So Lor has two choices, end up with Luke and have a 12 year old step-daughter, or end up with Christopher and have a 4 year old step-daughter......hmmmmmm.......

Funny how that works out. Wonder why the writers didn't make April a boy. You know, a boy to go fishing with, etc...
So that Lor would get more jealous because of the relationship Rory and Luke have? What are your thoughts on this?

Oh, hey, good point! I didn't think of that myself, but I did notice that Gilmore Girls sure is infested with girls: G.G. & April & Anna. And I was wondering why they made April all prodigical-intelligent like Rory. Anna is a single mom with a smart daughter like Lorelai was with Rory. Luke might feel badly for Anna b/c he saw what Lorelai went through, and then pick Anna. Although Anna seems older than Lorelai so it wasn't like she was a kid raising a kid and I doubt they'd write in that he goes for Anna. Just wondering why there wasn't more variety in the type of kid they chose for Luke. Lorelai makes some comment about how April is smart like Rory in a past episode (the one she finds out he has a kid), so we know the writers didn't do it on accident.

Come to think of it...why did ASP & her hubby write in that Luke has a kid anyway? I think they could have made a spin on their storylines in some other way. I'm kind of regretful that they wrote this April character in, but at the same time, I'm dying to see where it goes!

(But without Amy and Dan returning next year to write, is it doomed?)

I think they wrote April in because they didn't want just a happy ever after with Luke and Lorelei...they had to throw in some trauma to see keep the relationship a big question. I for one don't like the way writters are taking this. Lorelei is this independent woman and here she can't even talk to Luke about how she is feeling. They've always seem to be honest with each other when they weren't in a relationship but now they can't. Shame. I think they could have come up with a better way to do this...

Anyway I have a question...the rocker in Zack's band is Sebasian Bach. I saw him on cribs last night but I couldn't tell what band he played for. He was just as nuts at home as he is on the show. He cracked me up.

HC

Sebastian Bach was the lead singer for Skid Row and was one of my crushes my senior year in high school. He is now part of a "super group" called Damnocracy with Ted Nugent, Scott Ian and others.

I am kind of ready for this season to be over. I wish they would either end the Luke and Lorelai thing or move on with it. I am still upset he wasn't at Lane's wedding.

Thanks for answering Sthronds...I saw Skid Row stuff all over his house but he kept talking about Kiss so I couldn't tell what band he was in. He was very fun and his house was a "home" not really a show place per se.

I agree about the year being over for GG but I have to say I kind of dread new writers coming in for the final season.

As long as Rory goes back to being scholastic Rory whose life isn't dominated by boys, and Lorelai is no long a push-over and the "Gilmorisms" are popped in every once in a while, I don't mind a new writer taking over. Heck, he CAN'T screw up the storyline as bad as giving Luke a daughter!

normally I might agree with you but with all of the crappy tv these days Yes, I do believe it can get worse!

Can't wait for tonight! Everyone got their Tivo's set?

Ok, so who watched last night's episode? I loved that Luke finally explained why he didn't want April and Lorelai to meet. I thought it was hysterical when he compared her to a cartoon character.

Anyone else get the feeling that Anna Nardini might like to get back together with Luke and that's why she's so dead set against Lorelai being involved with April? I think it was her whole comment about being around when Luke opened the diner that made me think that.

I also loved when Paris bullied the drs into giving her info about Logan. :teeth: And Rory's phone call to Mitchum.

I saw it, and I'm over Luke and I'm over this new chickie (the mom) and I'm pretty much over it all...no idea why the writers thought it was a good idea to have Lorelai get run over by a figurative truck this season, but I'm tired of it.

I have nothing good to say except that Rory and Paris were excellent last night. And I am very interested to see how the Rory/Logan relationship works out.

I feel like I watch GG now...only to see it through to the end.

Anna is a bit overprotected of her daughter, no? I don't think it's right that she wouldn't introduce her pre-teen daughter to a "boyfriend' until they were nearly married. A man coming into that relationship, IMO, should bond with the mother AND child. (KWIM?)

so - with the previews for next week...who's pregnant? (did Lane get pregnant on her wedding night? heheh) Or do we ("we" as in "those who have read spoiler sites") already know?

"We" already know. And my DH, who doesn't read the spoilers, figured it out on the first try last night...I was impressed!

I must admit, I wasn't in love with the April storyline (as I said before), but the writers are doing a good job with it. :thumbsup2 The drama is pretty up there and I have to admit I'm enjoying it. I too liked Luke's reason for not introducing April to Lorelai. That made perfect sense -- she is a very colorful and fun person. It was nice to see him finally admit his insecurity on the issue. (In response to NMAmy...Yeah, i have no clue what Anna's motive is. You bring up interesting insight.)

Lorelai/Lauren made some good faces when talking with Anna at the end. She is really such a great actress (of course she does the rambling comedy thing well, but she's really acing the more serious scenes). I can see Anna's point of not wanting her daughter to have "others" in and out of her life, but why would she leave all those girls at Luke's during the party? :confused3 I think it would have been way more realistic for Anna to stick around and just be there during the party.

Rory's phone call to Mitchum -- didn't care for it. I'm not sure how I feel about it. (Rory's storyline is a bit dull for me. I'm 22 and it just doesn't flow for a 21 y/o character IMO.)

Yes, we spoiler people DO know who gets pregnant. Send me a PM if you'd like to know, stinkerbelle. I wouldn't dare post it here and ruin it for others. ;)

All in all, great episode. I loved the scene of the girls running down the street all zig-zaggy. Lorelai's character at her finest. She can't help but like April; it's cute.

If someone wants to PM me with who is prego I wanta know! (I have a guess but ...hummmm)

I think Lorelei saw shades of herself last night with Anna. She never let the guys she dated in the house. Remember the first time Max spent the night...it was all innocent but I think it freaked Rory out because she never had any men around the house. I think Anna is doing the same thing. She hasn't had Luke in her life and she doesn't know what type of women he has around. I think Lorelei understood because she lived it.

I LOVED the Rory part! Telling daddo off...the man who crushed her...she's now editor of the paper and has her head on straight ...good for her!

Paris was great too.

And Luke admitting why he didn't want Lorelei around...kind of lame but cute...and it took all this time for the writers to reveal that???

Hi everyone...new to this thread...but not to Gilmore Girls. I love this show. Have all the seasons on DVD...even get my kids to watch it with me when its on abc family!! I thihnk I may have even gotten DH to enjoy it. He was embarrassed for Luke last night when he was laying down the rules for the party.

I think I know who is prego...but if anyone wants to PM me that would be great too. I read spoiler fix...so I am pretty sure...

Okay, read the article. Quickly, granted, but I think pretty thoroughly. Here are my thoughts:

I don't see them as arrogant. I see them as two people who created this show, created these characters, killed themselves to produce it for 6 years and finally went to the PTB (powers that be) asking for help to continue to put out the quality of show they believed in. The studio turned them down flat without even discussing it with them. That is crushing.

How do I know that? I'm living it right now at my job. I'm not "coming back next season" either. Why? As Amy said in the interview, it isn't about the money. I'm paid well enough. it's about wanting to be able to do my job to the best of my ability and have the support of the PTB. It's about knowing that what you do matters and is appreciated.

Granted, I'm getting pretty deep discussing a TV show ( :teeth: ), but the interview really resonated with me. I believe them, and I felt their frustration because it echoed my own. Bottom line, whether you're a TV producer or a <insert your profession here> you just want to be happy at the end of the day and know people think you do a good job.

Quite frankly, after reading that, I'm not sure I'm even interested in watching next season.
