The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

Okay, still haven't watched last week's ep, but did watch tonight's. Lorelai's speech was the most painful TV moment I've seen in a long time.

You guys know I've always liked Christopher...well, after last night I'm completely out of the Luke camp and in Chris' corner. What an *** Luke is. Period. I just want to shake him and say PAY ATTENTION!!! Chris has his faults but at least he pays attention to Lor and Rory...Luke might as well just tell her outright he's not interested anymore.

I don't get how quickly this wedding happened. Why so fast? They got engaged like literally 3-4 weeks ago and now they're married. It's really weird.

I loved the play by play of the Sidekick conversations...too funny.

I agree with you about Lorelai's toast. I just kept thinking, "Somebody get UP there and get her off that stage!" It was heartbreaking.

About Lane's wedding happening so quickly--I got the impression that she was probably pregnant when she started throwing up early along in the bachelor party. And I LOVED watching Mrs. Kim with her mother--that sure explains a lot, doesn't it?

I'm still not a big Christopher fan--but I also want to kick Luke for the way he's treating Lorelai. I really think that Lorelai and Luke could be great together--and I don't get that feeling from Chris.

I thought the Sidekick conversations were great, too! Although, I'm really out of the loop--I didn't even know what a Sidekick was. I did think it was funny that both Rory and Christopher thought they should "clear" the gift through Lorelai. :teeth:

Was it Lane getting sick? I though it was one of the other girls...I totally didn't catch it was Lane. If she knew she was preggers, she wouldn't have gotten trashed at the reception, I wouldn't think...but who knows.

Maybe I'm wrong but I was pretty sure it was Lane. If it was her--maybe she doesn't know she's pregnant. Which leads us right back to "why the hurry on the wedding?" :teeth: What a vicious circle!

Thank you, Amy. Still don't like Chris either. They're not one of those couples that you can remember forever the way Luke & Lorelai could be. The writers, I say!

I didn't even think about Lane being pregnant. Hmm, maybe.

I also loved the "58 seats and 62 Koreans" thing...

And that Miss Patty spent the night there to get a good seat. I also loved the way they dropped the checks in the bag, grabbed the food, and zipped away!

Oh, and Kirk with his yummy bartenders was cute.

I think it was one of the other girls throwing up, not Lane. The girl throwing up had white pants on and I think Lane was wearing jeans, right?

Also, I don't think Lane is pregnant. Wasn't she going to wait until her wedding night to have sex for the first time? I thought she said that on a date with Zack in an episode last season. I think AS-P just wanted to throw a wedding in there for a good storyline.

I'm still thinking about Lorelai's toast! It was such a good scene...well-written and really well acted. I feel so bad for Lorelai!

I really don't think it was Lane getting sick. I thought it was that other girl who is living with the Kims. I can't remember her name, but she had on the Avril Lavigne shirt.

I really loved the whole 3 part wedding thing though. It really showed all 3 generations and what was important to them. Plus the run to the church was hilarious. I thought it was a great episode even though that speech was heart-breaking.

I had to tape the show for DD who was at a school thing last night, so we watched it when she got home from school today. I'm in agreement with those who say it wasn't Lane too. Pretty sure it was the "Lane clone" (sorry, it's what we call her at our house). There were too many great lines, but Lorilei's speech was heartbreaking. I'm going to be SO disappointed if they continue this story line with Luke being a jerk. Maybe we need to find a way to contact AS-P and let her know we're not happy with the way this story line is going!!!! (well, O.K., those of us who want Luke & Lorilei together that is).

Well, I'm going to talk about one of the spoilers since it's not about the actual plot...so it's official that Amy Sherman-Palladino and hubby are not returning to the show next season. Bummer. Although, this season hasn't been all the great with them this year...so maybe it'll be okay.

I was just going to address that same topic, Maleficent13.

How messed up is it that the writers aren't going to return? How can someone turn their back on their own hit show? I keep thinking maybe they'll reach another agreement...or do we think it is FINAL?

Here's a link for an article on the new writer for the show. There's also a link on the article that explains the decision of Amy and Dan Palladino's leaving the show. Passing up 5 million b/c they weren't offered 2 years??? Huh? http://community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?threadID=800000656

I guess we'll never know the whole story about why the writers are leaving the show.

Just plain weird!

I just watched last weeks episode today.
My thoughts....
-It was not Lane throwing up, I rewound it 3 times, it was another girl.

-Christopher so loves Lor still.

-Lane looked nice, but that dress was still very ugly.Couldn't Lor make the dress better? Funny, with the three weddings. Why did all of Mrs. Kims guests grab food and run away so quickly though??

-I laughed at that guy in the band with the long hairs wife. (cant remember his name). His wife has long blonde 80s hair and tight tight pants and top. Too funny.

-I laughed out loud when Mrs. Kim was having the 'talk' with Lane and said to her, "You are going to have to DO IT." "You have to do it." "Maybe only once if you are lucky like I was" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

-Why oh why is the wedding on the day when both of Lor and Rorys boyfriends can't be there? Why does it always have to be soooo difficult for those two and their love lives?? Not even one of them showing up? Then Chris stepping in? I am surprised that Jess just didn't happen to be in town to be Rorys date. Or Dean. Give them girls a break writers!!

-Lors speech. Very very painful. Torturous actually. Ugh. Hated it. Made her seem so desperate, lonely and pathetic. :sad2:

Good thoughts, Albertan mom. Thanks for caring enough to rewind the tape 3x. :thumbsup2

I was wondering why Lane's relatives left so quickly after the wedding. A cultural thing maybe???

Also, I didn't really get the 62 Koreans for 60 chairs joke or whatever. Another cultural joke going over my head? Whoops.

Just finished watching the sidekick / Lanes wedding episode...

FUNNY!!!

The Kim family is a riot -- hiding things under the floor boards-- what a hoot!! :rotfl2:

Lor having a breakdown at the wedding was not a total suprise, but it was a little unexpected

I loved Zac with the robe--- FUNNY!! :rotfl:

I guess Rory really does love Logan-- leaving her mom to run to NY

And Christopher and Lor, is this when they start to get back together??

and at least Luke called :confused3

I was so scared that Lor and Chris were gonna get a drunk and get stupid. Thank god Chris kept a level head. I felt sooooo bad for Lor. I hope Luke hears about all this and realizes how he is making her feel.

IS Luke living there? I thought it was really funny the way he knocked before coming into the house when her parents were there...I didn't understand why he'd knock...

:confused3 I was wondering why also, she just walks upstairs at the diner to see him, and he has to knock on a house he has lived in and remodeled???

I thought in the episode where Zack proposed they said something like they could finally sleep together or something, which would make me think she was not pregnant, just a bad drinker???

maybe she was getting too "old" and her mom wanter her hitched ASAP??
