I know what you are saying about the teen viewers. I didn't watch GH in High School, but my best friend did. She would rush home to watch Jax/Brenda/Sonny not whatever teens were on.

I only like Sonny when he is away from Carly. I can't stand this while storyline with her right now. HE just seems pathetic and desparate. I do like him with Alexis though (not romatically.) Love the weed conversations.

I liked LuLu during the abortion storyline and Laura's return. This storyline is so boring, but I also think Dillon and LuLu have no chemistry. I just find Dillon boring all around. LOVES Spinelli though!

Overall though the variety of characters used is much better than it was a few years back.

Auntie, you have a 19 year daughter, I have a 19 year old son -- they both watch GH - we should set them up LOL Hey in soap land we'd be inlaws.

I agree with all of you so much. The new "younger" group have no story line, no mix, they are just stand alone arcs. They killed Port Charles with that and they are doing the same to GH. You know when the oldtimers were back, I stayed up everynight to 10 pm to watch it on soap net, the past 2 weeks, I turn off at 9:30 and fall asleep. I just don't care. It's terrible what they have done to us old times. Like I said before I've been watching from the beginning. I just don't want to turn it on this past week.

Mary Anne...it's so funny my mom said the very same thing today..that she hardly watches anymore. She used to watch religously. You can go for weeks and nothing much happens. The only time it does is because there is a sweeps week..then they plan something big. Before that..or after..you don't miss too much by not tuning in daily. If luke is not in a storyline..it's especially dull. I enjoy his character and his dialog.
I was a fan of the Brenda/Sonny days..it was new and interesting. It's been years since that..and it's same old, same old for Sonny. It's actually turned into the Sonny and Jason show. Kind of hard to keep interest in that. Exactly how many times has this man or Jason for that matter been shot..been helped by Elizabeth..or Monica..or have they've been in the hospital. Those two have got to be full of holes by now. Half pound of swiss cheese for sure!

I think I liked it best when they featured the "brownstone"...remember that? I don't even know where Bobby lives now?...Does anyone know where Felicia even is...don't tell me..with her sick Aunt...again..? I wish they would make use of Mac..instead of his coming in and arresting or investigating someone every couple of months. They have Robin back..do they forget that they were family?

I can't remember the last time the brownstone was used. That is where Robin, Patrick and the rest of the "singles" should be living.

I was just reading on soapzone and it said that Robin had to be taken from the set a few times she's so upset about Alan being killed off. You we feel terrible, she must be beside herself. She's known and worked with him since she was like 6 years old. I work in HR, know how terrible it is to go through a "downsizing" it's terrible, you just want to go home and crawl in bed. Most of the time, it's worst to be left behind then to be let go. I don't know how many of the oldtimers are showing up for work these days. So sad.

I knew about GH as a teen (in the mid to late 70's) because my mom watched it. She stopped watching it during the alien storyline, which I missed because I had already graduated and was working by then. I'm glad I missed that nonsense! My mom never started watching it again, she switched to CBS soaps I think it is.

I'd rather the GH vets stay off set if they can't use them in a productive way. Just having Monica and Alan sit on the sofa and throw in an occasional sarcastic comment in the Q's living room isn't enough. Why bother with them at all?

Pretty soon the only vets we're going to see are Tracy and Luke, and Luke is an on again off again character as it is.

That's so sad...about Robin. I didn't even think of that. I do wonder what the actors that portray Monica and Tracie feel about this. Wonder if they think they'll be next. If they are killing of Allan..anything's possible. I think it's such a waste. They could have done so much with him..especially in regard to losing AJ. To loose a child...even if he was dispicable..like AJ...they touched on it briefly, but it's as if it's forgotten. Allan had more sympathy for him than did Monica..would have been a good story. Or even just to have him be a grandpa..to Skye's child. That would be great...they act as if it never happened. It's a shame. Very sad to see him go. I'm sure his last scenes will be great..and honestly that will probably make it worse. Just as with Tony, you wonder what they are thinking, not utilizing the talent they have.

The same thread about Robin said that Monica and Bobbie were very upset. I've heard that Monica has already said she won't resign in a few months when her contract is up. You know Monica and Allen's 30th anniversary is ina few months. They couldn't have given them THAT and then let them fade in the background.

The younger characters are also feeling like it is their fault about Alan being let go, seems they too are not too happy about it all. Can't be a good place to have to come to work these days. I agree, what were the writers thinking....

Feel the same started watching in 1980..was pregnant with my first child at the time..was 22. I was hooked. While I was excited to see them bring back some of the old characters..it was such a dissapointment to see them used simply for ratings..and not a story. I agree having Monica and Allan sit on a couch is such a waste. I'd much rather see them with a story..but I guess they have been put out to pasture. Sad part of that is that I really believe there are those of us out there who would like to see storylines with dare I say it.."older" characters..ones we've grown up with, and raised our families while watching. Honestly..how many "who's the daddy"...storylines has this show had. I've lost count. I love how these people procreate..and then..you never see the kids..they never have kids with problems..or issues. Oh..yes Lucus was gay..then he was gone. Maxie becomes a slut...repetively....and..yes...a pregnancy storyline...how original!

I think you are right about Tracy..she's there because of the Luke connection..if he quits..as often is rumored..she's history as fast as Allan.

I've been watching soaps since I was maybe 7 or 8; (what was my mother thinking???) Edge of Night was my first. I can remember them being 15 mintues long - Guiding LIght/Secret Storm. Love of Life.... sadly, I think in the next five years soap will only be on cable, we'll have Rosie and the View all day long. At this point, I'd even be happen if they ended GH and just gave us re-runs on Soap Net. Those would be worth staying up to 10 pm each night to see.

Old GH episodes would be great to watch! What a whirlwind of hair and make-up it would be!

Speaking of Lucas, whatever happened to him? He went the way of Steven Webber, Liz's doctor brother. Anyone remember him? He fell into the soap opera black hole too.

You might be right about that. I think I'd rather enjoy seeing the shows from years ago as opposed to where it's going now. I too would watch them at 10 pm. With cable options people are going to turn away from this..it's boring. I just don't get it. Why make it all about kids...who aren't home at the time to watch it..and if they were wouldn't anyway. There are more options for them on cable. They laugh at us soap watchers. I also wonder how old are the writers..that's got to be part of the problem also. If they don't have anyone there who really is familiar with the history of the show..that's another reason these characters are phased out. Really, what would be the matter with some stories for Bobbie..or Mac...or Monica and Allan. I think it would have been really nice to have seen an anniversary party or celebration of 30 years for Monica and Allan. So sad.

That link was great...I was looking through some of the others on the site. I had never seen the Nurse's Ball:thumbsup2 (remember those?) where Jason carried Robin off the stage. Had heard about it..but missed it that day. I had tears in my eyes. All the faces in the audience..really made me think about how they are giving Allan the heave ho. Bobby..Katherine Bell!..remember her?...Mac..oh Mac was so cute...can we let the man have some lines every once in a while. Sonny and Jason..and the original Carly were in it..along with BRENDA! Hmm...been a while since they had writing like that..and a variety of characters to hold our interest. I wish you could send those links to those in charge now.
In any event..this week looks interesting..who will survie type stuff?..Of course we know who won't. :sad1:

Oh, I adored the nurses' ball -what a wonderful annual fiesta that was.

Well, as I said many pages ago, I would love it if GH could resurrect Lucy - she was the heart of the Nurses' Ball and sometimes of the entire show.

All of what I am posting and whiting out are sweeps spoilers. Don't read if you don't want to know! :)

When Sam calls Carly about not being too concerned with Jax's feelings, Carly reminds Sam she's lucky Liz's baby didn't turn out to be Jason's.

*******************
she doesnt fall on Mateo. She just yells at him as usual. She falls because she is wearing Maxie's broken shoe.

I don't get why she would yell at Mateo.

She yells at him because his brother was evil.

At one point, the manager is asked by the asst manager at the MC why they continue to keep around someone as inept as Sam and the manager replies as long as she's Jason's gf, she stays.

Is Jax back before the end of sweeps? Carly does know the truth before he returns right?

Carly knows on Friday the 26th. Ingo is back taping on the 5th of Febuary, so Jax will air 2-3 wks after that.

Is Jax back before the end of sweeps? Carly does know the truth before he returns right?

Carly knows the truth and they're trying to reach Jax because he's the only one who knows the code to over-ride the lockdown of the vault. I don't know if they reach him at any point.

Jax will be onscreen February 23, a week after the explosion takes place.

Lucky and Cruz get into it as well on more than one occasion.

Pip is not in the hotel when it explodes.

Robin is unconscious for the majority of the time in the MC. Craig finally agrees to allow her to be taken out by Nikolas and a person of his choosing. Nikolas chooses Emily to join him in taking Robin out. Patrick and paramedics are waiting to take her.

More from SD

Insider, can you answer if Jason or Lucky saves Liz?
Jason saves Liz but Lucky isn't far behind with the police and SWAT team. Lucky is there when Maxie is rescued and he helps Emily with Alan.

Hi Insider

Do you have anything about Jason and Robin? I wonder will J&R will be share any scene together.
Don't expect any until Alan's funeral.

Do you have any info on Luke's role during sweeps ?

I want him to be heroic.
He's butting heads with Scotty, Tracy and the rest of the Q's. He's worried about Lulu who is a hostage. He visists Laura. He doesn't try to play hero but you do get some good Skye/Luke scenes.

These are from SD
so when/how does jason find out?
Liz tells him after the explosion.

Is he mad? Or just a little peturbed, because nobody gets really mad at Liz.
See. Told ya he wouldn't be mad. I mean what's a little lie beween two people with a soul connection.
He isn't mad but hurt.

Insider does Sam discover the truth about Liz's baby during the explosion?
No she finds out after everyone is brought out. Jason attempts to tell her a few times but they're interupted until they finally get a minute alone which won't be for awhile.

Found this by ANON at SD:

Sam doesn't tell anyone about her infertility and Nikolas and Emily talk about a lifetime together prior to the hostage crisis.

Carly and Sonny profess how they never stopped loving each other.

Liz blurts out an ILY and gets one in return.

When asked whom she said this to, the anon replied "Jason"

Insider
Anything on Liz during the crisis? Does her secret come out? Is she hurt?
She's not hurt during the hostage crisis but is hurt during the explosion. Her secret does come out.

Good afternoon SD..
Insider - do you have any information on Alan's last scenes, who they will be with etc. And do you have anything on Monica afterwards, will she and Jason be close, will he be there for her?
Any behind the scenes stuff over SD that you can add to what's already been posted?
Please and thanks
He is injured during the explosion but is brought to GH. He has final scenes with Monica, Tracy and Edward at the hospital. He shares scenes with Robin prior to the hostage crisis and he saves her life after she's shot. He shares scenes with Emily and Liz during the hostage crisis. He shares scenes with Jason and Emily at the hotel after the explosion. His final scene is taped February 2.

Does he discover the truth about his baby? Does he know Sam is out?
He does find out and he knows Sam has gotten out of the hotel.

Does Alan know that Elizabeth is pregnant with Jason's child before he dies?
Yes he does.

How does Sam get out?
She crawls out of a window.

Are Liz and Lucky divorced now? What about Rexis?
Liz and Lucky are divorced which is why he proposes again. Ric and Alexis aren't divorced yet.

Thanks. I guess Liz won't be accepting since she's in love with Jason now. I bet Ric rides to her rescue when things get tough with Jason once he finds out she was planning to keep his baby away from him.
Ric's part in planting the drugs on Lucky is found out and he loses the friends he had in Liz and Lucky.

So, is Alexis in jail this whole sweeps with Ric tormenting her from the other side of the bars? Riveting!
No. Alexis spends an hour at the PCPD before she's released

Insider

What is Sam doing after she escapes?

What is here secret?
The secret isn't touched on for the rest of sweeps. She is waiting outside after she escapes for people to be rescued.

Alexis after PCPD:

What is she doing the rest of sweeps?
She's dealing with Sam, Nikolas, Emily and Sonny being taken hostage and she has a few scenes of arguing with Ric.

Where in the world is Rober Scorpio? His baby girl is being shot and near death and where is he??!
He is nowhere around during February.

insider, could you give me a overview of the Nem interaction over the next several weeks, will they be separated when the explosion happens?
Yes because Nikolas is outside and she is still in the lobby.

Any Jax info? Does he come back w/ a new woman??
No he doesn't bring back a woman.

Insider does Sam discover the truth about Liz's baby during the explosion?
No she finds out after everyone is brought out. Jason attempts to tell her a few times but they're interupted until they finally get a minute alone which won't be for awhile.

What happens after Patrick operates on Lorenzo? Do they get the code?
Yes after he wakes up but Jason has already gone into the building so they have to get it to him while he's in there.

where is Liz after the explosion? How does Jason know that Sam left and why doesnt he go with her?
Liz is still in the hotel. Jason doesn't go with her because there are still people in the hotel being held hostage.

Insider

We get some good Skye/Luke scenes ?

Thank you Jesus! I've been waiting for TG/RC to share the screen again.

Can you expound a bit about their content ?

I am someone who can't stand Tracey with Luke. Give me Skye and Luke.

Sweeps just became interesting to me.
They're not sweet scenes. He goes off on her for "losing her mind" and hooking up with Lorenzo. He wants to know if she was privy to his dealings that may cause his daughter her life. She defends Lorenzo but he tells her she's a sell-out who didn't want to be part of his crazy world but goes along blindly with a man like Lorenzo. They're powerful scenes though.

Does Max die???
Yes he takes a bullet for Sonny on Feb 12

will the rescue efforts after the explosion last until th 28th or will it be over before then?
will the rescue efforts after the explosion last until th 28th or will it be over before then?

So Jason finds out first. Does Lucky know or does he not matter?
He finds out at the hospital.

You said Liz is hurt in the explosion-Does she lose her baby????
No and it's not a serious injury

Insider...

What is happening with Maxie during the crisis? Is she still in the vault? Does she get out. Does she get hurt? Does Lucky know?

Thanks for any info
She passes out in the vault and the viewers will be left wondering if something happened to her in the vault. He's there when the vault is opened and she's brought out. She'll deny anything happened in the vault but people will suspect otherwise.

Insider

Does S&C will be sleep together end of the sweeps?
Before the end of sweeps. Feb 21

So they sleep together in the rubble?
No they're rescued on Feb 19

INSIDER WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH LORENZO AFTER SWEEPS, WILL HE AND SKYE STILL BE TOGETHER
They'll be together but Skye will be devastated due to Alan's death.

Insider do you have any Carly or S/C/J spoilers? And Is MC completely destroyed?
No it's not completely destroyed and Jax doesn't show up until after everyone's out of the MC.

Has anyone said how Lucky finds out?
Liz tells him at the hospital

Alan dies in the hospital. His last scene is wih Monica.

When Jason does tell Sam about the baby-what is her reaction going to be? And Jason will be dealing with Alan's death, I thought Jason only wants Sam by his side. Jason doesn't care enough for Liz to go see her?
When Sam finally hears she's devastated and it stops her from telling him Dr. Reed informed her she is unable to have a child of her own. Jason goes with Liz to the hospital.
