The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

Ok - my friend works at an ad agency for a major airline and they are putting together their flyer for free dining. She forwarded me the print and the dates are Aug 26 - Sep 22 with bookings by June 24th.

Thanks for this news.

I do have a question, though. I do not doubt your news or friend at all. I am just curious about the ad. Why would an airline advertise free dining? I just don't understand that one.

she works in the vacation package area of the airline - where they advertise airfare & hotel packages...

You can book disney vacations through many of the airlines. When promotions come out some of them advertise it. I saw that the upgrade promotion for hoppers and waterparks were advertised when that came out early this year.

I do have a quick question, We are going the August 23rd-August 29th do you think we will get the free dining if it starts on the 26th seeing as we will be there during the time frame? We are already booked at the PoP Century. My kids love this resort!:cloud9:

We drive to WDW so I never really thought about booking a package through an airline.

More confirming news that it is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

You won't be able to get it for the 23-25. If it starts on the 26th you might be able to get it for the 26-29th, but you would have to have your current reservation booked into 2 seperate reservations, one for the 23-25 and one for the 26-29th. We have been reading that the amount of free dining packages available at the value resorts will be less than what will be available at the deluxe resorts, so just be aware of that.

Now if only Southwest would start booking past August 24th! I'd like to have my vacation dates and flights set. This is so exciting, I haven't been to Disney since my 1st anniversary in July of 2005. I can't wait to take my son. Hope they announce that free dining soon, the suspense is killing me :goodvibes

Yes, but not till the 26th I belive that is how it worked in 2005,not sure about lastyear. anyone else?
Free dinning here we come!
Calling today to make ADR's for Aug.
DOnt let me down Disney!

Never had seen this,is is new? Do they do it evey night?
It is a must see! Thats for the video!
Instead of spending time trying to explain it all, I found a video of it on YouTube. It takes place at the Magic Kingdom nearly every night and it can vary anytime between half an hour after closing to a couple of hours after closing. And before anyone asks, it has NOTHING to do with the Wishes song that plays after Wishes is over. ;)
When we saw it this past September, DH and I were two of only four guests left in the entire park (aside from CMs closing up). It was awesome!
Kiss Goodnight

Yes me too. Air fare through Disney's web site is just too much. Plus airtransway does not have many ns flights from PHL for us. Who wants to have a stop for a two hour and some flight?

Oh please let it be announced soon, I'm starting to lose it! I have been thinking about Disney so much that last night I dreamt I was on a boat helping look for Nemo (Captain Nemo, as in 20,000 Leagues, not the fish but both are Disney characaters) and suddenly there was a swirling hole in the bottom of the ocean (kinda like the Little Mermaid) and the guy said "you have to find your happy spot" and in my dream I remembered Splash Mountain mentions finding your happy place. I think it's a sign I really need a Disney vacation! Or DH says medication but Disney is more fun

Yes, did she say when it would go public?

just got an email back from her - she says April 12th or 15th (she is awaiting clarification). To be honest I really haven't been keeping up with the rumor mill on this as we aren't going until December so I'm not sure if that is the date everyone has been hearing..

Happy for everyone looking for free dining during that time!

ETA: she had orginally told me the booking window opens Apr 12th but now she is saying she is not sure - either the 12th or 15th - I have edited my original message above to reflect that.

Good morning everybody! Nothing official YET? :sad2: I kinda thought today might be the day.

Okay, is it just me or do those dates (Aug 26-Sept 22) seem like an awfully short time (less than a month) for Disney to offer a special discount? Would it really be worth it to them to bother with another discount for such a short time? Doesn't seem like the 2nd & 3rd weeks in Aug would be busy (or at least they haven't been in the past.)

Probably just wishful thinkin on my part since I was hoping for the week of Aug 18 or Sept 29!

Oh, well...guess I'll just keep my short May trip and plan a longer vacation somewhere else in Aug. Disney has my number. I'm the one that subscribes to everything, has a DV, shops with them on line, gives them all my hard-earned vacation time and money - and never gets a PIN or even a special discount that works for me. ;) They know they don't have to - I'm comin' back anyway - full price! :rotfl:

Are you guys planning on emailing this address and asking to be added to the list? Or what are you going to do with this?

I want to be on the list for sure, but I wasn't sure what to do?
You cannot email them...it's an automated email so it will not accept anything. These are simply the email addresses that the pin codes come from. You can always add them to your email address book so that way you don't run into the risk of having any offers sent to your junk/bulk/spam folder.

Please, please, please announce the free DDP. I'm going nuts and my husband already thinks I'm nuts, so there you go. Nothing on disney site, nothing on disney visa site.....I need help :dance3:

Hmmm, the kiss goodnight is neat....but how do you stay in the park an hour and a half past closing? Don't they kick you out? What do you do for that time? I'll have to check the website updates and see when we're there what night it'll be on, if it's not too late we may stay and see it. Wonder if they do a kiss good morning? LOL
When we were there, we were waiting at the Hub (where the Partners statue is) with another couple. A couple of park managers came up to us and asked what we were waiting for (in a nice way) and we said it was for the Kiss Goodnight. They just said "oh ok" and then asked us some questions about how our vacation was going, what we had done so far, where we had eaten, etc. Then they waited as well to watch it. They had this old fashioned car thing (I think the Main Street "mayor" sometimes rides it) waiting for us...so when the Kiss Goodnight was over, they drove us and the other couple to the front gate and we left. It was just a neat experience all around. No one ever asked us to leave and they never said "hey, we're closed, you know!"
And no, there is no "Kiss Good morning". They just have the opening ceremonies or whatever they are.

Here what I posted earlier:
It happens almost every night. There are some nights they skip it. Here's a link to Steve Soares website...he lists the schedule for things at the different parks. Bear in mind that the schedule is done only a week at a time so if you're looking for anything for the future, it's not going to be there. Anyway, go to the link and then at the top of the site, click on "Magic Kingdom". At the bottom of the MK page under "Parades & Fireworks", the schedule for the Kiss Goodnight will be listed.
