Recently I thought it would be fun to include Flat Stanley in all our DVC fun. Let take Flat Stanley along on our DVC vacations and send back pictures to this thread and share about his fun adventures. If anyone is interested in taking Flat Stanley to Disney print out a copy of Flat Stanley from the web page given below. You can color your Flat Stanley any way you like. Now once we get a few Flat Stanley's in circulation we can mail our Flat Stanley's to others to keep the tradition of sending Flat Stanley through the mail to continue his adventures.

In case you never heard of Flat Stanley here is a little information I found on the web.

Have Fun!!!

Stanley Lambchop and his younger brother Arthur are given a big bulletin board by their Dad for putting pictures and posters on. He hangs it on the wall over Stanley's bed, but during the night the board falls from the wall, flattening Stanley in his sleep. He survives and makes the best of his altered state, and soon he is entering locked rooms by sliding under the door, and playing with his younger brother by being used as a kite. Stanley even helps catch some art museum sneak thieves by posing as a painting on the wall. But one special advantage is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends by being mailed in an envelope. Eventually Arthur, who tires of all the attention Stanley has been getting, reverts Stanley to his proper shape through an air pump used for footballs.

My wife and I are both elementary school teachers, so we have definitely heard of Flat Stanley. We would be happy to have him join us on our trip to WDW next month!

I was looking forward to my son doing the flat stanley project this year but they messed it up and used a life size version of DS as a "flat stanely" and it is very cumbersome to unfold and get out and back in the envelope.

:thumbsup2 Flat AnnaGrace went all over Philadelphia once, she had a great time. I would love to take Flat Stanley with me to Disney World. We won't be there until Dec so I am anxious to see who gets to travel with him first.

Several years ago Flat Stanley came to visit me in Boston, from VA. We had a blast bringing him around town, doing the tourist bit with him. Have fun with it!!!

A couple years ago one of our sons had to cancel coming with us, so we made up a Flat Johnny and had pictures of him taken everywhere, then I made a scrapbook for him so he could 'remember' his trip. I could post Flat Johnny DLR pictures if you'd like...

I am sure that Flat Stanley would love to see picture of Flat Johnny or any other of his Flat Peers.

The flat version of my daughter left school one October to visit exciting Iowa. When she returned she'd ridden the New York Subway, seen the U.S.S. Arizona, visited a palace in Germany, saw the street where the bulls run in Spain, visited a sculpture garden in Brazil, and saw the Opera House in Sydney - and returned with a scrapbook of her adventures.

I have an Aunt that was an elementary school teacher in WV & she had an underprivileged child a few years ago who didn't really have anyone to give his Flat Stanley too so she asked us if we'd keep him for awhile. We live near DC so he got to go sightseeing downtown and DH had Redskins tickets so he got to go to a Redskins game than he had a business trip to Europe so he took him to Germany and saw castles and also went to Copenhagen for a few days. DH ran into another Flat Stanley in the airport in Copenhagen and got pictures of the two of the two Flat Stanleys sitting together waiting in the airport. It was pretty funny. They looked like real pals. He was indeed a well traveled little guy and we had fun with him. He had quite a photo album when he went back to WV.

Ok, bare with me. Is Flat Stanley a doll? Like "Mr. Bill" on Saturday night live? I'm trying to grasp the concept, so far Flat Stanley just travels around with somebody?:confused3

Usually kids draw themselves or "Stanley" on a piece of paper and cut it out. Sometimes they decorate it with fabric for clothes, or put a picture of themselves where the face is.

For my daughter's project, Flat Child went out with a note that said she wanted to travel and people should take pictures and send them (and her) back by a date. The project goes out, my aunt sent it to her daughter, who sent it to her brother, who sent it to a friend of his overseas, who sent it......who finally sent it back.
