*The OFFICIAL February 2012 Thread!*

:yay::yay::yay:My friend and I leave in 4 and a half days and I am jumping out of my skin because I am so EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl::wizard::cool1::cool1::cool1::yay::yay::yay:

We are going Feb 11-17, our original plan was to go the 13-16, but I realized I could upgrade my military tickets to a florida select weekday pass for just $50 more per adult and $35 per kid...so that gives us 7 days for only $180! what a great deal...I'm soooo excited, anyway, what do you guys think of the crowds...this is our second trip and our first we went the week school was starting in Fl...so crowds were low.....do you guys think this will be crowded? I'm hoping by adding 3 extra days we can take it easy and do everything...and do you think we should add on the parks and more to our military tickets since we are going to upgrade anyway? is anybody else going to do water parks or is it too cold? also do you think my kids would enjoy disney quest at all, they are 5, 4, and 1. Thanks for the info! I'm so excited to go in just a few days!!! :):cool1:
I think you'll have plenty to do at the 4 parks, without DQ. (DQ=DisneyQuest. I always think Dairy Queen when I type that - ha!) Especially for those ages. Also, I think at least Typhoon Lagoon will be closed the whole month for refurb/maintenance, along with Dumbo, Thunder Mountain, Electrical Parade (resuming the 11th), fantasmic (resuming the 12th), backlot tour (closes Feb 13, so do it right when you get there, if you're gonna do it at all!) Honey I shrunk the kids playground (closes Feb 13)... for the whole list, check here: http://allears.net/tp/rehabs.htm

This is only our 2nd time going as a family as well. For crowd level predictions, I've been checking out easywdw.com. There are even park predictions. I like that the reasons are all explained, so you can really make up your own mind based on if you agree or not, you know?

What a great deal on tickets. Glad you're able to stay the extra days - it'll be so fun!

Have a great trip!

I checked out the facebook page, but I'm still confused... Can you please tell me how this works? THANKS! :)

You have to join the group and then you should be able to post to the group once you are confirmed to join.

Thanks for the tips! I think we are going to HWS on sat. then magic kingdom sunday, then our normal trip plans....my husband is anti water parks, so I think we will skip the extra pass. I'm sooo excited to have extra days at the park! :)

I'm completely new to this, but is it typical that this many major attractions would be closed like this? I'm extremely bummed that Thunder Mountain, Dumbo, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Backlot Tour, and the Honey I Shrunk The Kids stuff will be completely closed... Is this normal?

For the "slow" season, yes it is somewhat normal. It think the FF expansion makes it worse by adding Dumbo to the list, but more attractions are closed during the winter/early spring than the summer and holidays.

Here are some Photos of the Dresses for our Feb. Trip: (first time posting photos let me know if you can't see them)

*note: she put the dress on backwards, lol strap goes across other shoulder*

this is the apron to go with the Minnie mouse dress

*this was a hand cut freezer paper stencil*

We are making this a surprise trip for her, and as I do alot of sewing for other people I told her these were getting mailed to a friends little girl (who happens to be the same size/age). I just made sure that as soon as I completed a dress it got put out of sight, or "mailed". And of course everytime I finished one it was "mommy are you going to make me one too?", "we'll see halloween is coming" - lol!

I average 3-5 hours per dress, and materials ranged from $10(pocahontas / wendy)-$40 (fair godmother/mary poppins) each.

GirlOutlaw, those are INCREDIBLE! I love sewing, but am no where near that talented. I'm sure she will LOVE them, and so will all the CMs and Characters that see her in them. :cheer2:

We arrive on the 2nd leave the 6th can't wait. Second year in a row in Feb and at the CR with theme park view leave a little early and shower and watch fireworks from the room.

HOLY COW!! I want the Mary Poppins one too!! YOU! ARE! TALENTED!! She will never forget this! :cheer2:

Ok, better nearly late than never :surfweb:

Good thing it is my Sunday and DH's and he was fine watching TV for the last 7 hours so I could read this thread that I JUST found today. :scared1:

Ok, deep breath. We are Tim and Mary and check into Music on the 10th and out on the 15th. We will only have 3 days in the parks as the whole point of the trip is to pick the RV park we want to move to in June. :cloud9:

I did make 1 ADR for I belive 7pm at Sci-Fi on the 13th, mainly for DH as he enjoys the Sci-Fi channel. :happytv:

Please forgive me, should of taken notes, for the lady whom made her daughter the dresses... I enjoy sewing some as well but wow, nice job! :thumbsup2

We recvd our Mickey Mail about day 27 :teacher:

Now gonna head over to FB to see if I can find you all over there as well.

Safe travels all! :hippie:

My heart sank when I read that Dumbo closure was extended, so I understand your frustration. With Dumbo closed, I was hoping they would postpone the closure of Magic Carpets, since they are the same ride style. Perfect for the young ones. A girl can dream, right?

I know they'll be so many other things to do, but really wanted to experience these 2 while my son is at the age he is now. Give him another couple years, and he'll probably think them boring. :sad2:
