The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Okay, who else has "Disney dreams" before a trip?? They're almost never good... last week I dreamt we were at DTD and I fell in the lake, then last night I dreamt that I had forgotten ALL of my makeup. :scared1: :faint:

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has crazy pre-trip dreams!!

Ha! I had a crazy one just last night. I dreamed we got there and the parks had shut down because of sickness! I also dreamed we went to our dinner reservations at Ohana and they were only serving PB &J sandwiches. :scared1:. was trying to explain to my husband about my crazy dreams, and they were so real and not a bit funny while I was dreaming, and he said "you have realy lost it". I think I have!!

Well, at least we've both lost it... there's comfort in numbers, lol. They had better have more than pb&j when we go in a few weeks!! :thumbsup2

Dreams? I cant dream because I cannot fall asleep- like at all. I stay awake all night thinking about my touring plans- not even lying. I play everything again and again in my head- from waking the kids up, getting to the airport, the flight, landing, taking ME, getting to the parks, what rides we will do in what order, where, when and what we will eat......

I've never heard of this "per-park crowd level" thing so i looked it up and apparently they charge you to find out crowd levels. Well that sounds like a fabulous racket for them, but for me not so much since I already know which parks I'm going to what days. However, curiosity has got the better of me and I was wondering...if anyone feels especially generous and would like to tell me what crowd levels are on these dates in these parks? pirate: <--The pirate of course refers to my attempt to pilfer this information by insidious means.

i've already started having the "got the airport and forgot my luggage/license/kids" dreams. I have them every time I go away.

PP re: the per park levels -- yeah, you have to have a membership. It really helps a lot b/c although the overall crowd # might be a 9 (for all of WDW), some parks could be a 5 or 6. They avera ge all 4 #s to get the overall #. Anywho, it's against Dis rules and Touring plan rules to post the #s. Of course, if the pirate happens to look like Johnny Depp, I could be persuaded to spill it for him....;)

Lamb - that is me. i check all our paperwork like 5 times before we leave the house for the airport. i check again in the care and again before security. I have nightmares about not having my paperwork.

Speaking of, spoke to my TA on Friday. She received our mickey mail, so i should have it by next Tuesday.

Pickup up my LGMH today. (its the alien green yes? )

Tomorrow is my go through all my travel size stuff and compare to the packing list.

OMG there is a windchill alert here, they are forcasting up (down) to -49 F!!!!!!!!!!! This cold is horrible!!!!

SO not a racket... Why would it be free?? Those guys put a *lot* of work and analysis into those numbers, and when you've done a trip "on your own" and one planned by their predictions, you usually have two very different experiences. There's a perfect example on the Theme Park board right now, where one person was complaining about the huge crowds -- but they were at the wrong parks on the wrong days. Others there at the same time, at the recommended parks, said they experienced hardly any crowds.

It's a whopping $11 for a subscription... less with a code from the Mousesavers newsletter. With as much as these vacations cost, what's $11 bucks??

Will be in WD Feb 2-6th, so what kind of clothing is ever packing?? I was hoping to bring capris & shorts sleeves/long sleeves???? I keep telling myself whatever the weather is there, it's better than here. My car temp. just read 6 degrees :scared1:

Hey neighbor!

Same time frame for me too...I think I'm going to pack a couple of pair of capri's, a pair of jeans (wearing a pair down too), long sleeved t's to layer under short sleeves, a couple of 1/2 zip light weight fleece pullovers, and a fleece lined running jacket I picked up at Target (waterproof with a hood). I *might* bring a pair of bermuda shorts, but my legs are so white that I really don't think I'd wear them, even if it was warm enough!

We are renting a locker every day, so we can dress in layers and shed them as we need to. Then we will have our jackets for the evenings and we won't have to carry them around all day long.

I've never been to Disney at this time of year before, so it will be different experiencing it in cool/cold weather!

I saw the neatest pants at Wal-mart today...I didn't buy them because I didn't have time to try them on...but they were Danskin brand, in the ladies workout clothes area. They were long pants, but they rolled up and buttoned into capri's, but the legs also zipped off to turn into longer length shorts. They were in a lightweight material, kind of that "rip stop" material...and came in khaki, black and gray. I thought they were the perfect pants for this time of year! :thumbsup2

Fair enough. I thought that information was gathered by Disney and public knowlege somewhere(that i couldn't find). But I really have no idea how that works. But for me it doesn't make sense to pay for because I've already made my ADR's and chosen my park days according to NOT going to the parks that have extra magic hours and making sure I hit all the night shows in my only 5 days there. But I do get how that information would be helpful and worth the money to someone just starting the planning stages of their trip.

Ok, so I am at 10 days tomorrow and I am going to do online check in. Is there anything I need to know?

Allison- no sleeping for me either. I keep goi g over the packing list, the ADR's, the routes to get to the parks for the resorts. Urgh!

We are so excited here! I just have to get some printer ink to print all of our restaraunt invites, coupons and journal pages. So much to do - so little time!

This is the time we go every year (this is the 5th yr.)..so, FWIW
It varies (helpful right?) from downright freezing, cold, rainy to temperate, lightweight sweats (DH wears shorts) and a hoodie
I always bring Hot Hands and they are lifesavers when it starts to get cold in the evenings (or during the day)
We generally get rain at least 1 day (I've had some seriously SOAKED Uggs!) so I bring the ponchos
For myself I pack sweats and leggings, C&C tees to layer, sweaters, hoodies, scarves (<---scarves are a brill suggestion from a diving buddy, the long thin scarves are lightweight but can be wrapped several times and pulled up over your ears~and you can stick a Hot Hands pack inside;) )
I also bring leg warmers and socks but flip flops too
It's never gotten warm enough for me to wear shorts but mind 2 things
We are coming from AZ (where I wear UGGS from Nov.-March) and I am really susceptible to feeling chilled
I hope this helps someone
You can PM me if you have any other questions

Online check-in is easy as pie

Ugh, Delta bag check is 25$ per bag each way. That's aweful. 100$ I was not planning on spending. Next time, I'm going back to Jet Blue.

My dreams are always twisted up where things go wrong. I was being chased through the MK the other night.

So I thought everythign was good with my plans, and DD11 decided she wanted a Garden Grill dinner. Of course there is nothing the entire week we are there. So that stinks. I am gonna check morning noon and night for a ADR, but I grabbed a Liberty Tree Tavern. Anything is good in MK in my book lol.
28 days to go. Waiting on the mail man LOL!

If any of you guys got your Mickey Mail, at what day did you get it around?:confused3

yup, I was planning on JB all along b/c they had the flight times that I wanted but I checked every day for months and prices never went down, so I had to suck it up and book Delta (way down) and Air Tran (way back). *hopefully* we can get by with just 2 suitcases so just $50 each way..... but it still sucks.

FYI, there's a 50% code somewhere out there for Touring Plans, making it only $5.xx. I got it in one of the newsletter/emails that I get - I think mouseforless.com ??? I know it's kind of late for anyone that has their plans already set but it still might help tweak which parks you'll go to on which day. Plus the subscription is good for a year so in case you're planning to go back in the next year or so......

My disney dreams usually involve something really cool happening...like during the year of a millions dreams...I had dreamt SO many times that we won the castle suite...that I think I was serioulsy dissappointed when we went to WDW 2x that year and DIDN"T win!:rotfl: disppointed and shocked....as in "well I dreamt it was gonna happen":lmao::lmao:

THe week leading up to our trip I never sleep...my mind just races all over the flipping place.

I finally bought printer ink last night, now I can start printing our t-shirt transfers...& I'm still on the fence about autogrph books, I've made my own the past 4 trips....kinda don't want to do that again...but I know if I dare, NOT make them, the girls will miss them....so I probably will. What have you guys done???

I'm pretty sure Air Tran is $15/bag so that may save you $20 on the way back. Not much but hey, it's money, right?
