The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

We are 36 days from our trip and received our Magical Express info today. I thought that came closer to two weeks out plus we haven't received our other packet with the resort information, coupons, etc. When can I expect our resort information to arrive?

Thanks!

i'm around the same time as you and got my ME stuff yesterday. It seems like the others are getting their package stuff closer to 2 weeks before

My son adores it! Such a great group of kids...which is great when your child attends a school of around 3000 kids! It keeps them grounded and part of a group...

I am so excited to see them march...I get goosebumps when they play!!

I couldn't have said it better myself!! It really does keep them grounded, and it's important in high school to belong to some sort of club/group like that. And they work so *hard* in band -- it has taught him huge amounts of focus, discipline, and being a part of something bigger than himself. And the hard work paid off for the band as a whole -- they made it to State this year. I've never been so excited and proud in my life, as watching those kids march at the Alamo Dome a few months ago. :goodvibes

Re: wake up times -- I'll take 4am! We have to be at the parking place by 4:30 at the very latest, which means that for me to be ready and presentable to the world, I have to get up at 2:45!! :faint: Alli, just kick me awake if you find me asleep in the lobby at Pop.

So happy for all of you getting Mickey mail!! :woohoo:

My rough week got a little better today when I checked my mailbox and found my Mickey mail! Then, 10 minutes later the UPS guy showed up with my shirts I ordered from the Disney Store!

We leave two weeks from tomorrow. I hope I can make it that long with out telling the kids. :)

:

Presentable?!! Heck, our ride will be here at 4:45. I will be rolling out of bed around 4:30. I can't possibly force myself to get up any earlier. I'll be at the airport with my crazy hair and puffy eyes, lol.

I'm glad I don't have a super early wake up time. We drive 4 hours the day before and spend the night at an airport hotel, then our flight leaves at 10:15am. So we're almost wasting a day, but at least we'll be well rested.

Our flight leaves at 7 am so we'll probably be leaving the house around 4:45 am. Unless we get snow which means we'll have to leave any earlier! Oh well, gets us to MK that must sooner!

I feel for everyone who's flying & has to get up early.

For trips like this I am so glad we live 2 hours away from Orlando. We don't have to get up super early to head there. Although I just know my son is going to wake us up early - he's already asking when we are going.

WooHoo!
Friday! Just one week left of work before we leave for WDW!
I am so excited and so stressed at the same time. Gotta pack... and pack and pack and pack!

Gina- presentable? HA I am going to be a crying mess. Do not be surprised if I ask you to hide me in your room for the next week :)

Mommyrach- Thats awesome that you kept the surprise this long! How are you telling them?

21Hearts- so jealous that you live so close!!

Wahoo to all those getting their Mickey Mail :)

Marcy- hmmm I was planning on lining up on Main Street at 6:30pm- I may have to move that sooner now with the band starting then

Its -10 wind chill today- I am READY for some 60 degree weather- Jeans and sweatshirt weather is my favorite!

I think my puppy has figured out we are going to Disney and he is going to the puppy sitter. Since last night he as eatten my calendar of events, my ressie information and two old photopass cards which I save for scrapping booking. I think my puppy Hates Disney. He is our mouser he loves to bring us dead mice from outside - but really Sparky lets leave Mickey alone.:rotfl2:

-20 here this morning to cold to do anything except play on the computer and clean DD room as you can read I have opted for option 1.:surfweb:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that really is funny...silly dog!

:lmao: I'm cracking up with you ladies who said you have early wake up times and you either get up extra early to get ready or roll out of bed, because that is exactly me! I thought I was the only person out there who got up at 3am to get ready and go to the airport and then I'm exhausted the first day but super excited and the energy of being in Disney keeps me going!

Thankfully DBF told me no early flights this time, so we booked a 10am, so at least we can get up at a normal time! We added the extra day at the beginning of our trip at BCV so luckily it doesn't interfere with plans the first day. Just going to check in, head over to boardwalk for some grub, and then take a leisurely stroll around epcot WS maybe play some KP and catch illuminations.

Cant wait! & I hope to run into some of you guys in the parks with our LGMH! :thumbsup2

Aw man, another snow storm! It's been one a week this winter. I am praying to the weather gods that it skips a week for us. I don't want to lose my vacation time! Anybody else in deep fear of cancelled flights due to snow?

Is it bad that I keep coming back to the boards and looking up Disney stuff online? I really should be like watching my son (daughters are sleeping). But all I want to do is look at Disney stuff...

Yes!! Me!!

Our flight leaves around 4pm on Feb. 1, so if there is any snow overnight from Monday to Tuesday, I'm hoping that PHL is open by the time our flight leaves!

I did buy trip insurance just in case, but I'm hoping not to use it!

yep, but I don't mind so much b/c I figure if it keeps snowing this much now, Mother Nature will be all snowed out by the time our trips come. :thumbsup2
Of course I still have 5 weeks to go.....

But yeah, I've been living in fear of cancelled flights due to snow and of the family catching a horrible bug that week that I've been hearing so much about.

We don't have much trouble getting up that early -- we're so stinkin' excited that it's finally time to go!! But it's definitely eating into our plans in that it's evening EMH at Epcot, which we love. But there's no way we'll be able to make it that late into the night after being up so early, and then make it to morning EMH at DHS the next morning! And we have to make it to MK for at least a bit that first day -- we've lucked out in that it's the last day Toon Town will ever be open, and I want pictures. And DS wants to ride Goofy's Barnstormer about 10 times, lol. He still loves that ride so much!

So I guess we're just going to head to MK for a bit, get out well before Wishes starts, and make it into bed at a decent hour. I just wish we got in earlier. We usually get in at around 11am when we take this 6 o'clock flight, but that flight wasn't available when Delta had their momentary sale. The flight we're on doesn't get in until 1:30. I'm kinda hoping Delta changes the flight times again, so maybe I can change to the earlier-arriving flight for no charge! They made a change to our departing-for-home flight, changing the arrival time from 10:56pm to 11:25. I looked online and saw that there was a flight arriving at the same time, but would give us an hour longer at WDW. I called Delta, and they changed it for free with no hassle at all. Hey, an hour more at WDW is always a good thing! :goodvibes

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one has any trouble with flights and icky weather!! That's one thing that we all seem to have to worry about, no matter where we're coming from. You'd think Texas-Florida would be a pretty weather-issue-less route, but all roads lead to Atlanta-Hartsfield when you fly Delta... and I know how bad it can clog up there from delays elsewhere in the system. So here's hoping for NO SNOW for February!! Unrealistic, I know, but we can hope! :thumbsup2
