The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAMB!!! I hope you had a wonderful day! That's awesome about the Disney g.c. you got. Hope you do get more! I keep asking my boss to just pay me in Disney dollars, but so far no go. Lol. :thumbsup2

Re: airfare... I keep checking several times a day, but they are just still way higher than I am used to paying. Airtran is my best shot, since SW fares are always through the roof out of Houston for some stupid reason, but even AT has been way high. They did drop for a bit, but the times available for those fares were horrid, so I figured I had time to wait and see what happens.

On the Facebook group, please feel free to start whatever topics of discussion you might like. I like that we can have different threads, like a mini discussion board, so our Feb group can just look at what interests them. And if anyone wants to have a new FB friend, please feel free to add me! I didn't want to send our friend requests, because I know a lot of people like to keep their friend list to actual friends and family and I can uunderstand that. But I always like having Disney friends on FB, especially if they also play Frontierville and Treasure Isle! :) Speaking of Frontierville, does anyone else love playing that in large part because the music reminds them so much of Frontierland?? LOL It's a sickness, I know... ;)

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

hello all!

We are going 2/13/11 through 2/19/11 and staying at POFQ.

We were just there this last July, and I will *never* do that again. It was DH's first time out there, the day after we got home, he asked when do we go back!

I was going to surprise him, but with the free dining, I needed his imput for the resturant choices. Boy am I glad I did, he changed about 3 of the resturants I had picked out. :scared1:

I have a question:

We have reservations at Teppan Edo, however, its not listed on the dining plan brochure. Is this typically a dining plan resturant? We just had quick service last time, so this is all pretty new to me.

Thanks for your help!!!

Welcome shunasee- Teppan Edo isnt listed- YET- from what I heard they normally wait till December to finalize the contracts with the non-disney owned restaurant- Teppan was on the dining plan the last few years- so there should be no reason why they arent this year :) We are going the same time as you!! i would LOVE to see what parks you are going to on which day if you know :)

Gina- What are you doing first weekend in December? We may be heading out to Houston for the weekend to visit my uncle and his art gallery!!!

Happy Birthday Lamb!

Flights are booked! I couldn't stand the suspense! We decided to go for the more expensive but closer to home option (still a 4 hour drive) We arrive at MCO at 1:00pm and we leave from there at 10am. :yay::yay:

Congrats, Lynne!! It always makes me feel so much better when I have airfare locked in... That's awesome that you'll be there by 1pm, you'll still have most of the day ahead of you!

Amber ~ Yayness! Where are you staying? (I'm sorry if you already posted that back somewhere and I missed it!)

I am a dork and dont know how to copy two posts. :rotfl:

Here is the plan so far for our days:

2/13: we get in at 7pm (gotta love flying from across the country) so I think we will hit MK this night just to go on BTMRR. The one in FL is WAY better than the one out here.
2/14: Epcot, we have dinner reservations for Le Cellier
2/15: AK, dinner at Tusker House
2/16: Hollywood Studios, dinner at 50's Primetime
2/17: Epcot, dinner at Teppan Edo
2/18: Epcot, dinner at Rose and Crown
2/19: MK, breakfast at Crystal Palace and our plane leaves at 5 pm

I know lots of Epcot, it was my hubby's favorite out there. Plus we are getting hoppers so we can spend mornings elsewhere.

I really hope I like AK better. It was way to hot when we went mid-july this year, and I just hated it all.

For DS and I, we can't get enough Epcot time. I'd be happy if the plane landed right in the Epcot parking lot. :cloud9:

AK, once was enough for us, although we're thinking of popping over there long enough to ride Dinosaur! which we've never done. But I swear they pipe heat in to that place from Africa for realism or something. We were there in early February before, years ago, and it seemed 20 degrees hotter in that park and way too crowded -- even though the crowd numbers weren't that big. It just does not handle crowds well at ALL. I haven't decided how badly I want to ride Dinosaur -- we might just skip it again.

The *must* pipe the heat in! A CM told us that AK was actully the coolest park, and I was floored.

We didnt even hit Dinosaur when we were out there. Had to do Everest, and hubby was disappointed. Saw the bird show and that was about it. I would like to try dinosaur, I have been told its the same ride mechanics as Indiana Jones, which we love.

That's at DL, right? I've heard that ride is amazing! I wish they'd bring it to WDW!!

Shunasee:
We are eating at Le Cellier for Valentine's Day too! What time is your reservation for? I think ours is 6pm!

We will also be in DHS on Wednesday and Epcot on Thursday :)

Gina- there is a dinosaur ride in WDW AK too, though I havent been on it

I'm sorry, I meant the Indiana Jones ride... I'm here at work and posting kind of in a hurry. I've heard that even though IJ and Dinosaur have the same basic ride mechanics, the IJ ride is WAY better. It would fit in so well at DHS, and they need another ride there anyway!!

Our reservation at Le Cellier is for 7:30. You may still be there when we are there!

Gina - IJ is a blast. We have annual passes for DLR since we are only about 20 minutes away and go all the time.

BTW - as much as I love my handle.. my name is Kristi :goodvibes

Hi Kristi lol :) Awesome that we will be there at the same time!

Gina- Did your son go back to school yet?

Mandy- How are you?

Gina- Did your son go back to school yet?

Hi Allison! :) He started high school on Monday. :faint: It's not possible that I'm old enough for that!! :sad2: He loves it, and really likes all his teachers so far, especially his Latin teacher. I think it's going to be a good year!

How about you, did yours start on Monday also?

Happy Wednesday all! :goodvibes

Figured I'd post my rough itinerary too, which will probably change approx. 3,682,914 times between now and February... lol But some of the stuff is pretty set.

Friday, 2/11: Am hoping to get an early enough flight, like we usually do, to get there around lunch time. Eat at Pop, relax, get in our room as soon as we can and take a nap. That night is EMH at Epcot from 9-12, which we wouldn't miss for anything. Love those late night EMH's!

Saturday, 2/12: Sleepily get up for EMH at DHS. The per-park crowd level number for this day is crazy-low, so we're hoping to get to ride TSM a couple times. Only other draw for us there is RnRC and the Muppets (since Star Tours will be closed) so we should be done by lunch. Back to Pop for lunch and another nap most likely, but not before stopping at Starring Rolls and using a snack credit for one of those HUGE cupcakes!! The evening is still open, maybe we'll go resort-hopping or something.

Sunday, 2/13: Rope drop at Epcot, hang out there for a few hours so I can ride Mission: Space 20 more times :thumbsup2 , then another mid-day break. That night is evening EMH at MK, one of our fave things in the whole world. He rides Space Mountain a billion times, we ride Buzz over and over, and just relax and enjoy our surroundings. Love love LOVE late nights at MK that time of year!! Especially in Frontierland, where it'll be so empty. I love to just sit on a bench and soak it all in. :cloud9:

Monday, 2/14: We're sleeping in today! In fact, I have nothing planned at all yet for this day. There's a morning EMH at AK and an evening one at DHS, but we're doing neither. I'm sure we'll end up at Epcot, as usual.

Tuesday, 2/15: Morning EMH at Epcot. Later is MK, with a 6:35 ADR at 'Ohana so I can discuss all things Star Wars with Allison's DS.

Wednesday, 2/16: Rope drop at DHS (the lowest crowd number predicted for the entire time we're there -- I might just jettison going there on Saturday in favor of this. Haven't decided yet.) MK the rest of the day.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 2/17-2/19: I haven't really decided anything yet. There's another morning EMH at MK on the 17th, we might do that.

And that's all I have so far! I really do love being on the QSDP so much... after years of doing it the other way, it's so nice to not be tied down to ADR's. And man, we love those snack credits.

Gina

do you ride the orange side of Mission Space? I almost didnt survive and I am a coaster fiend.

We had QSDP in July loved not having to be anywhere at any specific time, other than the one TS we did.

This time we have the DDP, so I have all my reservations. We shall see how that limits the DH's touring style.

have a great day!!
