The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Their only choices on the sign-up sheet for the dance competition were for All-Stars and CBR. The only way any of them will be anywhere else is if they individually decide to stay at a different resort (like Pop) which they are highly discouraged from doing so. UDA might not even allow them to do that.

Pop just tends to fill up no matter what time of year.

Do keep in mind that Friday the 4th is "UDA Night" at MK, so it will be overrun with dance team girls!! :scared1:

Thats good to hear. I still think it is crazy that Pop is filled up that weekend but what can you do.

I wonder how the "UDA Night" will affect the day crowds. That is after the park is closed correct? Do you think it will be rough there during the day? We are planning on hitting our second day there that day but leaving around 530 for HDD reservations.

We tried to get Pop for the 6th through 13th was told it was completely booked. :( Right now we have All Star Movies picked but we may upgraded to Carribean Beach. DH is on the fence about it.

We've only stayed at Value resorts or off site. Whats the difference between Mod and Value resorts? (I'm sure this has been asked a milllion times). We figure that the mod resort would be a bit nicer & be more decorated but is that?

I think your plan should work fine. They arrive that day, not sure what time they'll hit the parks, but I just saw that they have exclusive use of MK after regular hours. Since that's the case, they shouldn't have much of an effect at all on crowds during the day.

Awesome:cool1: Like I said it is our second day there so we don't have tons of ground to cover..only a short list like fairies and toontown in the morning so I doubt they will be in that area. Thank goodness I was really starting to worry.

I really want to go and get the mail to see if I have any more mouse mail. But it's to cold i know wimpy wimpy wimpy but it's really cold.

Hi! New here. We're headed to Disney Feb. 18 - Feb. 23, which is winter break for DD's school. Me, DH, DD and DS who will be 1 on Feb. 27th.
Anyway, my question: Anyone have any idea how to steam a Belle costume? My dad bought DD the two Belle dresses, the yellow ball gown and the pink gown she wears in the winter scene, and they are both wrinkly, as if they just came out of the shipping box. I'm looking for information on the method of ironing/steaming. DD will be at BBB and then breakfast at CRT and I want her dress to look presentable.
Any pointers?
Please and thank you!

I would hang it in the bathroom while everyone showers..nice hot showers....after a few it should fall out....

A HIGH of *9*?!? That's a shoe size, not a temperature!! Us Southerners would curl up and die in weather like that, LOL.

if the tempature has a "-" infront of it, thats just not right. :rotfl:

I adore Canada, we have been to Vancouver/Calgary/Ottawa, amazing country. I so could not do the cold!!

Where did the time go? It was 6 flippin months ago when I made ADRs, when I started talking to all of you awesome February folks, when I started dreaming about our Disney trip and now, its almost here! I can't belive it. I can't wait to meet some of you!

Just wanted to share my DS's marching schedule, just in case any of you are going to be in the parks when they march!

Thurs. Feb 3: They will be in the Spectro (is that what they still call it?) pre parade at 6:30 pm...in the MK

Fri. Feb 4: They will be in the Celebrate a Dream Come True pre-parade at 2:30 pm in the MK

Sat. Feb 5: The bagpipe corp and the first company (select band) will be in Epcot, marching between Canada and Futureworld at 10:30 am.

If you get the chance to see them, please do. They are a fantastic HS band...world renowned. You won't be disappointed!

Another mom of a marcher here, my son plays alto sax. :-) Man, is band time-consuming... but so, so worth it for these kids. Such a great thing to be involved in! Wish DS & I could be there to see your DS!!

This is from the Magical Express FAQ at the Disney site:

What if I did not receive my Disney's Magical Express Service information packet, including vouchers and luggage tags, prior to leaving home?

Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, proceed directly to Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center where transfer vouchers will be provided. For Guests with flights arriving between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Disney will obtain your information, collect your luggage and deliver it to your room at your Resort hotel. For airport arrivals after 10:00 p.m., Guests must collect their luggage at baggage claim and transport it with them on the motor coach.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! Just got an e-mail from one of the groups about this very question. (I knew they would ask more sooner than later). This really helped! :thumbsup2

It has been a wonderful experience for my dd. She's not the most talented musician...she plays oboe in regular band and tenor sax for marching....but she adores marching band!!! So much that, it's one of her top requirements for a college...we're only looking at schools that have marching bands.

On a side note:rolleyes1 Just realized that my "gotta be at the Magic Kingdom by lunch" mentality....means we have to LEAVE the house for the airport at 4am!!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Marcy- we will be in the MK on Thursday the 3rd! I will have to look out for the band! So the parade begins at 6:30?

Yup, that is their step off time. I think they call it the "pre-parade"...the Spectro parade must start at 7 pm that night (or close to it!)

We won't be there that night....we didn't get hoppers and I would rather see the band in daylight, so we'll be in the MK on Friday and Epcot on Saturday.

My son adores it! Such a great group of kids...which is great when your child attends a school of around 3000 kids! It keeps them grounded and part of a group...

I am so excited to see them march...I get goosebumps when they play!!

I just got my package!!!!!!!
It is real now. We're going to Disney World!!!!!:banana::banana:
Woo hoo!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you scrappinmom. I have to be out of the house by 4AM at the latest. I am not a morning person. Just under 4 hours in the plane to catch upon sleep before hitting MK. Two weeks today!!!!!:cool1:
