The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

19 days to go and I am officially obsessed with checking the message board every chance I get. Told DH we need to bring suitcases up from the basement. Think I'll pick up the grocery items this weekend.

I'm taking DD to see Tangled on Saturday. This will be her first time ever seeing a movie at the theatre and what better way to prepare for our trip than to introduce a new princess :)

that's a good idea, I should take DD3 as well since she's princess obsessed. DS already saw it.....

So a few months ago I decided we would watch EVERY Disney movie before our trip (the whole family). We got off to a slow start but have been catching up the past few weeks. We now have 10 movies left. We probably won't get to watch *every* single one because we only have 5 weeks left, and there's a few we don't have and I don't know how Blockbuster is with Disney movies, although I'll check, but I think we'll be able to get through another 6-7 anyways. I'm pretty pleased about it. :dance3:

Huzzah!

DH and I are doing Disney nights on Saturday nights. He does homemade pizza (he is the cook in the family). If you get a chance, even thought its not a movie, Waking Sleeping Beauty is amazing. It is about all the changes to the animation from like 1982 to about 1992. It was very interesting.

We got Disney Mail today!!! :yay:

Our Disney tickets came!! :dance3:

The kids had fun picking out which character ticket was theirs!

16 Days and Counting!!! I wish February would hurry up and get here already!

Hi all :)

This is my first time posting to this thread , as we JUST started planning last night. We (my dh and I) have decided to make a surprise week long trip to WDW in Feb from the 21-26. :cool1:

Has anyone ever went during presidents week? What kinda crowd lvls can we expect?..

Can someone tell me exactly what I should be getting in the mail? Is it just luggage tags and ticket thingys for DME? I only looked thru it quickly but I have no idea what I'm even looking for so I want to be sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to.

From what I hear, pretty busy. Actually, really busy. Can you incorporate either the previous or following week into your trip so you're not there for just President's Day week?

:yay: 17 days to go. :yay:

I found a website called dtunes.com. :lovestruc (I might be a little late on finding that one). I have been playing it none stop for days. Nothing like singing Disney Songs at the top of my lungs to irritate the kids.
My DD12 actually said to me today she wishes she didn't have to go. :scared1: I thought I was going to fall out of my chair. She is a typical teenager.
IT IS MY 40TH BIRTHDAY TRIP AND SHE GETS TO SPEND 2 DAYS HANGING OUT WITH DADDY AT THE PARKS WHILE I AM AT THE SPA AND BEHIND THE MAGIC TOUR. Oh she is going even if she hates me for a while. I know she is going to have a great time!

Can I pack yet????? Can I check in online yet????

Really, really busy. REALLY. Hopefully you're staying onsite? I would take advantage of every extra minute you can get by utilizing extra magic hours, especially in the AM. (If you're staying onsite.) Otherwise, be at the parks well before rope drop, and have some sort of touring plan -- Touring Plans, Tour Guide Mike, RideMax, etc. You'll get to see and do more and avoid the worst of the crowds and lines. President's Week is definitely no time for just winging it in the parks. :thumbsup2

Have a great time!

One envelope will be from DME and have your yellow tags to hang on your suitcase and your Magical Express info

Another envelope (assuming you got a package) will have a booklet type thing detailing out your package- where you are staying, how many day tickets, etc. and contain coupons to use during your trip. It will also have luggage tags for you to use if you wish

oh, ok. So I got the DME one. So i guess I should get 3 mailings since I have 2 different ressies and the arrival DME is attached to the first ressie, and the departure DME is attached to the 2nd ressie. The one I got yesterday only had the arrival date and said "no information" under the Departure section.

i am upgrading to a package tomorrow.... we leave the 5th... is it too late to get more mickey mail?

We're going to the 6th through 12th. We're celebrating our daughters 2nd birthday & this will be our youngest first time. As of now staying at All Star Movies. May change that through to a different hotel for a change since we stayed there last time. Really wanted Carribean Beach but the military discounted rooms were already sold out :(. Its what we get for planning a trip at last minute.

I have a question that I hope one of you may be able to answer. We are arriving late (7 pm)...should we get out luggage and take it to DME with us or should we have it delivered? If it is delivered...what time do you think it will show up? Just trying to figure out my packing :goodvibes

Okay, seriously, I was hoping for some really warm days while we were at DW - not every day, but some...you know, for swimming, waterpark, etc. I was getting a bit bummed by the forecast because it's showing pretty cool temps when we arrive. But then....

The low here tonight is supposed to be -33 celsius. -33!! That's like, -27 F. And with the wind chill -40C! Now I know that one, that is the temp where they are both the same! -40 for crying out loud!!

That's when I realized...even on a cool day, Florida is a good 50 degrees celsius warmer than here! A full 82F temperature difference!

Whew, okay, rant over! I am now heavily into my packing list, making sure all the 'right' places are programmed into my GPS (yes, we bought one specifically for this trip and downloaded the mousesavers program - awesome!), and am checking and re-checking everything else! I noticed that touringplans downgraded a few of the days we're there from 3s to 2s - awesome! I love low crowds!

Did anybody ever figure out what made it so busy the Feb 4 - 6 weekend? It just seems like such a jump in attendance, and they didn't offer free dining, is it usually busy that weekend?

Happy everyone got their Disney mail! One downside to staying offsite, no disney mail...

Does anyone know the crowd levels for the beginning of Feb? Last post scared me when they were asking about the 4th to the 6th weekend is it going to be that crazy there? I was plugging in numbers just to see on the Disney site for Pop and my dates you can't even get into there :scared1: Then I shortened the dates and only preferred is available.
I hope it isn't crazy, maybe I'm just freaking out after planning on going at a slow time I don't want to feel pressured. Put this poor girl at ease please :headache:
