The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Ok, so I can get FD...Whew ;) I think thats the way to go with our family size, no?

And girls, I'm interested in the February Losers too! :rotfl:

I have a 3 month old baby and need to drop my last 10 pounds off! It's tricky for me to have to cut back too much since I am still nursing but want it gone by the time Feb comes around for sure!

And actually, I naturally lost 120 about 8 years ago and have more or less kept it off since then. I really need to tone up now, it's all in my behind at the moment haha...

But I LOVE MY CARBS, can't get rid of them

Hey Allison,
Yayayayay!!!! Another Ohio person!! I'm so excited!

Sadly, our dates don't coincide. I won't be there until the 27th (travelling on the 26th, but not in the parks til the 27th). Bummer... I do get to Cleveland several times a year, though, because my son loves the Natural History Museum, and I like several of the malls, and the Crocker Park area. Maybe we could plan a day to meet sometime! How fun would THAT be!??:woohoo:

I think February Losers is a good name, too! We'll wait until the end of the day and then we can start that thread with any of the others who want to join us. (P.S. Even if you don't need to lose weight currently, but would like to offer motivation or help, you're welcome, too!) I want to know what you will be doing. I am always looking for things that actually WORK when it comes to weight loss.

I looked up the touring plan dates again and this is what it says for Feb. 13th currently:
Sun, 13 Feb '11 2 MK EP AK
So, yes, AK is the park to avoid. They base it on crowd levels from the past and wait times for rides. (They use the big rides, or most popular rides as their guideline). BUT... the thing to remember is that the park levels for that day is a 2 (HOLY BATWINGS a 2 is TREMENDOUS!) So, you can kinda think of it this way... even if AK is the WORST park that day, it's still not going to be horrible. It will just be the MOST crowded of the 4 parks. I think you'd still be fine to go there. Now, if it was an 8, 9 or 10.. I would definitely avoid (although I would probably avoid all parks since I don't like crowds AT ALL).

If you want, I can pm you the information that they supply on the touringplans website that shows you how they come up with their numbers. I've read it several times. Some of it makes sense... some of it not so much:confused3 But from past experience, I know it works!:worship:

But I LOVE MY CARBS, can't get rid of them

Mandy, I MORE than love carbs... I am completely addicted to them! And interestingly enough, I feel horrible when I eat them, but yet I crave them. So for me, once I give them up, I feel better AND I lose weight! It's not for everyone though... I know enough from many years of watching my weight, that what works for one person does not work for all. It's such a personal journey. BUT, it is always helpful to have people along the way to support you!

I'm glad that you'll be along trying to shed the 10 lbs of baby weight. And congratulations on losing the 120 lbs from before! I also lost a great deal of weight, years ago, and I have kept MOST of it off up until recently. I think some health problems and my incredibly stressful job (and life, ha!) have contributed to that, but it's time to take back control. After my son was born, I was about a size 6... those days are LONG GONE! Wish I could get pregnant again to lose the weight! :lmao: Actually, I'd love to get pregnant again for lots of reasons, but it's not in the cards. So, I guess I will have to be like regular people and watch what I eat, instead of being on the "too sick to look at food" plan that I was on while pregnant.

There's no better goal than 6 months from now being on an airplane (hate those seats even when I'm thin!) and being comfortable on rides and walking.

Geez I'm chatty today... someone shut me up!

so true jolene! At least we will be going together lol- my new plans are....

Sat Feb 12th: Arrive, MK (4:55pm Crystal Palace)
Sun Feb 13th: AK 8am (8am Tusker House, 6pm Boma)
Mon Feb 14th: EP (6pm Le Cellier)
Tue Feb 15: MK (6:30pm Ohana)
Wed Feb 16th: EP (11:30am Via Napoli, 6pm Garden Grill)
Thurs Feb 17th: DHS (4:15pm Mama Melrose Fantasmic)
Fri Feb 18th: MK (8am Chef Mickey, 6:30pm The Wave)
Sat Feb 19th: DHS or AK, late flight home

Do you know how things work if you have a late flight and plan on using the transportation to the airport? As in, how do your belongings get back to the airport if you check out of the resort that morning but dont leave until evening? And yes, I get easily confused lol. I was just thinking about whether or not to get an extra ticket and maybe do something the first part of our last day? We drove the last times we've gone down to Disney but will be flying this time!

Yes, stress gets to the best of us....Usually after I have my babies things get soooo crazy that I can hardly remember to eat but since I am still nursing Preston I have to remind myself to get at least a few extra calories in (but that cake yesterday was the wrong kind of calories! lol it was sooo good though!)

It's a total lifestyle change if you want to keep it off as you know. I mean, I look back at the way I used to eat as a teenager and child and I don't even find most of the things I ate then even remotely appealing ??? Yuck lol. I was originally planning on going back to work. I teach dance so right there would put me back into shape and get toned up BUT I am also having some medical issues and am going to be needing surgery most likely before going to DW in Feb. Not sure if I am going to be going back to work until next summer now.

I like chatty, keeps the thread moving

I wonder how many ppl. are going to switch their days now that the offers have been released! My CC is ready to go...I'm on the site right now and ready to book the free dining. I hope that is the way to go for us!

I requested a quote from Dreams for our dates, with free dining and the gift card promo, for both value and mod.

I don't know if my cousin's CM discount would be better (room only, and park passes separately, bought at the CM store?!) I don't think he can book anything until October...I don't want to wait too long if the free dining deal is a better deal.

Not sure what to do!:confused3

ME will still deliver your luggage, but you may want to grab it yourself from baggage claim if you are in late. My friends arrived at like 10pm and never got their luggage until the next morning.

As for checking out, if your airline is a participating airline, you can check in and check your bags in right at your resort. The resort will store your carry on luggage, and you can pick it up when you go back to your resort for your ME pick up. If your airline isn't a participating airline, the resort will store all of your bags for you until you are ready for them. Easy Peasy!!:thumbsup2

Mandy,
I would think the FD would be great for you and your family! I would love to do it, but it's not in the budget at this time. If we didn't have the timeshare, I probably wouldn't be able to finance the trip in February, so beggars can't be choosers, as they say!

Sorry to hear about the surgery. It's never any fun to have that on the horizon. Hopefully you will remedy whatever is going on, and be back to 100% by the time February rolls around!

I know what you mean about the way you used to eat, I gained so much weight years ago, and when I look back on it, I just cringe at what I was eating! I definitely had no self-control AT ALL. I love to cook and I will experiment with almost any ingredient. So when I would have a craving for something, I would just go out and make it. The thing is, I wasn't sharing it with the neighborhood, I was eating it myself! Yikes! Anyway, one day I decided that enough was enough and I started really watching what I was eating and also exercising (I was swimming 6 miles a day there for a while) and the weight came off. It took a while, but it was worth it.

Anyway... I feel that I am definitely reverting to my old, bad behaviors. Gotta do something now or I will be big as a house before you know it!

We can all help each other, whether it's 10 lbs or 100 lbs! :yay: <--- that's me attempting to do jumping jacks!!:lmao:

I love this group! You are all so friendly and helpful :)

Beth- havent heard from you today- wondering if you are keeping the same dates or moving a week later like us

I agree with you Allison, it's a pretty great group of people! :grouphug:

I think it's great that some of you can change dates. Are the crowd levels a lot less on those dates, too? Talk about a double winner! :mickeyjum:mickeyjum:mickeyjum

Just a simple gallbladder surgery but I have been putting it off for years...That scares me but three c-sections didn't, go figure :confused3

I just recieved an email from Beth (Dreams Unlimited) and she was able to apply the discounts to my reservation!!! So I asked to upgrade to MK view at CR and she said she got it!!! And we're still saving $800!!:yay::cheer2:

How did I miss this thread?? Is it too late to join the February bunch here? :flower3:

DS and I will be at our beloved Pop :cloud9: from Feb. 11-19. Just changed that as of today! We were going the 4th-12th, but changed that to take advantage of FD. Saved nearly $500, which will pretty much pay for our airfare. Now I'm just on pins and needles waiting for SW to open their schedule up tomorrow, hoping for a good deal there too!!

Can't wait to plan with you guys over the next 6 months!

Gina- we will be at Pop from the 12-19th! See you there :) How old is your son? Ours will be 5 when we get there

Yay, see you there!! :goodvibes

My son will be celebrating birthday #15 when we're there... although it feels like we were just celebrating his 5th!! He and I have been going to WDW since he was just turning 4 -- in fact he turned 4 having breakfast in the castle while being loved on by princesses :lovestruc -- and we've been going ever since. We can't WAIT to be back at Pop!! :yay:
