Allison, I'm in Michigan also! Actually, Mandy and I, I think, live in the same town or very very close!

I'm wondering about POFQ. I'm not a huge New Orleans fan but if it is the most compact of the moderates, we may upgrade. Right now, we're planning on POP but if a good discount comes up, we may switch. I'd love to get free dining but wouldn't mind 30% or more off a room also.

Where is POFQ located? Near which park? I've never checked it out just b/c of the New Orleans theme... Maybe I'll do that now...

We are currently booked at POP too Beth POFQ is close to downtown disney (can take a boat from the resort there) and Epcot/DHS I think. My heart is set on Coronado Springs, but there is no availability when we are going so POFQ is my second choice I would be find staying at POP too- especially if the discounts arent that great! Free dining would be AWESOME!!! We are actually close to the Cleveland area of Ohio! Go Buckeyes

We haven't booked anything yet. Not really sure why....

What are you dates again?

I have relatives that have a place near Cleveland. Well sort of. In Marblehead. I guess that's probably about an hour outside of Cleveland...

We're not planning on doing a dining plan so that's why free dining would be icing on the cake for us. Meals paid for! Yea!!! Here's hoping!

Heyyy everyone! Just poking in to say hi... I tried to call and make my ADR's this morning but because we aren't booked yet I could only make them for the first day of our trip! Seeing as how I'm on the west coast I'm a little ticked off that I woke up in the middle of the night for NOTHING

Even more of a headache, DBF just found out hes basically laid off So we may have to drop DXDP for the regular DP or move the trip out to May. We're already staying at a value, and other ideas on how to shave some $$ off the trip? I think we need some pixie dust...

Beth- Yes. I guess there is a convention. Oh well. Pop looks really cute too! I only booked because I wanted to making dining reservations. We were on the dining plan last time and loved it. However, it can get pricey for sure!

Well we were hoping for CBR but with the dancers and sheer size of that resort IDK...POFQ has just appealed to me that much more I guess I'm not into some of the theming all that much either but the resort itself is beautiful. I've only been there to drop a stroller off last year from a swap but liked what I saw. A lot of people like it because of its size. The pool is great for the kids and has a dragon(?) slide. You can also take the boat to DTD from there and walk to POR to use their pool or food court...first on and first off the buses, fresh made beignets too! I also heard they hand out the beads to guests... For sure look into it

DH was born and raised in a 7 letter city that starts with an M. LOL. Can you figure out where we are at now?

Mandy- Didnt realize till just now that you are from Michigan- not too far from us- we are in Ohio. I am excited that you will be at Tusker for breakfast at the same time as us!!! I think your plan looks great! I think POFQ is a GREAT choice- that is more than likely where we will end up too once a deal comes out. We stayed at POR in May and really liked it.

Are you going to be at AK on the 6th too?? That is neat! We'll for sure see ya there We love OH. The zoos and theme parks, you guys definitely have us beat there!

We thought about POR but the kids like the look of fq better and the buses are supposed to pick up first there as well...

Sorry to hear about DH's job...this economy stinks

You guys will still have an awesome time on the regular DDP. You could start having a stricter budget at home in order to save for your trip. We are definitely going to have to start buckling down here once school starts!

I know, I told DBF we could stop eating until Feb. and then we could keep the deluxe plan We may not have to change anything, it just depends on how soon he can get another job & how much we chip into savings between now & then.

I wouldn't worry too much about not having DxDining. I think the regular dining looks good. We plan on bringing extra Ziploc bags so there is no waste! Sorry to hear about the layoff

I'm trying to book ADRs but I'm having a hard time since I didn't book directly with Disney (used Dreams Unlimited) . I definitely want to book the Fantasmic package though!

Hi there! My DS15 is going Feb. 1-6 with his high school band. Heads up for anyone staying at POR...the band (approx. 300 strong) will be staying there!

My DS11 and I are going that same time, with my best friend and her DD11. I'm not sure where we are staying yet. My cousin is a CM and will be booking for us. We are thinking either CB or Pop. Trying to stay as far away from POR as possible.

We just booked our airfare, and now have to plan the rest of the trip. We are getting four-day passes, no hopping. I don't think we're doing the DDP.

I can't wait to see my DS march down Main St. They are marching in three parades...I'm pretty sure the daytime one, and the nightime one at the MK. Not sure about the third?

Aw Congrats to your DS! I rememer when our marching band in HS went to Disney. I wasn't in band (drama girl lol) but my friends were and had such a great experience Something he won't ever forget!

I'll get you added to the list when you do figure out where you are for sure going to be staying! Just a heads up to you, CBR will be where the dance competition girls will be during that time as well so you may want to reconsider if you are trying to get away from "action" lol.

We will basically be there the same time as ya'll, 2-9!

We live in bethlehem about 5 minutes from liberty although my kids will go to freedom. My dh graduated from liberty in 96. What a small world. I hope you have a great trip. We are looking to book POR and I was so glad they were not the same dates as the band trip.

Hi! Very small world, isn't it?! I went to Freedom as well (class of 86!) I was in the band, so it's been interesting having been in Freedom's band, and supporting Liberty's band. You know how that rivalry is!

2011 is going to be the year of trips for the band. They are doing Disney in February, and Hawaii in November. They are the honor band for the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. We are hoping we can pull off both trips...we'll see!

We are in the process of selling mums right now....LOL

Well from the looks of things its going to be pretty big. I think its the big competition that is aired on ESPN...they will be at the All Star resorts and CBR. Allison posted the website somewhere in this thread??? We had originally planned on CBR as well but changed our minds after we found this bit of info out. I'm a dance instructor myself and know just how crazy those girls can be

We are looking for more piece and quiet this trip (imagine that with 3 kids! ha) so are going to try POFQ. Super excited!!!
