~*~*~*~*The Official DECEMBER 2015 Thread*~*~*~*~

Google "historical disney discount release dates" and there's a website out there with a chart. Free dining for December (General public)came out early May last year.

I'm working my way through all 19 pages of this thread but wanted to say hi!

We're likely booking Dec 9-16 and renting points to stay at AKL. As you can see from my signature, we are DL vets so trying to plan for WDW seems a bit overwhelming. I'm not used to having to plan so far in advance, we once went from "wouldn't it be nice to go back to DL" to landing in Anaheim in less than 3 weeks.

The trip is going to be me, DH and our DS (10), my dad and stepmother are snowbirds so they might meet us there for a few days before we head to their winter condo a few hours away from Orlando.

Any WDW advice for a DL vet would be really appreciated! :)

Am glad those came out. Now to adjust my spreadsheet to avoid MK on those days. :)

Hi Everyone, joining in. We are officially booked! Our dates are November 28 - December 5 staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Can't wait!

Yay! I wasn't expecting the MVMCP dates to be announced so soon! I was planning on going on Dec. 8th based on previous years and I'm glad that it works out!!

Too bad for my friend's mom, though. She just found out that she's going in November and was hoping to be able to go to the first party, but she'll miss it by a day :(

Officially joining in! We are staying Dec 9-16 in a DVC room at AKL! 286 days to go and I am SO excited!

My DH, and two DDs, 13, and 11(turning 12 on the trip), and I are going in December for the first time this year. Normally we go during spring break which falls on oldest DD's bday, but this year DH got approved for time off in December so off we go to finally get to celebrate youngest DD's bday with Mickey and the gang. The girls have no idea we are going this year so this will be the second time we have surprised them. We surprised them with our first visit five years ago. So excited!!

We'll be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter from 12/16-12/20. DD's bday is on the 18th so I'm hoping we can get tickets to MVMCP on that night. Any advice you can give me on the party and visiting during that time of year would be greatly appreciated. I hear it's hard to get tickets to the last party. Do I need to be calling as soon as they open the dates for ticket purchase?

Joining in! We are typically August travelers (the last two years anyway), but some magic has lead to us being able to book during a non-peak time of the year :banana::banana:

We are planning to travel Saturday, Nov 28 - Friday, Dec 4 and for now are going to book at POP. A few things I am nervous about. I wasn't planning to travel until after Thanksgiving weekend, but my parents are coming with us and with three kids (one will be only a few months old), they will be very helpful and they requested these dates. I'm wondering if there are any veteran travelers to this time of the year......What will the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend be like? The crowd predictor says 5- so I'm assuming it will still seem less busy than what we are used to in August, but it is still making me a wreck! Also, there is a MVMCP this night which would be great as we love doing MK on our first park day, but because of the holiday weekend- I didn't know if it would be better to wait until the Tuesday, December 1 date. Although crowd predictor shows MK as the least crowded day on that Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.....

My other peeve is that we won't be there quite a week (one day shy). This bugs me! My parents want to be home in time for a wedding on Saturday- we could fly back a day later, but I think I'm overreacting and that 5 leisurely park days will be more than enough. We've been to the parks for hardcore touring the last two years and my goal for this trip is to be able to enjoy the Christmas festivities and hopefully the more leisurely pace of much lower crowds.

Reassurance please :thumbsup2

The last party will almost definitely sell out, but not until much closer to the date. However, if you know for sure you will be attending that party, I'd buy your tickets sooner than later.

So excited to find this thread! We'll be going for our second family trip Nov 28-Dec 5. It will be my parents, DH, DD (5), and me. Our last trip was in June 2014 so we're looking forward to cooler temps and MVMCP!

We're staying off-site but I can't complain (too much ) because my parents are footing the bill as they are Marriott Vacation Club owners. They've already booked Marriott Harbor Lake which is near Sea World (no plans to go there.) I'm wondering if anyone has any idea about how long it will take to drive to/from the parks. How's the traffic? What is the best route? Will we realistically be able to take midday breaks? Any advice is much appreciated.

I can't answer your questions. I am sure some one will be able too. I wanted to say :welcome: and I hope you enjoy your stay with us as we countdown together!
