~*~*~*~*The Official DECEMBER 2015 Thread*~*~*~*~

So thrilled. Just got in for Morimoto Asia for 12/12 at lunch! I checked last week and it only went to mid-November but something made me look now and it gave me 5 times for lunch! We are doing Minnie’s dinner that night so I figured an 11:45 lunch with maybe 2 entrees that the 3 of us split will 1) give us the experience and try the restaurant and 2) will keep us good to go until dinner. I’m so happy!!! :jumping3:

Has anyone heard mention of an opening date for the Skipper Canteen, or when reservations might open up? I keep hearing mid-December, but nothing definite. I wish they would pick a date so I could make a reservation!! I REALLY want to try it out while we are there.

I've heard both 12/5 and 12/20, but nothing confirmed. LTT was supposed to reopen 11/20, so 12/5 seems more likely, but who knows?

Any FastPass advice for a newbie for the week of Dec 6? Since I’ve never been to WDW I’m not familiar on which rides you really need a FP+ and which you probably don’t. I know at Disneyland which ones to get but I’m sure the crowds are different there LOL I am going to try for the 7 Drawfs Mine Train (that’s a given) but how about the following; would we need FP for them:

Pirates of the Carribbean
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain
Dumbo
The character meet and greets (no kids, just adults so these really aren’t a necessity, don’t need A&E, just for fun

So the park hours for the last week of December show a 9am opening. But I've read that this could change and open earlier (not including EMH)?

Yes everyone seems to think MK will open as early as 7 all week. I might be one of the very few futily rooting against it because we have a pre-RD ADR I don't want to cancel. But we probably will have to or we'll fall behind the crowds.

Finally paid in full! I was waiting to see if another night would open up at POP for stay but no luck yet. The CM told me to just keep checking and that days open up all the time, I hope she's right!

You will definitely need one for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. If you don't get it right away for this, or any attraction, all I can say is try checking everyday (or even multiple times a day). People are constantly changing their plans. It took me a week to get my FP for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

As for the others you ask, I never had a long wait for the Pirates of the Caribbean or Dumbo. But the waits can get pretty long for the Haunted Mansion and the Big Thunder Mountain. I am sorry I cannot comment on the character meet and greets. Not sure if you are interested in Space Mountain, but this is another ride that gets pretty long waits and you may want to consider a FP.

In my experience, if you are looking at rides at parks other than the MK, you should also consider getting a FP for the following:

> Hollywood Studios: Toy Story and Rock n' Roller Coaster (But you can't get a FP for both)
> Epcot: Soarin', Test Track, and Mission Space
> Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris

Good luck! Hope you have a great time.

For the last week of December, if they add an additional Fantasmic show, what would the times of the 2 shows be? I have a F! dining package for the "1st" show but I'm not sure what time to assume that will be. TIA!

They just updated the first week of Dec, and the two F! shows are 7:00 and 8:30.

Thank you for your suggestions! We are also attending MVMCP so hoping that we will be able to get to the Mine Train that night IF we aren’t able to get a FP+ for it :worship:

Thanks! I hope that it stays 7pm... we'd be able to have dinner at 4:30pm, see the Osbourne lights turn on, get to F! and then go to our dessert party at 8:30pm.

So the show is at 8:30 even though the park closes at 8? Or will they likely be extending the hours?
They could still make changes to the hours, but it's not uncommon for the 2nd F! to be slightly after park close.

Anyone else have a hard time with scheduling all the shows for HS? I'm wondering how we will fit it in and we are going for 10 days. I have one morning reserved for just seeing the shows we want to see.

Do they open up more times for the shows Christmas week? I need to fit in Jedi Training if it is re-opened, then Frozen sing along, Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones, and Lights Motor Action... all before 1pm. Possible or should I skip one?

Will they possibly open up this park an hour earlier too? I saw they might do that with MK. Right now park opens at 9 on the 23rd.
