~*~*~*~*The Official DECEMBER 2015 Thread*~*~*~*~

We will be going November 29-December 5th! Upgrading a little this time from Value to Moderate...staying at Port Orleans Riverside! :D We fell in love with this time of year when we went this past December, so we decided to go again. I am trying to get all the details finalized so I can make the official booking this weekend!

We will be there in December! This will be our first Christmas WDW trip! While we are there we plan to celebrate DS's first birthday and DD's Fifth Birthday. We have another DS who won't have a birthday but we will plan a special celebration for him too. :-)

Hi all! We will be going back Dec 3rd-7th, staying at Poly. We are very excited since it will be our first time going for the holidays. Can't wait!

Our resort has changed! And our dates, too!

We just returned from a Disney trip and booked a bounce back offer!

Now December 16th to 23rd -- Art of Animation Finding Nemo Suite!

Thanks! :santa:

I'm sure you will get your Poly wish.

Just wanted to do an update. We are doing a split stay for our first visit. I decided go through David's Vacation Club and booked Nov 30th- Dec 6th at Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani, and Wilderness Lodge Dec 6th-11th. It works out for our family and we will all have our own space which is great. Can't wait to be there.

It's still in the very early stages of planning, but it seems likely that I'll be headed down around Christmas time with my immediate and extended family! We will be staying offsite at our Orange Lake timeshare since we have a few banked weeks that will expire soon if we don't use them! WDW is so incredible during the holidays, and I hope this trip will be finalized soon :goodvibes

It'll be my fourth time back home at WDW since finishing my College Program in January 2013. I spent 7 incredible months working at the Most Magical Place on Earth and I miss it every day!

During my time working at WDW I called both Epcot and Animal Kingdom Lodge home, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have whether they're about the parks, resorts, dining or those fun magic bands. (I worked very closely with them from their debut at AKL in June of 2013.)

Joining in on the December fun- nothing booked for sure yet (free dining wait??) but we are planning on two weeks over the Christmas holidays:santa: We went a couple of years ago, and despite the crowds had a wonderful time! My kids still talk about back to back rides on BTMR at 2 am...

BOOKED. WE ARE BOOKED, HOT DOG, WE ARE BOOKED.

Booked CL gardenview at the Poly. Whoop whoop. And we are on the dining plan which scares the tar out of me. We used it once and still had to pay. CLEARLY,Not using it right. Any advice on how to use it will be most appreciated.

Which plan are you on? We love the DDP, get it every trip, and I am terrified because we won't have it in December!!! Your best use of credits are character meals and/or signature dining if you are on the regular or deluxe plan. The QS credits don't differentiate between adult and kid meals, so order adult to get the most bang for your buck. (Sometimes my 2 kids can share 1 adult meal, saving a credit!) And you can find lots of breakfast items that qualify as snack credits, saving a meal there.

We are officially changing our trip dates to 2016 :( Unfortunately, when we adopted our kitty last year, we weren't aware that we were adopting a special needs kitty. Most of our travel budget went to helping get him healthy. We could have still managed to go this year but it would have been really tight. But on the bright side, we're still going to WDW again sooner than I imagined we would!

I believe the lady said ddp plus.
The DDPs are as follows: Quick Service (2 QS meals/day + 1 snack), Regular (1 QS, 1 TS, 1 snack/day), Deluxe, Premium and Platinum (3 TS + 2 snacks/day). The Premium and Platinum plans also include some additional upgrades and extras).

So, assuming you have 3 TS meals/day, that's a lot of food! To make best use of your credits, schedule sit down meals over quick service and definitely do some if the signature restaurants or dinner shows (which are 2 credits each)....unless your family can stomach 3 sit-down meals every day?

If you don't plan on any of the signature dining, you may want to downgrade to the regular plan, as you will likely end up with unused credits.

We are doing deluxe in May, but have 2 2-credit meals booked. So we will fill in the gaps eating breakfast in our room a few days and/or with snacks. Three full meals is just too much every day for us, especially when you consider that lunch and dinner includes an appetizer AND dessert every time!!

If you have Deluxe dining plan, you will completely be covered!! It's 3 meals, 2 snacks a night. Don't you get breakfast type foods and other things throughout the day for being CL? Maybe you can save a little and just go with the regular DP?

Are you doing deluxe for SW meals? We are going May 2016 and that seems like the way to go for those 2 meals alone. I think for us, it's close to $600 OOP. :/ Then I'm thinking of throwing in CRT even though my boys will kill me for having yet another princess meal. :P I'll have to check in with you and see how it works for you in May. :)

Yes, have both SWW meals booked in May. I did the math of those meals plus the other TS restaurants we have ADRs for, and we were already ahead even without the snacks.

(And btw, my son LOVES all the attention he gets at princess meals!!!)
