~*~*~*~*The Official DECEMBER 2015 Thread*~*~*~*~

I'm looking for some advice from the rest of the December travelers....

We have never gone to WDW in December, but now that I have the school calendar for next year, I see that we can go from Dec 17-23. I am also seeing that typically there is FD during that time.

Should I go ahead and book it now to be sure that the room is available and then take a chance on adding free dining later in the year?

TIA for your advice,

realhousewife

If you will go whether there is free dining or not, then I'd say book - but if you won't go without free dining, then I wouldn't book. The theory is that if there are already tons of bookings, they won't have an incentive to offer the free dining in the first place.

We're going whether there is free dining or not, but are, of course, hoping they offer it. All we'd have to do is rebook if they do.

Just booked my flight for my December 3, 2015 trip!!! Yes it is early for that, but last trip I made the mistake of trying to wait for a budget airline's dates to post and by then my main carrier's price had gone through the roof. Swore never gain. So rates came out and I booked. Seats were already filling up.

It closed. The daycare I worked for closed. It was a awful week, Families were scrambling to find new daycare on such short notice. Broke my heart. I am humbled by the offers I received to watch their children. I could have opened my own daycare. I promise you this happened next, the day after, bosses truck caught fire. I am truly happy no one got hurt. However, Karma maybe?

We will be in WDW from December 6 to 12. We're staying at BWV for the first time. We're celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary too. It will be me and DH and DS's 14yrs and 11yrs old. The boys don't know we're going to Disney and we're going to surprise them when we get down there. They think we are going on a cruise. Which we are the week after Disney. I can't wait to see their reaction when we tell them. :rotfl:

That really stinks. I'm so sorry. Sounds like your ex-boss got exactly what was coming to him.

We're officially booked!!!

I did change resorts while on the phone with reservations, so we will be at Port Orleans Riverside from 13-18 December!

We had a good chuckle. He was a bad business owner. However, my heart wa with those kids.

And welcome to out group.

I'm sure- I hate when kids get the worst end of adults' bad decisions. I hope that their parents are able to find great new care providers and that you're able to find a new job that you enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome!

Question for those who have been before in December!

Currently, we're booked for December 1st through 11th -- just me and my youngest daughter --- hubby may or may not be able come with me. It depends on his work schedule.

My youngest daughter has special needs, so I'm reluctant to go alone with her.

My oldest daughter is in nursing school and would LOVE to come with me -- but her semester doesn't end until the middle of the month.

How bad are the crowds December 16th through 23rd?

We've been to Disney half a dozen times, including the middle of August, but never before for the holidays!! :cloud9:

Thanks in advance!

I would think you will be there just before things get really, really busy. The 16th, 17th and 18th should be the quietest (I am assuming the locals would still be in school until Friday the 18th), then the remainder of your vacation would get a little busier each day. Between Christmas and New Years would be the nuttiest part of December. :santa:

So we changed our dates and resorts to go along with the hubbys vacation, saving some money and getting alonger stay. Both are :magical deals: Nov 27-30 at CBR and then moving Nov 30- Dec 5 to POR. So excited!!

I joined the Facebook group that I had found, are we going to stick with it or do you want our own Dis Group?

Do we have any info in the Facebook page yet?

I'm so sorry, ya'll! I totally spaced this. Unfortunately, I've not had very much DIS time the last couple weeks. :(

I'd like to try just going with the one you're referring to, Lucinda. Seems a little redundant to have a group there and and a thread here made up of all the exact same people having the same conversations. However, I just would like to chat with that group's moderator first and make sure it's okay for me to link to it here. :goodvibes

I will work on an answer to this over the weekend! :thumbsup2

Hi, Aerinha! Congrats, and welcome to the thread! What date are you checking out? I would be happy to add you to the Roll Call! :)

So we changed our dates and resorts to go along with the hubbys vacation, saving some money and getting a longer stay. Both are :magical deals: Nov 27-30 at CBR and then moving Nov 30- Dec 5 to POR. So excited!!
Got ya updated on the Roll Call! That's a nice long stay, and very cool that you'll get to experience both resorts! :thumbsup2

We are looking to book our room soon. I still have my first choice of Poly. However, I looked online and some places are booked up already. I this point in time, I hope to be able to find something.

Who has booked?

We still have a couple days intel we can book. I'm hoping we get what we want and not have to wait list it.
