The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

That's the week we went last year and it was fabulous!:)

Only 66 days to go. It doesn't feel like such a far off "will never get here" idea now!!!
I think I've talked myself into doing MVMCP again this year. Now to talk my husband into it.::yes::

That is when I normally go but had to skip last year to health issues (started dialysis). So I decided to make it up with a July trip :) I love going in December (early). Park is quiet and decorated for the holidays.

Is anyone going the week of Dec 1st? Last time we visited, we went Dec 9-16th, it was a perfect time! Hoping the week before is just as great!:cool1:

We are!! We check in on 11/30 but our park days are the 1st - 5th. Our last trip was October 2011 and a couple of days were crazy crowded despite the low crowd predictions. I'm hoping for better luck this time but regardless I know we'll have a blast! This is my first time seeing the Christmas decorations and I can't wait!!

Quick question...

Does anyone know where I can get a "Drinking Around the World" passport for free? Every time I look, it seems that the site wants to charge for it.

Also, since this is my first attempt, I think I'll take the wimp's way and work from Canada to Mexico, as opposed to vice versa. Can anyone offer their own testimonials?

First time visiting at Christmas time pixiedust:We will be staying at the Shades of green from 13-20 December. For those of you that have been this time of year before, if we avoid the EMH parks, what can we anticipate the crowd levels to be? And during MVMCP, is it worth riding some of the rides, or are there enough other activities to keep us busy? Just trying to get a plan together.

This will be our first time going during the Christmas holidays. Staying at ASM from 12/14-12/21. Have family joining us and the wife and daughter have never been to WDW but have been to DL. We're really looking forward to it. Nervously waiting for our FP+ opening night.

Having never been this time of year before, what can we expect as far as crowd levels?

Also, for whomever runs the FB group, I just sent a request to join - Brian

Is there a way to provide the link for the Facebook page? I can't seem to find t searching, TIA! :thumbsup2

Finally!!!!!!!

I was just over at allears.net and they updated the narrator list for the Candlelight Processional. I was getting tired of seeing TBD as our narrator. But today, there was finally a name there. On our night of the Candlelight Processional, Joe Morton will be doing the narrating. When you look at his IMDB page, he has been in a million different things. But most recently, he play Olivia Pope's dad in Scandal.

I'm actually excited to see him. He has the kind of voice that can really carry.

I am going Dec. 13-21. Except last year, this is the time I go every year. Crowds are light compared to much of the year.

He's our narrator too. I've never heard of him but I'm excited to see him too. I think I might try to watch an episode of Scandal on Netflix to get a feel for him.

That is so great to hear! I'll be there Dec. 12 - 17.

CT,

Thanks for the words. I'm glad to hear it will be reasonable crowds. Have you been to the MVMCP enough to give some advice? I know there are certain things I want to see/do, but not to sure about what the overall plan will be. Our group is 10 adults (youngest being my 26 year old DD). We only have MK on our schedule 1 other day besides the MVMCP, so not sure if we should try doing some rides or if we will miss too much stuff that only happens during the party. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We're going the Dec. 12-19. I'm so glad to hear about the lighter crowds! The only other time we went was the very end of May/beginning of June, so I'm looking forward to lower crowds. And the Christmas lights!!!

Cant say I have, sorry.

I went in July this year too which is the first time I've been in the "school is off" period. The heat and crowds were a bit much for me.

I'm not CT, but maybe I can help. I've done the MVMCP twice (2010, 2012), and we've loved it each time. This yr will will be going twice on our trip.

Tips for MVMCP, usually will all depend on the make-up of your group. We we go, it's all adults. So we skip the dance parties and the 1st parades, of the night and take advantage of the no lines for the E-ticket rides (it takes longer to walk through the ropes at Pirates of the Caribbean than than it does once you get inside). Then we catch the fireworks, maybe some more rides and then the 2nd parade.

If you are going with kids, they may want to do the dance parties and meet n' greets, rather than rides. And they may not have the steam to make it to the 2nd parade.

In either case, make sure you take advantage of the complimentary cookies and ho-cho. It might help give you the sugar rush you'd need.

I'm going with my daughter the first week of December. We've been Thanksgiving week before and had a blast. We're thinking about doing the Christmas party but not sure about it. Is it real crowded?

We'll be at SOG from Dec 15-20. We're doing the MVMCP on our last night - DD is pretty good at keeping going all night as long as there is stuff to do and the next day we're driving to MIL's house so she can be a crankpot in the car - I think we're going to try for parade #2 and do all the other stuff first. We're going in with limited stuff planned as our group isn't big (4 maybe 5).

BDL,

Thanks for that response. We have 10 Adults (youngest being 26), so we will skip the dance parties and hit the rodes. We know we want to see the fireworks and the parade. I hear the second parade is less crowded, so your plan seems like the way to go. Appreciate it!!!:cool1:

CanSass,

Perhaps we will bump inot each other. Our group will be 10 adults (between 62 and 26)...likely wearing Santa hats and being exceptionally loud! Have you stayed at SOG before? We have stayed about half a dozen times and love it. Hope you and the family have a great time!

Nope. Never been to Disney at all. We'll have DD (4) DH and myself (30) MIL (50s) and maybe SIL (23).

Hello Everyone! We will be joining the Christmas week crowd also! Dec 20-30! Staying off site. Upset with myself for not realizing we could have stayed on property with free dining, next time I will not make assumptions! So happy that I finally get to be in my happy place for the holidays!
