The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

I finally was able to look at pricing for our Christmas Disney vacation. Now all I have to do is buy my Disney GC and contact my TA to book. I was going to rent points but with free dining (which according to trends will match my dates) I will save more with free dining. So excited, 492 days!

Glad to hear that you can finally see your dates and price them out (I remember how good I felt). And that's really good that you have options. With jsut about everyone able to see their dates, the next phases should be fun.

That's when everyone starts finalizing their resorts, trying to decide which events to go to or avoid (and hearing the pros, cons and strategies of them) and waiting for the dates of the events. And last, but certainly not least, waiting for Pumbaa to open up the Dec 2014 Cancelled ADR thread.

Looks like you and I are in for the same dates. I was finally able to book as well. Dang! I cant believe how much more it is the week of the 12/14 vs the week of 11/30 or 12/6. I know we may get lucky and score some free dining but dang thats one heck of a jump in price to gamble on that. BTW, If I remember correctly you went the same time as us this past April/May. We must be on the same kind of Disney drugs!

Wow yes we were there in May! Yes it is a big price jump from one week to the other. At least the week we are going is the number 2 week for low crowds.

I think we will get lucky with free dining which will save me about $700 so that will make me happy. I just wish that I could stay in the Little Mermaid room but it is usually blacked out for the free dining offer.

Are you on the FB page yet?

Well its official! I went ahead and booked and put down the deposit today. We opted for the first week in December. We are checking in on 11/30 and out on 12/7. We may change, but my wife and I thought it might be better to pull the kids out for the week after Thanksgiving rather than the week before Xmas. We may even try to do the Xmas parade taping at MK if that is going on the 6th. Anyways, we got way over a year to figure it all out and get it changed a couple thousand times.

Sorry Jmarsh, looks like we are going to miss each other. :-(

I was just thinking that we are going to miss each other. We are going on the Fantasy on the 21st so we cannot change.

We can still plan and bounce ideas off each other. We are so excited and have already started a list of the ADR's that we want.

You will absolutely love the cruise. We did the Dream this past May after our days at the parks. We have pretty much eaten everywhere that we have wanted to, so ADRs arent that big of a deal to us. We'll probably pick a pre RD breakfast somewhere along with a character meal or two. Probably try to get somewhere nice in the Worldshowcase for our EPCOT days. The main thing for us will be XMas stuff. We have always been primarily Spring time, so this is a welcome change for us.

1) In my opinion, the 2 best pre-RD breakfasts are Tusker House at AK (variety of food and character interaction) and Akershus at EPCOT (cheesy potatoes and several of the princesses in 1 location)

2) There is an abundance of Xmas gear to buy. The shirts. The ornaments. The pins. Also, if you go to the MVMCP, there is event specific shirts, ornaments and ESPECIALLY pins. When we did MVMCP, the stores ran out of 2 specific pins, both of which were of characters, that members of our groups were sad they didn't get. But persistence pushed me through until I found the pins for them. It was not easy.

The best advice I can give, don't go down with a set budget for merchandise. You'll only make yourself sad. The 2nd best advice I can give... To prevent me from going nuts with the spending, I do not sync up my plastic with my KTW.

Christmas at Disney is going tobe dangerous for our bank account...in our last 2 trips we have spent an obscene amount on ornaments, stockings etc. and that was during fall/summer trips.....:rotfl:

I am super excited for MVMCP,

And if we can snag free dining it would make things perfect!

Talk about procrastination... Just this weekend, we finally sorted and lanyard-ed our pins from our last trip. Below are links that can show you what the MVMCP pins look like.

Snowglobe Mickey

Minnie Mouse

Chip n Dale

Stitch

Mickey Mouse - 1 of the impossible to find

Tinker Bell - 1 of the impossible to find

But also, pinpics.com is a huge resource for pin trading in it's own right. So if you are a trader, look around the site. You might see that pin that you forgot to pick up on your last day, a trip or 2 ago.

:cool1::cool1:Booked my trip !!!:banana:
Staying at Fort Wilderness 11/30 - 12/7. First time on property and first time without my kids---Just me and DH. Ask me if I feel guilty !!! NOT  I love bringing my kids but this time we are slowing down and taking it all in. First time at Christmas too !!!

This will be the DH's and I's FIRST Trip to Disney. We had planned to go earlier in the year, but things kept pushing it back till we finally decided just to go with the Holidays! We are looking to seeing all the beautiful lights and decorations!

Any suggestions/info for a couple of newbies would be great! Thanks!

Welcome aboard.

There is so much to see and do during the holiday at WDW. Don't know how long you are staying or the make-up of your group (# of people and/or kids), but we've been twice here are a list of my favorites.

Candlelight Processional at EPCOT - Very moving telling of the Christmas story (Bible, not BB gun), by a celebrity narrator, orchestra and choir.

Also at EPCOT, there are Gospel music performances, and each country has the incarnation of their Winter holiday, explain its origins and traditions.

Osbourne Lights at MGM (I still refuse to call it Disney Hollywood Studios) - I have seen youtubes of this, specials and have experienced it in person twice. My jaw still drops and still get goose bumps

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) at Magic Kingdom - This is a pay event. But they cap the number of tickets, so you can pretty much walk right onto E-ticket rides. Also, special parades, meet n greets and dance parties. And it snows on Main St.

I alos recommend resort hopping, to take in how the different resorts decorat for the holidays. Especially on the monorail loop and the boardwalk resorts.

So I got in and priced our dream vacaton; only about $4000.00; not bad for a once in a lifetime trip. I got the biggest dinnign plan with the goft and the other things included; I am SO super excited!

Hi, I’m joining in. My family and I are doing Disney September 2013 :cool1::woohoo: and we are already planning our December 2014 trip :cloud9: with 8 adults and 6 kids. :scared1: I know its going to be a lot but so much fun Thanks for stating the board!

I am so excited for our trip. I cannot wait to incorporate all of this into our 8 days at WDW...

You can take a sleigh ride at Wilderness Lodge

Wow we must just love giving Disney our money! No one could figure out what they wanted to do over the long Labor Day weekend, so we just booked 3 a night 4 day stay at Pop! Still got the December thing planned but thought this would be a goody. We are lying to our girls. We told them we are going to Atlanta to shop and go sightseeing. Yeahh! They'll get to see the sights as we drive right by. HAHAHAHA! OH..and it looks like we are part of the whole MB FP+ testing too because I just got to pick out our bands. Just spending 2 days at the parks though. Probably Epcot and MK

Oh I am jealous! I wish I could go before Christmas but being on the west coast I will have to go to DL in between. The cost of the flight is what kills us....

We would go to the same parks too.,.. Have a great time
