The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

I so agree...on all counts! No doo-dahs necessary for me. I was balking at the $30, but I'll fork over the $15...maybe. :teeth:

And the new 'do - *shudder* I'm so not into it. Bring back the spiky hair!! I love the geeky guy. The "sexy 'do"...not so much.

We should start a campaign to bring the nerdy back. Timberlake can take care of the sexy.

:rotfl: Seriously, old Clay (pre-hair) could have sold t-shirts that said, "I'm Bringin' Nerdy Back". I would've bought one. Or two.

But yeah, it's the hair, and it's also the, like, "I see you looking at me, but I'm just glancing at you" expression he has. Don't glare, Clay. Smile. Let your eyes dance. None of this, "I'm so dreamy I can only open my eyes half way" junk.

*sigh*

I don't understand the "image" change. The old "image" was working just fine, or better really. I flat out don't like the new one. Give me back the real Clay.

Obviously, I agree. I don't know why they thought they needed an image change. It's funny though, because the TRUE Claymates are delusional and think this is the sexiest thing and they just love his new look and think he's so "hawt" as they like to say. I sit there and read it and shake my head. I'm tempted to post, "Listen ladies...I'm in Clay's demographic and this is NOT attractive to me. You might think this is "hawt", but as a 26 year old woman, I beg to differ."

Plus they think that he's gaining all these new younger fans because of it...and I don't really see that. I belong to another forum that's sort of a celebrity gossip site, and all the "young" fans on there think it's funny. No one is swooning that wasn't already.

He's just not convincing with this look. Plus the Claymates are trying to credit him with bringing "shag" back in style...apparently they're blind to the fact that emo rockers and teenagers have been going this route over the past few years.

I couldn't for the life of me find the Insider listed on my cable guide this morning...I was trying everything so that I could tape it and watch it later after class. Could someone post a link to wherever it may be on the web after it airs? pretty please???

Gotcha covered, Brandie. I'll post the link after it airs tonight.

ETA: Here's the link to the Sendspace file...I hope it works for you!!

http://www.sendspace.com/file/o4lt3r

(But if it doesn't, don't worry...it was all of like 45 seconds long, just snippets of him singing Without You...the hair looks so much better before it's fussed with.)

Clay attended David Foster's charity gala and Star Search event this weekend. There are some pictures available, but they're a fan's photos, so I'm not going to repost them here, just in case it stirs up trouble.

There's hair. And there's stubble. If there was stubble and NO hair (well, LESS anyways), I'd post them. If there were spikes and no stubble, I'd post them. But because there's hair, I'm not posting them.

The event is supposed to be broadcast on Canada's Bravo network in "two weeks". Don't have a definite date for it, and I don't have Canadian Bravo...so we'll have to wait till someone YouTubes it. I hope one of you lucky souls has access to it!!

Clay is also SUPPOSED to be on the cover of People magazine next week, and a Primetime Live special is in the works. No date for that yet, but I'm sure it'll be posted here when it's announced.

There's almost TOO much going on these days...

I just want you to know....THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol...He finally comes to Indiana, although it's closer to Chicago, but it's still Indiana...and that's the dang night I have committed to helping my boss for his annual holiday party...I'll even BE up in that area that night!!! This totally and completely SUCKS!!

There's just no pleasing you, Brandie. :sad2:

I'm starting to be suspicious of your husband....is he THAT threatened by Clay that he arranges for him to tour near you on dates predetermined to be IMPOSSIBLE for you to attend?

I think he just might. :confused3

Maybe he'll add another date closer to you....

I'll be in Merrillville! WOOHOO! :cool1:

Good luck getting tickets!!

I'm personally *sighing* with relief now because I'll be in WDW from December 1-5, and Clay, in the past, has come to NYC during those dates. I'm hoping this means I won't miss him!!

Okay, after being invited over from the smaller, more managable "Clay's new CD release thread," I have decided to take the plunge, and try to become a regular poster here, especially after seeing this Indiana tour date! I've been out of the Clay loop for awhile, and am excited to get back in now that he is doing all this stuff again!

I've posted here a few times I think, but since this thread was so loooooong by that point, I never really got into it like you guys that have been here from the start?

So where is the best place to look for tour info, such as when tickets go on sale, and exactly where the he!! Merrillville, IN even is.

Off to check Mapquest!

Merrillville is just South of Chicago. Tickets go on sale Saturday thru Ticketmaster. We saw the JBT there last year. The Star Plaza Theater is adjoined to a Radisson hotel so if you'll be spending the night, make your reservations early. There really is not a bad seat in the house.

Okay, just checked Mapquest, and it's telling me 3 hours, 54 minutes from my house. That can't be right. I can get to Chicago in 2.5 hours, and this looks like it's just a little bit beyond Chicago.

Hmm..I really want to go!

Page 145. :lmao:

Honestly, usually I post an updated calendar when a new date comes up, like this:

09/15/06 - Friday: Jay Leno
09/19/06 - A THOUSAND DIFFERENT WAYS released
09/19/06 - Tuesday: Good Morning America
09/22/06 - Friday: The View
09/26/06 - Tuesday: Jimmy Kimmel Live (the Clayboard is reporting that this will air on 09/27/06 for East Coast...when it gets closer to the date, I'll let you know, but I guess just TiVo both nights, or, if you're living in the dark ages like me, set the VCR)

12/06/06 - Wednesday: Lyric Opera House, Baltimore, MD
12/09/06 - Saturday: Community Arts Center, Williamsport, PA
12/14/06 - Thursday: Tilles Center, LIU, Brookville, NY
12/15/06 - Friday: Eisenhower Hall Theater, West Point, NY
12/16/06 - Saturday: Count Basie Theater, Red Bank, NJ
12/19/06 - Tuesday: Devos Hall, Grand Rapids, MI

If it's a brand new date with ticket info, I try to put it in BIG RED LETTERS. Like Kimber1963 said, Merriville goes on sale Saturday at noon through Ticketmaster.

Sometimes we find out the last second, and then I post like 26 posts in a row trying to get someone else's attention so they can get tickets too, lol. And then, maybe, we'll send each other 89 PMs until our boxes fill up and we have to stop.

Maybe. But it's darn worth it, right Debi and Cookie?! :thumbsup2

Hope that helps!!
