There is a new auction up at ebay. They have a lot of Clay autographed stuff....cd's, mags, tshirts, "Kenny's apron", "Scrubs" script, etc.
I don't know if it's ok to post the link to the auction here. So, if you go to ebay, type in Clay Aiken BAF in the search window, the auction items will come up.

To the editor:
I am writing in the interest of fairness.
I have read several articles and letters in
The Philadelphia Inquirer and the
Gloucester County Times concerning the
Recent performance of Clay Aiken at the
Commerce Center for the Performing Arts
In Washington Township.
Students and teachers from Clear view Regional High School have
Complained about broken promises and unfair treatment
I cannot dispute their claims. I can only share the experience of my daughter,
Madeline Brewer.
Maddie,who is 12, is a member of the
Gloucester County Children’s Choir,
Which was invited to support Aiken’s per-
formance on Dec.2, the same night the
Clearview students performed.
My daughter had to leave school early,
And like the Clearview students,she
Spent the afternoon and early evening
Rehearsing. Her group was also given a free
McDonald’s meal, which seems to me
A fairly inexpensive way to feed a large
Group.
Maddie didn’t complain about the meal
Or anything else. Instead, she came home
That night all excited. She said that she had a
Wonderful time and that Clay Aiken was “really
Nice”. He came around and shook our hands and
Talked to us and gave us autographs. It was really cool.”
The chance to perform on stage with a “star” was thrilling to her
After the performance, Aiken joined the kids for a
Question and answer session. Each child was allowed
To ask one question, and Aiken answered it. Maddie told me she couldn’t
Think of a question. “so I just told him I really liked his hair”
This was a great experience for my
Daughter, and she was grateful and happy for the opportunity. I don’t know why her experience was so different from that of the Clearview students, but it was.

As I stated previously there are always 2 sides to every story. Clay never made any official statement on the incident. Lets move on to brighter topics.

Also found out that Clay is going to be at the Indiana State Fair in Aug. Wonder if he will be doing another NAT. Last year he was in York, PA and had one of the largest crowd on his tour. I hope they get him again. No word out when his new CD comes out.

Ok, the Christmas concert story is really old news and there is another side to the story. Once I can find the link I will post it for those who are interested. Then people can decide on there own. I just find it very interesting that someone brings it up now.

I didn't realize bringing up this issue would upset people so much. My point of bringing this up was just to say I have mixed feelings about him now, that's all. And like you said there are two sides to every story, and since you are tired of this story I won't tell any more info that I know about it. By the way, the teacher who got suspended for a week just happened to be my sons teacher.

And Kim, thanks for posting all the "words of wisdom". I've copied portions of his book for several of my coworkers (I work in a behavioral health clinic for children) because I really think his experiences can make even the most NON-Clay fan atleast look at themselves a little differently.


Not even going to comment on the Christmas tour "incident".


I'm assuming you've all heard, but I'll report it anyway, just incase. Clay is playing a state fair in Indiana in August - I think maybe that could be very good news to some DISers!!

Also, I received a BAF email about a Voices for Change event on April 16th in Ft. Lauderdale. Tickets start at $200. I'm sure the information is also at the BAF site, but if anyone wants the "official invitation" (for lack of a better description) or more details, I'll post 'em or fwd the email.

It was a treat posting those pictures.! I love seeing natural Clay, interacting with the Indonesian kids!

I found out about the Indy show from the friend I went to the concert with last year! She hopped online and "screamed" at me about it...lol...I believe tickets go on sale on April 9th...

Not sure if it's part of a tour, Kim - right now, that's the only show scheduled, besides the BAF events. I can't imagine it would be a one shot deal though.

I wonder if this is going to be like last year that we only get bits and pieces of concerts slowly. It drove me crazy last year. I did end up going to 2 of them one in Baltimore and the other at York Fair.

I am also so ready for another CD. I bought Kelly's CD and have been listening to that.

Cookie, I feel your pain, but now I'm a little worried too...

If he's in NJ on July 28, there's really a pretty good chance that, if he DOES schedule more shows, he'll be in the tri-state area in the couple of weeks prior to that too!!

AND I'LL BE IN DISNEYLAND!!!!

Clay, I warned you about this. I told you that, with the new Harry Potter book and Disneyland's anniversary, July was really NOT a good month for us to have our little rendezvous.

Unless, of course, you plan to be in the Happiest Place On Earth on July 17th. Then we can celebrate together!!!
