The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

Clay is very, very rarely played on the radio here (NYC & CT). I have heard him just a couple of times (since his 1st single was released) on a Long Island station.

Many radio stations don't think he "really" has any fans. They think he had a few "pre-teen girls" plus "middle aged housewived" who buy multiple copies of his CD's. (Sure must be "nice", because at around $15 a pop, I can only afford *one* of each CD's.)

I like Clay (& Rubin & Kim) because they are *real* people with *real* bodies. I'm so tired of looking at the "shock rockers" (like Kid Rock) and barely dressed females.

I liken Clay to Frank Sinetra. Not that their music is at all alike, but their rise to fame is. Frank, after all, won a radio talent show. Noone thought he would "amount" to much......

You don't even have to use his last name, just say "Clay" and people (even non AI watchers) know exactly who you are talking about.

I like Clay. I like the fact that he isn't "bowing" to the music sceen pressure. I like his music. And the fact that he's pretty darn cute doesn't hurt either!! I really think he will have a very long, successful career!!!

debbie (mickeyfaniam) had suggested on the cheerleader thread that we should dedicate this thread to stuff that has to deal with clay. this could be where we come to post pictures or announce appearances or just drool...we should change the title of this thread to something reflecting our new "club"...i think that we could keep this thread alive! heck beth can give us the latest juicy gossip direct from raleigh!

Count me in as another Clay devotee. My DD yells "Mom, your boyfriend is on Nickelodeon" whenever she sees him. My DH thinks I'm nuts, but he likes him too. I think he has the voice of an angel and the fact that he's from my home state, NC, doesn't hurt. Too bad the radio stations up here in NYC have not clued in to his popularity yet, because they don't play him very often. Maybe that will change after his appearance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Please post when anyone finds out when the Barry Manilow/Clay show will be on. I'll make sure to tape it so I can watch it over and over and over....

so i guess that the other swan dolphin cheerleaders have now been spared any more Clayscussions (hehehehe)...one of us needs to put a pic of him in our signature...just so that clay will always be on every page of the cheerleader thread!
